    It’s amazing that in almost all of Jeff’s encounters with the public he’s described as “panhandling” when I’ve never heard him ask anyone for money. Those people who have offered him money have been refused. BTW I grew up in Mount Dora and his encounter there at the library was a disaster for the police.

      1hlinkjr1939, WE THE PEOPLE have a 'Super Power' - Jury Duty, ( and voting) So we should make sure EVERY jury VOTES for the CONSTITUTION, if the Mount Dora case was a disaster for the police, they should learn to vote for the CONSTITUTION, when they perform their PUBLIC SERVANT duties. Hmm, I wonder if they get a CLUE, when they SWEAR an OATH to the CONSTITUTION for that PUBLIC SERVANT job .

      Yeah I grew up in the Ocala national forest. The library at four corners is extremely chill to the homeless including the rainbow kids. Makes me sad any library acts like that.

    “He does it to entrap cops”. No, he does it to raise awareness for the homeless and educate people on their rights. And it’s working. That’s why the cops got scared when they realized who it was. They can say “he does this to entrap cops” all they want, but they’ve obviously been educated from his previous encounters. Jeff would probably make a great teacher, he’s out there educating people who don’t even want to learn. What a talent. Thanks Mr. Gray!!!

    Entrapment: the action of tricking someone into committing a crime in order to secure their prosecution.
    So that cop is saying that ordinarily they would violate his rights but since they "know" Jeff is "trying to", they won't. Jesus. That really says a lot about that specific cops ethics.

    I think the worst part about these officers is that they still don’t understand the law.     I saw the original video, which made the cops not look bad. After seeing their body cams, I now have a different opinion of them. They demonstrated that they would violate you anyway they could if it wasn't for your camera and large following. Thanks Jeff!

      I mean, what did you imagine was the reason the cops led that manager to a more private spot in that original video? I knew right away the cops did it to shit talk Jeff. This is why I think Jeff should talk to the business later and explain what he's about, it could help, because the manager just ended up thinking the cops are good, and Jeff is an asshole.

      @@tamtheman2099 - While theoretically I agree, that isn't possible when you're running a business like a Restaurant (that you probably don't or may not own). Inviting someone in and giving them a free meal when everyone else has to pay, would be discriminatory and alienate other customers (who would also then, want a free meal). I'm quite sure Jeff would refuse anyway (or that also), given the fact that his goal is not to eat, but to exercise his Rights while educating others in them.

      They dont need to argue it in court because they’re allowed to lie to us. As long as they aren’t enforcing the made up law, they aren’t technically violating his rights. They can tell him that he’s not allowed to stand next to a parking meter, but they’re allowed to lie.

    I'm a veteran and seeing someone innocently remind people that there are homeless veterans makes me feel good. Not that they are homeless but rather that they too, need help and should not be forgotten. How anyone could take offense at this caring message baffles me. We as a nation should never leave our veterans out in the cold.

    I love how cops always consider this "entrapping cops". It's an audit. If you fail it, that's on you. No one is entrapping you or baiting you or causing you to violate rights. They're just capturing your response to protected activity. If you respond by violating rights, that's on you. No one made you do it.       When you think about it it wouldn't mater if he was or wasn't homeless. He would have the same rights. He seems to play it by ear on whether or not to press the issue about panhandling which is probably smart. Sure the Supreme Court ruled on it but how many people knew they did before they starting watching this channel? It's amazing how many city ordinances across the country are in complete violation of Supreme Court rulings or just common knowledge of constitutional rights. Think of all the city attorneys who never speak up and say "no we can't really do that" then the city gets sued.

    It doesn't matter if you own the sidewalk or not, every roadway has a pedestrian right of way easement, that permits people to walk there, even if there is no sidewalk. It's usually a predetermined distance from the center of the road, varying by state, county, or municipality.

      Exactly. It could be 100% private (bet it's not) but with that footpath there it's clearly open for public access.

      @@getahanddown I'm confused. Can't people be trespassed off private property regardless of if it's open to the public? Like Walmart for instance - it's open the public but they can trespass whomever they wish from their property. I'd think the same would apply for private sidewalks open to the public?

      a private business can not trespass anyone from the sidewalk. though some cops allow it.

      @@jasras5003 There is a difference between a sidewalk and say a private parking lot or the walkway in front of a store that is completely on private property. One is public and the other is implied public. You can be on private property that is implied to be accessible, like a parking lot for a store, but they can ask you to leave. In this instance, he is on an established public sidewalk directly next to a public road. I would find it highly likely that the city is the one that pays and maintains that sidewalk, but even if there isn't one, there are easement laws in most states, especially for an area like this with shops and parks that should be navigable for a pedestrian

    In all of these hundreds of audits, this was the first time I have ever seen a cop actually use a survey. I had come to think they were to stupid to use a cell phone. Good for her.

I was just saying an ape who uses a stick to catch termites isn't necessarily smarter than the rest. Now a monkey who dips its yam in sea water for flavor does make it a food critic. One dog sits on command and the other one doesn't, but they both get a treat. Which ones smarter? The one who could understand you or the one who got a treat without performing for it?

    I love your work. I think sometimes, (not all times warrant it), but when you are back in those areas, to re-visit with the info from dispatch or BWC video info and point out to the caller that we know they lied. That goes a long way in exposing these "good citizens that just want you to move along".

    When the cops knew that he was within his rights to stand on a public sidewalk, they move to plan B with the parking meter crap. Unbelievable what some LEOs will do to keep from looking like idiots. If they only worked half as hard to uphold the rights they took an oath to protect as they do looking for a way to circumvent them. The restaurant manager should have been required to express why Jeff did not have the right to stand there instead of Jeff explaining why he did.
