The way EVERYONE wanted the bullets to go back at the agents... But then immediately you realize the same thing Neo had to realize. He thought maybe being "the one" meant he could dodge bullets. Now he realizes why Morpheus said he wouldn't have to. Meanwhile we go "ooh cool, so now you have the ability to turn their bullets against them!" And then we're immediately shown how we are *still* underestimating what this means. Sure, I think he could have sent the bullets back at the agents if he'd wanted to, but he didn't have to. He didn't need the bullets at all.
I watched The Matrix. Then i watched The Matrix and - Revolution as a double feature and one year later I watched the whole trilogy in one in the Cinema. And you're right, it was breathtaking.
My favorite effect after he destroyed smith is when he flexes and the hallway bows out as well. Epic statement of his new effectiveness in interacting in the code of the matrix.
Yes! It's baffling to me that no one has talked about this effect. I've seen at least 20 reactions in the last few days. You know, younger people watching this movie after 25 years, they don't get the full effect it had back then. Now this kind of effects are so common it doesn't surprise people like it did when Matrix invented all of that.
When Keanu Reeves was a teen, he did a sci-fi comedy called. Bill and Ted's excellent adventure. To go from that role to action movie hero, was quite a transformation.
@@wristcontr0l Those roles were for certain marks on his trail to becoming a badass action hero, but neither of his characters in those movies was at the Neo/John Wick level...in my opinion anyway. That's why I chose The Matrix contrasted to Bill and Teds.
I watched The Matrix when I was 15 and it absolutely blew me away! Sometimes a movie is released that makes such a big impact it changes everything that comes after, and The Matrix did exactly that. You can see a clear distinction in actions films that came before and after The Matrix, the way they were filmed and how much more they were inspired by the sci-fi genre. Sci-fi is also still my favourite movie genre today!
Keanu Reeves had a stunt double on this film. About 13 years after this film premiered, they would meet again, and he pitched an idea to Reeves. Keanu liked the idea so much he agreed to play the title role. The stuntman name was Chad Stahelski. And the movie he made with Keanu Reeves has now become a million dollar franchise you may have heard of .... JOHN WICK. 😎
Ah man I love the origin of John Wick, Keanu teamed up with his stunt double to make a new franchise, just like that. And they brought Lawrence Fishburne into it too!
Lol.....I love how emotionally invested you get into each movie. I'm not even paying attention to the movie half the time I just enjoy seeing your reaction to it.
I was 17 when this came out. The cinematography with the fight scenes was amazing and new. No other movie had done this style at the time. This was the best of the trilogy (now 4 movies) because it really made you think but the next two are definitely worth checking out.
Reeves and the other main cast all trained in martial arts for months. They got very good at it and were able to learn the complex sequences of moves for a lot of their fight scenes. And then, they did even more for the sequels!
The action choreographer was Hong Kong choreographer, director and occasional actor Yuen Wo-Ping. His directorial debut was in 1978, with _Snake in the Eagle's Shadow,_ the film that also gave the first major hit to action superstar Jackie Chan. The Wachowskis had wanted to get Yuen as they were fans of Hong Kong action cinema. He was initially reticent to even read the script, but somehow he was convinced and loved it enough to take part, as long as he could have long enough to train Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss and Hugo Weaving properly enough in martial arts and simple acrobatics to be able to pull off the fight choreography. Undoubtedly this foundation was also what later served Keanu well when he took on the role of John Wick.
I am currently binge watching your reactions and you have the single best personality that I've seen from all of the others I watch. Your ability to cry, laugh and make jokes is very seldom seen nowadays. Stay precious, it is contagious!
Hi Miss Biss!😊 I don't mind watching this re-upload again. It looks like many people agree with me looking at your views. The first matrix film is pretty special. They did have a boot camp, and really trained fighting for this film, Bisscute. Good guess picking out the traitor.😉 You should check out an older film of Keanu Reeves with an interesting view of the future year 2021, "Johnny Mnemonic" (1995). Great reactions to your very first Matrix film, Miss Biss!!!🎬👏👏👏👏
The years 98-08 was epic in many ways (the years when internet really picked up speed). Few movies have had such an impact on me, probably only Lotro (the first). I was 18 when this one came out. I saw it with my 2 brothers and a couple of friends. Still my favorite cinema experience, it cannot be understated how epic this movie was in -99. Remember, most people were still analog in 99, internet had just started grow (explode in the coming years). In Sweden 30% of the population were online in 1999.
This was a great reaction. So many people get overwhelmed by what is happening but you did not see to become overwhelmed at all. Maybe you even made a couple of very accurate predictions. ;)
I've only seen bits and pieces of the movie on tv. But didn't think I was smart enough to follow it and changed channels. My mind gets overwhelmed easily.
Thanks for the great video reaction, definitely need to watch Four rooms, The thirteenth floor, The Doom generation, Existenze. Four movies you may have never heard of but have a huge cult following.
When this first came out, it took us all by surprise...other than a few cool "cyberpunk/sci-fi" looking images in the trailer, we had no idea what to expect beyond a cool looking dark-futuristic action movie. It was that and so much more...
This series of movies are so much fun and really make you think. I am sure if you like this one you will like the all of them. Trinity is one tough lady through out all the movies. Cool reaction Lady Biss.

Yes, Keanu and the other actors trained intensively for four months with Hong Kong martial arts stunt performers in order to do their own fight scenes. It was especially tough for Keanu because he had just undergone neck surgery to repair discs that were slowly paralyzing him. He doesn't do many kicks in the movie because he had lost some of the feeling in his legs.
Loving your reactions! As you continue to watch the movies the story will get a bit confusing but interesting at the same time. I didn’t see this movie in the theaters but saw the second movie in theaters. They really went all out for the second movie when it came to marketing from TV shows, commercials, even a special edition for the cell phone for one of the companies. Can’t wait for the rest of the 3 movies to react if the Matrix from you!
Ah yes, this is one of sci-fi classics that spawned so many later similar movies and memes. I heard so much about it at work I finally watched it maybe 5 yrs after it came out and have rewatched countless times. Seen it with my kids and alone so many times. The sequels are good but the original is always amazing and it started it all. So glad you liked it and are hooked to see the rest. A-1 on the reaction 👍🏻
"Stop trying to hit me and hit me!" is the same as "Try not, do or do not, there is no try." Every time I encounter that scene Morpheus transforms into Yoda in my mind.
IIRC, before filming started, the cast had about ten weeks of fight training during pre-production before learning any of the fight choreography, so that they looked somewhat authentic in the fight scenes.
When I see Hugo Weaving in The Matrix, I picture him as Elrond talking about getting the one ring out of Rivendell and casting it into the fires of Mount Doom. When I see him in Lord of the Rings, I picture him as Agent Smith talking to Mr. Anderson
Humans being used as batteries doesn't actually make sense due to how thermodynamics works. They were originally going to use human brains as processors, which makes much more sense but that was changed to batteries because the studio thought people wouldn't understand.
I really enjoyed your reaction with this one. You have all the wonderful qualities of humor, sadness (with certain reaction videos), insight and so many other things. One thing I have to ask, what background music were you playing? I really liked it, it was very relaxing to hear.
The idea for this movie had already been taught by Plato, and can be found in the Allegory of the Cave (a cut from his most famous book, "The Republic"!).
I watched this film twice and watched it the second time after reading the "Allegory of the Cave", at the suggestion of my Philosophy teacher. It totally changed my perception!!!
It is possible to find the text of the "Allegory of the Cave" for reading, easily on Google (that's how I did it, I read the book "The Republic" only later).
I watched this movie 6 times at the movie theaters when it first came out , and it was the very first dvd I ever bought. Yes I am older than dirt , at least that is what my niece told me. I believe I was 24 when this movie came out. This movie totally blew my mind when it came out. Agent Smith is one of my favorite villain characters out of all the movies I have watched over the years. Thank you for your reaction of this film.
Hey Bisscute! Love your reaction for a great movie. Fun fact for this film: The character of Switch was an interesting thought study into the idea of transgenderism. This person was originally supposed to be one sex in the matrix and the other sex in reality. It was a cool idea. Unfortunately, they didn't have time to fully explore this, and they had to cut all of it out. Still, she has an androgynous look, she dresses in cream color rather than black, and she has pink glasses rather than dark. Very interesting idea.

I was 17 when this came out, its always cool to see the younger generations minds get blown by this movie, when it came out it was a cultural phenomenon.
I’ve been in tech, professionally since the early 90’s, amateur since the early 80’s, grew up in the house of an EE that designed and built computers. When this movie came out I worked for a large Internet firm, a well known one then, sort of now, you probably had an email address there. Anyways, this movie almost perfectly describes what we all wanted to build as “the cyber world”, and was a MASSIVE influence on how we built software and deployed it on global networks. Al Gore didn’t build the Internet, we did. Go down in my lab right now, there’s a dozen screens with a Matrix screensaver on them. Now, the movie is in fact an allegory for the authors life feelings, do some reading and you’ll find more. Take the red pill and see how far that rabbit hole takes you.
The leap onto the train platform always amuses me. You can see Keanu grab the wires. I'd take the red pill. I always want to know the truth about what's going on. The Wachowskis originally planned on having the machines use human brains as CPU and storage but the studio thought that would be too hard for people to understand.
He was in TV and movies since early 80s. His breakout was 1990 Bill and Ted's excellent adventure, which they did a sequel recently 😮😮😮. Then he got huge leading man status from the early1990s movies, Point Break and Speed! Which u should watch. He's had some really great and different roles. One of his best was in Dracula and of course the movie he's STILL thinking of a sequel,.... Constantine!😮😮😮which u should watch.
That sexy, for this particular lineup (10/10)! One of the best mafia films( based on a true story)! One of the best earliest Bank robbery films ever made! And my personal favorite Rocky film out of the entire Rocky franchise (1,2, Balboa, 5, 4).. The Creed franchise is a entirely different animal ( I really can't wait until I see your reaction)! PS let the Creed films come to you ("the reaction in your eyes and facial expressions is all I need, a I know I was not be disappointed")!
This has to be my all time favorite movie. 1999 was great 😂year for movies. American Pie, The Matrix and Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon, I lost count on how many times I saw these in theaters. Great reaction. 👍🏾
fun fact from the brothers who made the matrix movie, they switched from all human minds combined into a big super computer, to everyone is a battery because they didn't think the average person would understand the computer part. kinda understandable in 1999
I really do like your reactions. You look very interested and natural at the same time. You react quite often whit lot of talking but it's not disturbing. I am enjoying movies whit you like it would be my first time watching. I'm glad I can enjoy great movie experience whit "old movies" again.
I remember watching your reaction to this the first time, but you have the best female reaction to this movie, so I just had to watch it again. Your reaction to finding out that we are a virus, according to Agent Smith, is priceless. Thank you for the memory lane trip. Don't know if you hare going to keep in sequence with the other titles but Matrix 4 is out and that would be a fun little ride.
One of the best of all time! I saw it in theatres and it was completely mind blowing. If you want to see earlier Keanu his biggest and best are: Bill and Ted's(Excellent journey is part one and Bogus Journey is part two), Point Break, Speed. Those are all GREAT fun movies. Best wishes! 🎉
I don't think it is the true love's kiss that brought Neo back to life. The oracle told Neo that Neo wasn't the One in this life, but he might be in the next. In other words: Neo had to die to become the One.
Have you seen Goodbye Lenin? There's an interesting Matrix-related Easter egg in that film; one of the characters wears a Matrix Code T-Shirt, even though the film takes place in 1989-90.
3:23 "I think is Keanu Reeves. Probably is Keanu Reeves." Oh, yes. It's Keanu Reeves. You want to know something funny? This role was _originally_ written with _Will Smith_ in mind, but he passed on it so he could play US Army Captain James T. West in a movie called _Wild Wild West,_ instead. Now I've seen that movie. It's _terrible._ Will Smith has probably had _plenty_ of occasion to wish he had passed on that role, instead.
Wild Wild West was a decent, movie.... I enjoyed it (and the sound track)....... but the Matrix is 100x better at least lol....and it wouldn't have been the same with Will Smith.
While training for "The Matrix," Keanu and the others learned Shao Lin Wu Shu and a few other mixed martial arts. Then, for "John Wick," he learned jiujutsu and, believe it or not, a rudimentary form of ninjutsu, as well as other martial arts and gun-training.
It may be an unpopular opinion but I would recommend just watching the first movie and that's it. It's a fantastic movie that doesn't really need a sequel, let alone 3 more that don't come close to the quality of this movie.
13:01 This character, Tank, is played by an actor named Marcus Chong. I realize he's just a _supporting_ character, but I see incredible _potential,_ here. Unfortunate, the move me made during contract negotiations for Tank in _subsequent_ films in this franchise. He looked at the amount they offered him for both films and said they owed him _twice_ that, and when they presented themselves as unwilling to bend, he started making threatening calls to the Wachowskis. Accordingly, Tank disappeared from the canon, and Chong's acting opportunities have largely dried up. That was a _horrendous_ miscalculation.

Thank you so much for you reactions, your channel and your whole existence. Wish you all the best.... für Deine Online-Tätigkeiten und Dein ganzes Leben.
Did you see him fly at the end? You are so beautiful BissFliix! I love your funny reaction.
Thank you so much ❤️
I was 17 when this came out, its always cool to see the younger generations minds get blown by this movie, when it came out it was a cultural phenomenon.
Love your reactions on this!!😊❤
This movie is my favorite performance of each of its actors and my favorite movie in the entire Matrix series.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching
I must say you are very perceptive and smart. I watched the movie in the theater back in -99. They made so many grate movies back in those days.
One of the best movies. Music is the besttttt. Remember when it came out. So ahead of its time.
I fell in love with you watching your reactions... keep it going!
LOL! You are funny. Really enjoying the reaction.
1:29 "Leave a comment if you're feeling very jolly."
😄 I really need this way of encouraging UA-cam comments to spread across the Internet.
It's also filmed in Australia. All of the skyline was Sydney.
The first time I watched this movie I also said "Why didn't you put the phone in your pocket?" It still bugs me.
I've watched this movie 100 times and never connected the room 303 at the end with the one that Trinity was in. Great recall!
Love your comments, you are really liviong this movie. Enjoyed watching you. Till part 2 ❤
Whenever she says "Battery" or "Batteries" i died multiple times inside me, out of laughter... LMFAO!!😂🤣
Another amazing reaction, i figured out that you are the It girl for our times😅😅😅
Fun lovely, smart and a great voice
,

Speaking of batteries, hopefully Biss has "Batteries Not Included" in her queue.
Keanu did Indeed played John Wick. Also my favorite movies.
This has to be my all time favorite movie. 1999 was great 😂year for movies. American Pie, The Matrix and Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon, I lost count on how many times I saw these in theaters. Great reaction. 👍🏾
Thank you so much ❤️
fun fact from the brothers who made the matrix movie, they switched from all human minds combined into a big super computer, to everyone is a battery because they didn't think the average person would understand the computer part. kinda understandable in 1999
You're a magnet biss and your smile delightful
Aww you too sweet
Any time biss your special to me and your as sweet as honey❤😊
You are becoming one of my favorite reviewer! If you liked the Matrix, you might be interested in the movie Dark City!
John Murdock!
I agree, director's cut if you can find it.
32:05 it's called mk-ultra project monarch.
Biss trying her hardest to avoid the inevitable Babushka forehead wrinkles is an ongoing adorable theme on this channel. You can't escape fate!
13:51 This is really Keanu and Laurence sparring
When you wake up and find that the nape of your neck has a kind of connector port, that's where your real life is.
Got it ❤️
When Neo does the hand thing where he motions his hand to the Smith taunting him that's actually a Bruce move thing
Dang I forget how funny you are ,,the Resurrection Kiss 💋 I love that
Oh I see, haha glad you enjoyed that ❤️
Have you seen Goodbye Lenin? There's an interesting Matrix-related Easter egg in that film; one of the characters wears a Matrix Code T-Shirt, even though the film takes place in 1989-90.
The Oracle told Nei that he's going to have to make a major choice
They did ❤️
He had to die to become the one. The oracle said "mayble in your next life, who knows" when she said that he didn't have it
3:23 "I think is Keanu Reeves. Probably is Keanu Reeves."
Oh, yes.
Great review and narrative video❤
Thanks so much
Biss, had to come back and see you do your usual Biss thing
always take the red pill. it might be uncomfortable but you'll be thankful you did.
While training for "The Matrix," Keanu and the others learned Shao Lin Wu Shu and a few other mixed martial arts. Then, for "John Wick," he learned jiujutsu and, believe it or not, a rudimentary form of ninjutsu, as well as other martial arts and gun-training.
Amazing
It may be an unpopular opinion but I would recommend just watching the first movie and that's it. It's a fantastic movie that doesn't really need a sequel, let alone 3 more that don't come close to the quality of this movie.
Not all that unpopular. The sequels weren't all that good and got worse with each one. Had they been handled differently...
Oh interesting ❤️
2:50
Biss: So she disappeared in the phone
Smith: Yes
epic cut😁
Awesome reaction of my favorite The Matrix movie!!!!😊😊😊😊
BissFlix watches the Matrix and gets charged up.
Haha ❤️
