Lessons from this video: 1. always turn your back to suspicious looking, masked persons. They won’t do you no harm. 2. pointing at people shows certainty and professionalism
Trust me, when there's like 4-6 officers on scene and you're the star of the show, the Taser is just the cherry on top to make sure you comply. Situation wasn't deemed dangerous enough for armed police to be on-scene, and if it was armed-police-worthy, they're not rolling up with sidearms, it's MP5s and G-36s at least. Nothing really seems out of place here. If he doesn't listen and they think he's armed with a knife, he'll just be tased or pepper-sprayed and restrained by the officers, who have the numbers to make sure he can't struggle free while they're trying to get cuffs on him. The UK police are chill lads, but if they're acting, they absolutely do not fuck around. Sometimes you get entertaining moments though, once saw one accidentally pepper spray another officer who was downwind of a draft while they were restraining a really mad drunk fellow outside the pub I was at. Given the sometimes lack of significant activity, multiple squad cars/vans are dispatched to a scene so there's at least 3-4 officers for every suspect and an overwhelming numbers advantage to make sure it's easier to restrain aggressive suspects.
Rule number one of police academy: "Always try to de-escalate the situation." Glad to see how calm those officers were and how loud and aggressive the suspects were.
That's not rule #1 and it's not called a police academy. Rule #1 is to preserve life. If someone is suspected to have a knife on them, all courtesy goes out the window.

Why? Clear and concise verbal commands, relevant legislation conveyed to the suspects, decent deployment of the taser and additional officers remaining behind it. Their only real demerit is that they suffered some initial tunnel vision and zeroed in on the main suspect without minimising the threat of the additional. Quickly rectified, no harm done, cab be resolved during training.

Tasers are NOT to be used for compliance, purely for self defence or subduing a VIOLENT subject...
Trust me, when there's like 4-6 officers on scene and you're the star of the show, the Taser is just the cherry on top to make sure you comply. Situation wasn't deemed dangerous enough for armed police to be on-scene, and if it was armed-police-worthy, they're not rolling up with sidearms, it's MP5s and G-36s at least. Nothing really seems out of place here. If he doesn't listen and they think he's armed with a knife, he'll just be tased or pepper-sprayed and restrained by the officers, who have the numbers to make sure he can't struggle free while they're trying to get cuffs on him.
The UK police are chill lads, but if they're acting, they absolutely do not fuck around. Sometimes you get entertaining moments though, once saw one accidentally pepper spray another officer who was downwind of a draft while they were restraining a really mad drunk fellow outside the pub I was at. Given the sometimes lack of significant activity, multiple squad cars/vans are dispatched to a scene so there's at least 3-4 officers for every suspect and an overwhelming numbers advantage to make sure it's easier to restrain aggressive suspects.

Clear and concise verbal commands, relevant legislation conveyed to the suspects, decent deployment of the taser and additional officers remaining behind it.
Their only real demerit is that they suffered some initial tunnel vision and zeroed in on the main suspect without minimising the threat of the additional.
Quickly rectified, no harm done, cab be resolved during training.
