Loved the commentary ❤ thank you!
Excellent! He is back again! Looking forward to listening and being taken to place beyond imagination. Thank you again for all of your great work.
Just finished the listening and wonderful job. I particularly enjoyed the behind the scenes analysis. I also find it fascinating that smart and clever women must be "witches" or something worse. Just reinforces the idea of how skewed our history is when we are most likely missing 50% of the perspectives due to male writers.
Great to hear that you liked the commentary! Very true that we get a pretty narrow set of perspectives in ancient literature. Finding ways to fill in the gaps and read between the lines is important work, and makes stories like this even richer when you can see what cultural attitudes are “encoded” in them.
Lovely to hear you again . ❤
Hi! Just found out your channel and your voice and storytelling is really something! You have a new subscriber and I hope to support you so you get more views. Keep up the good work!
Loved the commentary! I am very curious about Livia Augustus and her poisoner. I think it was Lucusta. Good to have a new addition to Wine Dark Sea and an epic too! Awesome! 👏 ❤
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it! Yes, it’s interesting to have the details we do about a figure like Locusta-probably a lot of murky characters like her in imperial Rome, but not recorded historically, let alone known by name. She was associated more with Nero and his mom Agrippina.
You make some of the best thumbnails in the game.
Thanks a lot! Picking out which images to use is always fun.
This is a sacrificial comment for the Almighty Algorithm.
Glad to see you posting!
Hail Circe!
