I thought the channel was just on a break. I don't follow any comics stuff outside of that channel and this one so it wasn't until today and some Googling I found out what was going on. Hope Tom isn't damaged by this and that Jim lands on his feet. That's all I'll say, I don't want to turn Tom's comment section into a gossip board
1:37 that foreshortening from the hammers handle to the leather brace is so good. It doesn’t take away from the throw behind it. The way it drags you into the next page against your will lol The King doing his thing.
As I watched your video, I was wondering about Thor's diminished strength and I think I might have an answer. I believe the Marvel handbooks have said that Asgardians are considerably stronger than Terrans, so when Odin (Marvel's biggest jerk) reduces Thor's strength and powers, he's merely reducing him to "mere" regular Asgardian level. Still very strong compared to us. I also remember the handbooks saying that Mjolnir weighs 42 pounds, not factoring-in the "worthiness" enchantment.
That page of the Wrecker uprooting the building is a favorite JK piece of mine- it should be the textbook example of how to build scale over the course of panel to panel transitions
Thor is probably really tired in this issue, because according to Marvel continuity, he fights the Thing in FF #73 between pages in this issue when the Wrecker leaves him at the construction site and that's where Spider-Man finds him. They go to the Baxter Building to help Daredevil fight the FF and then Thor heads across town to the bank to resume his fight with the Wrecker.
In addition that FF features late Sinnott inks on Kirby's Thor, which may have not happened since Journey into Mystery # 83. I don't always like Colletta on Thor, but Sinnott seems off to me as well.
Yes. It seems that this is another example of the person dialoguing the story not understanding, or trying to undermine, the intentions of the person writing the story.
Thor without magic is as strong as a 650 pound human being can be. He's canonical as being three times as dense in flesh and bones as any man. I'd put him at Spider-Man level raw power, but that's still only a tenth his usual power.
@RogerFusselman I think that all Asgardians and Olympians were described as being that robust. I don't recall anyone picking Thor up unless they were a powerhouse too. It fits with Kirby's design with the Thing (who was 500 pounds) and the Hulk (who was a full 1000).

Is that post-Kirby canon or does that canon date to Kirby's time?
