- STATUS QUO LIVE IN CONCERT
On August 30th 1992 in Sutton Park, near Birmingham, the band and the station came together again in front of 125,000 of it's listeners, on a very wet and windy afternoon, for a unique celebration of 25 years of Radio 1 FM, The Party In The Park.
If you were not able to be there, here the radio broadcast, or see the subsequent celebratory TV programme then here is your chance to rock 'til you drop to the music of one of Britain's best, and most fun loving, rock & roll bands, Status Quo.
This concert is very special because Status Quo have been making music even longer than I have been producing Radio 1 programmes. One of the proudest moments in Radio 1's history was providing the world's broadcasters with the sound for Live Aid in 1985 and it was not surprising that Status Quo were chosen to kick off the momentous occasion.

Rick totally on top of his game. Seriously, who doesn’t want to be Rick Parfitt in this video? Coolness & rockstar personified
Many won't agree, but this is my favourite line up. I think Jeff Rich was their most solid drummer. Great concert, saw this line up at the NEC in the 90s. AWESOME
You're right. Many won't agree, including myself. Terrible line-up
Frantic Four is still the best of all time!
@@linkedloetje2475 the classic lineup
I love the intro with the big bass and synthesizer. ❤💯🤟🏼🎸
Andy play so verry good
Thank you very much for such nice words. For me Quo is a way of life since I was 14 years old. I am 52 now. This video is one of the best of my collection. Every time playing this video, it's happening again: the sound, the rhythm, the crowd and everything does feeling me very good. So I really understand your words saying this is my favourite Quo concert. Enjoy and keep it alive! With compliments.
61 ,still the best
Mi cancion favorita!!
The boys at their best
Thank,s for a wonderful video. I love STAUS QUO! Wen i was a young boy 1970 i like Status Que with my friends!🙂💖💖💖💗💗💗
I used to watch this when I was about 13 and my dear mum would always say why’s Francis pony tail put up like a girls??? I love her and quo ….
The. Best Banda
Souvenirs souvenirs le meilleur du groupe,je suis là bas avec eux , bravo STATUS QUO, ❤❤❤
🎸🎤🎧🔈Super live
Zawsze zajebisty zespół rock and roll
Gutted I was too young to see the original Quo 1st time round I did get to the Wembley show on the 2013 F4 reunion. However I saw them on this tour in Bournemouth my 1st gig I was 10 and I went with my Dad and his mate I was buzzing for weeks after. So this is the line up I grew up with. I went to see them in Bournemouth pretty much every year thorouout the 90/early 00s. Great times happy memories.
My line up to .Great memories of the NEC jumping all night .
La mejor banda que toca en vivo.
Thank you very much, Jorge Rodriguez, for your fantastic words! My Spanish is not so good. I've translated your reaction through my computer. Now I know what you've written. I totally agree. You said the one and only truth! I can't say this in better words. You really know very well what good music is. To me The Quo never played rock & roll.... They ARE rock & roll. Live on stage Status Quo give the audience a piece of ART !! Thnx Jorge !
The best band ever 🎸🎸🎸
Thank you very much for tour reaction!
This is my favourite line up too. Jeff Rich was really a very good power drummer and very solid. Status Quo music needs a drummer like Jeff. The NEC?! Wow, that's a big building. I've seen mostly concerts in the HMH (Heineken Music Hall) in Amsterdam. Not so big as the NEC, but the MHM has a very very good acoustic. Specially made for live gigs.
With compliments!!
richard
That day...they had a lot of power...
Drummer did a really perfect job.
First of all: thanks a lot for your comment, Maciej Niewiadomski.
What can I say? From the bottom of my heart|: I totally agree with you! After all these years, this video for me is still the best and (using your words) most powerful live registration of Quo on stage ever.
Your meaning about drummer Jeff Rich: it's the only truth as well in my opinion.
Many many years ago, I saw an interview with Jeff Rich on Dutch television. They asked him: ''What is the most importent part of your job as drummer?''
Without using a short moment of two or three seconds of silence to think about his answer, Jeff Rich gave his answer immideately after the question.
Jeff Said: "The only thing you always must follow is everytime when you play live on stage, you have to play like it's your very, very first time. If you don't do that, you're screwed !"
Jeff also added to it: "Giving 99% of your energy live on stage, is absolutely not enough. As long as you are the drummer, you don't have several choices. There is only one single option you must keep doing it every time, again and again: Giving the full 100% of power, strength and energy. Or in other words: You have to give all that's inside of you for the benefit of the show."
Listening to his words, I was fully convinced that he was not only a very good drummer, but also had much sense.
And besides only calling by name the most important parts for a drummer in case of being a member of obviously a power band like Status Quo, he also could explain very clearly about the reason behind it and determines exactly why it is so important.
I was very impressed.
Good luck!
With compliments,

@@MrDownthedustpipe tell me...Can i buy this concert on dvd ???
@@@maciejniewiadomski5960 As far as I know, this live registration has never exists on DVD. Only on old-fashioned VHS tape. Every time I was touching the tape, I did it very, very careful. The decades after the original release of the VHS tape I did all the best I can to conserve it and keep the quality as good a new.
Long time ago I had the possibility to burn DVD's from VHS tapes. Not anymore, now. So I only have just one copy of this video on DVD. At this moment I can't make a copy a DVD disc, because my computer is almost dead and gone. Good news: Soon I will have a new computer. In the best scenario it's only a matter of a few weeks.
When the new computer is build, delivered and it is working, it will be very easy to burn digitally a new copy from my DVD on another DVD-R.
At this moment I don't have one single DVD-R and I have no idea if I can buy just one DVD-R disc instead of a spindel of at least 100 DVD-R's in one time. Of course it is no problem for me to find out.
The last time I've burned a DVD is maybe more than 15 years ago. But when the moment is there that I have my new computer I know for sure I can make a brand new copy for you. If it's no problem for you to have some more patience, I promise you will be the one that will receive the very first DVD I'm gonna burn on my new computer.
Besides the shipping costs (do you prefer shipping by registered mail-that makes the price 8,00 or 9,00 euros higher), which price did you have in mind?
I'm certainly not a person that will use all his energy to get the highest price you can imagine for this item. You can trust me. I'm an very honest, trustful man, who agree with a reasonable price.
In first place I'll leave it to you to let me know which price it is worth to you, to get a digital copy on DVD.
With compliments,
richard van keulen
A very lightweight drummer, not fit for a rock band.
But then again, Quo had stopped being a rock band a few years before
@now it is ten past three this drummer/line-up was only the best at sounding mediocre and bland
einfach nur genial.
this is my favourite quo concert and i grew up listening to my dad playing this CD and then me playing it on my sisters walkman, then getting it on my iPod, so thanks for posting this :)
Yeah!! I was too young to see that line up, gutted, loved the Milton Keynes bowl end of the road show. Still got the videos!

I was at this event, never seen this recording before
Wow! You was there? Then you have seen one of the best Quo concerts ever. Thnx for your reaction !!!!
What happened to my favourite band? No surprise the old fans left them in droves.
True but they bring out play fantastic live music like no other else…..,.
At 11:10 the sound gos off which is marvelous
I could have lived without In the army
Hey.Whatever you want.
Cruise ship quo!
Sounds been cut off after 11.20
Hey Richard, warum ist später kein Ton mehr da?
Why sound cut off ??
Это ютуб убирает звук в композициях?
Да, После загрузки мне пришло сообщение, что я должен загрузить как минимум 1 донг без звука, из-за авторских прав.
Sound is gone at 11:14. 😮💨
@paul james All Status Quo members were millionaires. 🤣
Burning Bridges is not playing, I mean the sound
That's right, I know, wirelessboogie. UA-cam sent me a post after uploading. It all had to do with copyright. They gave me permission, but there was also a penalty: From 1 part UA-cam gave me a choice between 2 songs. I must tell UA-cam which song. After that, UA-cam erased the sound of that song. If I didn't do what they told me, then UA-cam would erase all 4 parts of the concert from UA-cam. Finally they didn't. I've had a little luck. So now you know the real story about there is no sound on Burning Bridges. Thanks for your reaction. With compliments, richard from The Netherlands (Holland).
OK, thanks for explanation, this is sad. Nowadays everyone uploads to UA-cam everything and YT just caches in on it.
Quo's best period is the 70's. In the army now?burning bridges? Margarita time? Living on an island? ffs 🤦
Just a thought for quo nuts… frame Rick used many stage guitars that looked like original but were copies that kept their tune too!! Using one guitar each would be silly . Guitar s naturally go out of tune fairly quickly especially quo playing them! Any and many guitars were used definitely with frame’s guitar which went for silly amount probably wasn’t the original in the first place.
Sorry Rhino headless bass is no rock and roll.
