I was really disappointed that they didn't offer the yellow for the 2019 model, I ended up going with the blue instead. Really enjoying the bike so far, but imo you can tell exactly where Yamaha cut corners to keep the price down. For example the handgrips, and all the controls on the handlebars in general. The seat is not the best although I'm getting used to it. Finally out of break in at 1400 miles, she's a beast.
Thank you, this was a perfect review for me. I have an 2017 FZ-10 and am looking at the 2019-2020 MT-09. So this was great to hear from somebody with the same bike for comparison.
@@bobfrankfurt9449 I'm sure it won't hurt to open it up every now and again. I've heard the majority of the breaking in happens within the first 50 miles where you seal the piston rings. Look up motoman break in. He recommends to run it hard for the first few miles to fully seat the piston rings.

I just sold my mt 07 and bought a new matte black mt 09. The difference in power is intoxicating. Once I rode my neighbors mt 09, I knew I wanted one. I dont recommend it though if you are a new rider.
Gurpal Singh sure I would. I have had several different types of sportbikes but the power and torque of the Yamaha triple is awesome. These motorcycle have instant torque compared to my old cbr 600rr.

It's because quick shifters cost money, and for the street most people don't give a shit about them. And the MT line are not track bikes... pretty simple my man
I recently bought one, same as the one in this video and it's AMAZING! Coming from a 2001 klr 650 with 42 hp to this bad boy. Was a bit nerve racking at first till i got a feel for the clutch and the throttle response. Went from b mode to A mode in 3 days and now it feels natural, full control of the bike. This bike is a keeper for sure.
@@ToxicF4TE Put in about 8k miles before moving up, I've learned so much on that bike during that time. Klr650 for highway riding is super sketchy since it barely has any pull. Mt09 is more than enough for me, mpg is 45 to 53 depending how hard i ride it, pulls really hard any gear in A mode. Mt10 mpg is 30 something, keep that in mind.
It really depends what you’re going for but if you want better fuel economy with still a lot of speed go with the MT-09 and save the money for an exhaust for it ;)

XInFamousEliteX I mean it’s still fun to ride even when you’re not ripping on it cause you’re breaking everyone’s neck cause they don’t expect a bike to sound like that. But it took me a while to get used to the height of it so I could get more comfortable in the corners but overall since fuel economy isn’t a factor I’d definitely go with the MT-10 ;)

Which GSXS did you had? 750 or 1000? How did they compare to the MT09? I'm in the market for a newish naked bike since I'm ready to sell or trade my Monster 696 and I'm looking for either a MT09, XSR900 or Z900RS. But I like the Suzuki as well.

Break in is for the breaks and tyres to wear in not the engine hence the name , once done enyoy

I have the 2017 and the front suspension is adequate, pretty comparable to most performance bikes. The problem is the rear suspension as it SUCKS.

Yes, the new mt-10s come with one from the factory. But mine didn’t have one so I had to install one
I got to get on a bike with one of those. It seems like a lot of fun to ride

Why you need quickshifter? It was proven slower than clutchless shifting and I saw lot of failures of the electronics.

What. You have to confirm that you realy right about the QS. Since 2017 all MT09s has a QS. Atleast in Europe and USA.
I looked at all the 19 mt09s that the dealer had and none of them had a QS
