Brings back memories of my school days (am now 67) when the pier was full length. Used to walk from Marske to the pier. Plenty of coalies in those days. As an aside we used to have to run from Redcar comprehensive to the pier along he cliff top and then back along the beach. In winter with the gales blowing it was torture although they called it cross country and it was good for us.
I remember the pier rocking and rolling and the water coming up through the boards. I also remember many many years ago a Basking shark rubbing itself against the stantions making it rock.

Do people not dispatch fish anymore? Takes 2 seconds to stop minutes of suffering.
They do dispatch all sized fish but due to UA-cam rules it’s all done off camera 👍👍
