      Hi Martin, thanks. I actually use plastic tubes for many things, you should take a look at my new book: ua-cam.com/video/mVLof0uXqyE/v-deo.html

    Hi Barry, what do you wet your fingers with before the tube insert. Great pattern.

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Fiona, Its rather similar to spraying clothes before you iron them. If you wet the hackles before you place them to dry, they will remain in the desired position.

    What a great bug. Heading down south to warmer climes in January and will fish a river teaming with cream caddis pupa just like this one? I would love to tie a box full, one problem can't find this hook anywhere in UK🤔. Any idea where I can get hold of some Barry? absolutely love your stuff👍

      Hi sorry for the late reply but I have only just seen this!! You can get the hook I believe from Fulling Mill or Leeda they are the Mustad stockists in the UK.

      @Thefeatherbender wait, Mustad is buying these hooks from Fulling Mill?

    Did you use Mustad prior to your sponsorship? I have never tried their fly hooks but have always had a bit of an avoidance towards them due to their bad reputation in other types of fishing. "Mustards" as they'd be called... because second time you take out a lure with them on it all the hooks would be rusted through and brittle as mustard lol

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  Рік тому

      Hi Yes I did, that's why I have sponsorship and work closely with them on fly hook development. I don't know much about the other Mustad products but you should note that many of the other large fly hook brands are made by Mustad also.

    Barry Why double wip finishes? Is a 7 turn not good enough?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  6 років тому +2

      Hi Gene, just habit. Although Dyneema needs a little more than regular thread, it's very slippery.

      Thanks Barry, I never used Dyneema. I have only used 8/0 Uni thread
