As a piano teacher, your analysis is truly inspiring! Every teacher aspires to be like you and use your techniques. Amazing to be able to connect to such a wonderful artist. All the best!
Thank you!!
Yes, I love teaching!
What interesting analysis with references to other works of the same/ similar theme. The left hand practise emphasis on pinky finger is so true. Another excellent video. Did notice the middle part melody ( Part B) is all left hand you presented them really melodious-ly.
A mixture of Cuteness and Exultation have been the permanent feelings dominating my existence, since the first time i came through this etude as an adolescent. Ιn your detailed analysis i can find profound knowledge of the score and its demands, rich imagination, uncommon charm and rare sensitivity in discovering the hidden virtues of any musical text, especially those composed by Chopin. Perhaps a lullaby between two childish games! A simple idea of innocence, being elaborated in an absolute and masterly way by Chopin as a composer and presented by you as an analyst. Once more, thank you so much, Dear Maestro!
The idea of lullaby is so cute and charming. Thank you!
Your feeling when you was playing the ending was so true! "Oh! My God! Oh! My God!" Haha !😂
😀😀😀🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your dynamics are so so beautiful. Wonderful lecture and analysis.. Thank you for the reference to the Polonaise Fantaisie and the reference to Chopin s mother singing the folk theme to him.
Thank you very much for watching!
For me this is an etude of a story of a very drunk person, in one evening of his life:
First he is a little tipsy (in italiano we say giro la testa), than and the trio he finds a beautifull girl and he falls in love with her (of course only for a moment, and he doesnt seucseed to get her), than, in the reprise he is even more drunk and heavy, and in the finale he gets mad and than falls into beautifull sleep
Fantastic analysis and great teaching of this masterpiece. I love it!
Hey my beautiful brother, I'm going to watch you on the 17th September 2024 in Zurich Switzerland, maestro🫶
How wonderful!!!!! I'm so happy!
Chopin was a genius!!
Yes he was!!!
Mr greg can u tell me the piece name u played at 16:50 please??? Its very dreamy beautifull♡♡
Fantasy on the Polish Themes op.13!
Another one of my favorites. It sounds like something that Thelonious Monk might have written if he was around back then.
Yes!
Thank you so much for analysis 25-5 :)
Thank you for teaching us this for free, really aprecciate it sir Greg c:
I'm happy you like it!
you play so well! i learn this piece now
Thanks. Good luck!!!
Thanks for this video, we see your passion for piani it's a pleasure to listen you talk about this piece
Your video is "absolutely gorgeous!" I can hardly believe the richness of what you are offering us. This is the first video of yours I have experienced . . . and immediately subscribed . . . am a fan!!!
Wow! Thank you so much! Welcome to my musical world! You have around 170 more videos like this one to watch! Hahahaha . Enjoy!!!
@@gregniemczuk Thank you for the warm welcome to your musical world--it is an exciting place . . . and I look forward to the 170 videos and hope there will be more after that!!!
Amazing lecture! Thank you a lot👏
I love this etude. When I listen to it, part A is for me like falling and braking fragile fragments of Chopin’s sensual heart. And part b is like healing nocturne.
I didn’t know it is taken from polish song))
綺麗すぎる!!
Thank you for the recommendations.
BEAUTIFUL ANALYSIS, Personally I’m not going to practice this now because I have very low experience, but this analysis helped me to understand better this piece. Thank you so much + new subscriber!
Welcome!!!
Regarding the second section (Piu Lento), I think that Chopin was reiterating this melody also from the middle section (in B major) of his Polonaise Op.26 #2. They sound very similar!
Indeed!
Thank you so much for this! I just found out about this series tonight and its been immensily insightful. That second part A with the 3 notes was really cruel from chopin. The first A section was already very uncomfortable to learn, then those middle notes were introduced! I really love your dynamics for the middle part, I can't seem to differentiate the melody enough on my upright without it sounding way too loud, but perhaps that's partly fault to both my technique and my upright's action. Looking forward to the other tutorials!
How wonderful!!!!! Welcome!! Welcome to my huge COVID-19 pandemic series of all Chopin's music for piano! You can enjoy more than 180 videos in English which I have made in 2020-2022! And I'm still finishing this series by making some posthumous works! Enjoy!
The style you play the beginning, is totally what I aimed for!!! Some telepathy thingy is going on 😂😂😂
Wonderful!!!
Hey, i just wanna say i absolutely love you’re videos. But i am searching for the name for the polish folk piece you played at 17:07. It’s so beautifull. Do you now te name of that piece it’s very heartwarming.
Peace ✌🏻
Yes!! It's a paraphrase of "już miesiąc wzeszedł" !
My piano teacher said I should try learning this and gotta say you video really helped me.
As always you make me realize how beautiful music is
I'm happy to hear that. Good luck! Good choice
I noticed that the middle section of this etude is a variation of the first and last sections, or maybe it's the other way round?
Well.... A distant connection but....might be!
24:11 please do show us the score from time to time. Thank you😊
These videos were intended for music lovers who are not musicians and cannot even read the notes. That's why it looks like that!
Dear Greg! Your lectures are so inspiring and full of true love to Chopin's music! I feel how my love and eagerness to learn some etudes grows! A little question: is there the same polish melody in Scherzo #1?
No no, it's different. In the Scherzo no.1 there's a Polish Christmas Carrol.
As behind humor often there is some real drama i feel in the „wrong note“ part a kind of dramatic thing..not really a joke..i feel it (mostly in the a part of the „first etude“) like a kind of emotional injury, what leads to this kind of artistic peculiarity..
thanks for your video..you are great!
Wonderful theory! Thanks!
Спасибо огромное за вашу работу!
Love you, thank you
Thanks for your teaching, I've learnt a lot from you truly!
Thank you so much
Hello, thank you for the video! However there is one thing i don't get : in part A, when are you playing the second note with right hand compare to the broken chord with left hand? Do you play it juat after finishing the broken chord? Or at the same time?
At the same time!
@@gregniemczuk thanks! I struggle very much to play this then ahah xD it's way easier without broken chords.. Guess i have a lot of hours of work ahead of me!
Thanks again!
very informative
This is my favorite etude!
Wow! You are true master !
Grazie :)
Is that the false note one?
Yes!
Hopefully I'll get to appreciate this etude a little more after tonight, because in general it's one of my "worsts" (the beginning and the ending of it).
I am with U I am afraid! 😱
