Yamaha 5000 Update - 8" and 10" toms

A quick update to show you the new additions to the ‪@YamahaDrumsEurope‬ 5000 kit. An 8" and a 10" toms. Both made in Japan as the kit and these date to January 1982.
A good clean up using Dr Liston's Cymbals Cleaner (to degrease the chrome), then the Chrome Polish to bring it back to life. On the shells, used Dr Liston's Drum Remedy. Despite some light surface scratches, normal with pieces of this age. A quick change of heads from another kit and a rough tuning, but I have to say... They sound absolutely amazing. Hope you enjoy the video and the sound of the toms, despite the fact that it was captured entirely on my iPhone. They will be making their way into some future videos.

I used Music Nomad drum detailer and was real happy with it. The tom tuning is AWESOME! I wish I had an 8"

Hi Eric. Music Nomad is really expensive here in the U.K.
Dr Liston’s is a U.K. brand and U.K. made product but really really good. Absolutely surprising the difference.

We’re getting there my friend. Just need to find a way to incorporate in the setup. Either a rack system or some individual tom arms and clamps.
