Momotaro’s fatherly instincts are truly remarkable. He understands Gentaro’s growth so well, giving him the space he needs to mature into a strong, independent silverback. With a perfect balance of guidance and trust. Momotaro is such a wonderful papa! 💙
I think they are both willing to talk things out ,like two day’s ago when they sat constantly looking back and forth for about 20 minutes or so ,almost like they were communicating ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I think this is good for Momotaros development. He can be quite possessive and reactive since he was raised by his mother only and not a troop. He is learning as well.
Perhaps Momo realizes what Gentaro is up to. Momo was 13 yrs old once and sees Gentaro's provocation for what it is; he's simply not responding to it. It doesn't mean Momo's weak, not at all. If he wanted, he could do a lot of damage to Gentaro within seconds.
New Year, New Momo! Maybe Momotaro wants to hand over the reigns & spend his days living with his Genki girl in a lovely, multi story home in a lush rainforest where he can chill by cleaning the house 10 times a day & making vegan platters 😀

Momotaro still outweighs Gentaro by 50 plus pounds. He's still bigger and stronger. Momotaro is generally a peaceful and gentle Silverback. It may be that he's not receiving signals from Gentaro that trigger a negative response. It would be wonderful if it could stay that way, but I don't think that is possible for the long run.
@@Gretta1759none of these young silverbacks or blackbacks we watch will be able to seriously take on their fathers for a long time. Momotaro, Shabani, and Haoko are in their prime. These aren’t older silverbacks on the decline.

Gentaro is an incredibly special gorilla and should definitely have offspring at some point BUT it’s not unheard of to have more than one silverback in a troop. Even in the wild. It’s more common in Mountain gorillas but it’s happens in Western Lowland gorilla troops too. I’ll just cut and paste “Yes, western lowland gorilla troops can sometimes have more than one silverback, though it is not the norm. A troop typically consists of one dominant silverback (the leader), several females, their offspring, and occasionally subordinate males, which may include younger silverbacks. These subordinate silverbacks are often related to the dominant one (such as sons or brothers) and may remain in the troop for protection and social structure. In such cases, the dominant silverback makes key decisions, but subordinate silverbacks may assist in defense “
There have been times when Gentaro would calmly lie in front of Momo and Momo might understand that this is Gentaro showing respect. Gentaro never bothers his Mother. Also Momotaro has been watching Gentaro play nicely with Kintaro. Maybe he realizes that he has a good older son Or, maybe he is just so proud that Gentaro looks just like him.
I appreciate the super thanks. The position of the tire remains intact even this morning. Well, it was snowing much. There were few visitors to the zoo. The temperature in kyoto is lower but we don't have much snow. Today was an exceptional day. Gentaro was so cute to greet us while collecting foods on a snowy day.
regardless this doesnt change the facts. Gentaro needs to go to bachelor group or start his own family. this wont change. zoo has had 13 years to come up with a plan.
Way over exaggerated, yes Gentaro should be moved to start his own family but I really don’t understand why you are acting like they are going to fight to the death at any moment. Momotaro is very intelligent and is not aggressive.

飼育員さんらがタイヤの中に野菜等を入れています。寒い日は誰も築かないし、取らない日もあります。

I'm not positive but I think the tire gets like that when Gentaro throws it hard enough to make it go up and around the beam above.
