How are these different from just making slip from those clay bodies?

You can use them on Bisqueware and layer glaze on top then fire.

The engobes have less clay in them than a slip made from clay bodies would have. This means that engobes can be applied to greenware and bisqueware with any issues with cracking or flaking off.☺️
