I think the beauty of Engobes are that you can have the appearance of a datk clay without the headache of worring about the dark clay bodies ruining the glazes when they off gas the impurities and you dont have to fire any different.
Me too! I love the look of dark clay but not the mess! The engobes are a game changer!☺️
I know some archeologists and I can tell you they get positively giddy if they find a fingerprint in a piece of pottery.
