Can't wait to make this tonight. I chopped up all the veggies last night so when I get home from work I can throw this together. I did notice that the printed instructions do not include the minced garlic.
I will be sure to update that now! add the last 30 seconds of sauteeing the onions.

It really was! When I made this I was thankful I was lazy on the day I carved the ham.
I have enjoyed split pea at cafes, but never cooked them. They would serve the soup with crema and 'candied' ham on top. Thanks for the recipe.

I will not eat split pea soup out of a can anymore. That fake smoke flavor is nasty. Plus, homemade split pea soup tastes so fresh.
And it is SO easy to make!
