It's such bullshit that Miranda's affair is romanticized as her "finding her true self." But Steve was villified for making a one time mistake. 😠
Thanks!!!
There is a lot of bs and hypocrisy in this reboot. They should have just called it “And Just A Midlife Crisis” or “Just A Hot Mess”
Yes. I am not going to watch the reboot.
Miranda is doing what middle-aged men have done for eons; cheating with a younger and hotter lover, justifying it by saying they're lonely or confused, and then walking out on their loyal partner. If Miranda were a man, people would hate his guts.
This reboot is a mistake period.
Just because the actress of Miranda is gay doesn’t mean they need to make her character gay
I promise you that’s one of the reasons why they did this shit.
Oh she gay fr ?! Oh
@@teamminnei1080 ur late lol
i bet you it was her idea
@@Marsha_Ann I really know nothing about her and kristins life .
There was never a hint, a wink nor a nudge in SATC of Miranda ever contemplating the possibility of being gay, she infact was horrified when it was suggested to her in an episode. She chased Steve in the end, she proposed to Steve and then she chose to take him back after being heartbroken that he cheated.
This does not make one bit of sense, feels more like an autobiography of Cynthia's real life awakening.
Exactly! I would have loved this as an option for Miranda if they'd originally given her this as part of her storyline. I think it's just coming across as way too forced because every minute of this reboot needs to be "woke." I love the inclusion of LGBTQ relationships in movies and television, but Miranda's character was written as straight. Sure, people change, and sometimes they uncover things about themselves they hid or didn't understand, but flesh it out, give us maybe some backstory that she never told Carrie or Charlotte about her identity, etc. It just came out of nowhere and contradicts how the writers presented Miranda. If you change the foundation of a character, you need to provide the audience with a backstory that was hidden or give us something that makes sense for the change.
I disagree with the characterization that Miranda was "horrified" when it was suggested she was queer. I thought her willingness to experiment was fairly inclusive for the times. It also demonstrated that she *tried* it. This wasn't some socially sheltered woman, who never had a chance to explore her sexuality, as I've read some claim. She explored and didn't enjoy it.🤷♀️ I agree with everything else, tho.✌
Yup
Exactly and I’m betting it was a condition of her returning. Ridiculous.
This series should never have happened
Oh, sneaking around is not fair to Che? Forget about Steve, her husband of 15+ years and father of her child. Please let this midlife crisis end.
and che, hey i am non binary, i screw every one i want, what a grown up he/she is
It's more narcissism than anything.
My heart is broken for Steve; I just don't understand how Miranda can just act that way after she was devastated when Steve cheated on her. I just can't believe what a train wreck this entire show is!

It is called entitled Me Me Me Feminism.
It goes against her character the muzzle just create a new character and don't call her Miranda because she's making it totally different person doesn't make sense for fans of the show
One of the things that made Miranda more interesting was that she was a masculine straight woman - characters like her on screen were rare, and they emboldened such women to be themselves in real life, instead of feeling pressure to be girly. Nixon has now turned her into the stereotypical lesbian.
Exactly.
And it's so sad
great point.
Nice
I always felt like the character screamed lesbian in every way...so I feel like this is not a surprise. I can see where people might feel disappointed by the way they went with it given how great Steve has always been and how terrible Miranda is to do this to him
The real Miranda would have laughed at the ridiculousness of Che
Right
Exactly.
As a Steve and Miranda fan I'm shell shocked. This is all happening so fast. I could have tolerated a divorce, but the cheating and the sudden "I'm so in love with Chea" has poisoned my good will. I would have liked to see their relationship (Miranda and Steve) honored with a sort of "conscious uncoupling" WITHOUT the flippant affair or the revisionist history "I was never happy in my marriage". They would have been a good candidate for something like that. Since all Steve has ever wanted was Miranda to be happy, I could have easily seen him being open to an "open" relationship or agreeing to take an extended break/separation where they can both play "hooky" and then come back together to assess. However, Miranda has been completely selfish and insensitive to Steve in this entire process. Making their entire relationship out to be some sort of "fluke". It didn't have to end this way and I don't know why the writers chose to do it in the most rushed and disrespectful manner possible.
Completely agree
100%
I don't know why the writers think fans are on board with the whole Che storyline.
Agree. It’s just so Cynthia and the writers can make her gay. No matter how much the show betrays the original characters - and Steve!!
Why can Steve and miranda still love each other but want to experience other things
Destroying the Steve and Miranda story arc was a slap in the face to long term SATC fans. They had great chemistry, they were a fun couple, and Steve was so likable. This is not in alignment with Miranda's character.
There are many great couples in real life that divorce all the time. I can’t tell if the fans hate the show or the reality of what happens in modern times now. Interesting
This show wasn’t made for the purpose of being good. It was made to virtue signal. It’s the only reason it exists. No one asked for this. These women are too old.

Yes, and to do things that make no cense for the original characters! I’m all for bringing the characters into the current age, but the things they have them doing?? Carrie’s an award winning author with legions of fans and she’s reduced to be a podcast?!! And all the “woke” dialogue is just painful to watch!
They came back to choose violence 😭 It's a complete blood bath
Exactly. That’s what what they’re all doing. Including Dexter.
This was the worst reboot ever and that’s saying something, considering how bad reboots have been
Cobra kai is the best watch that instead of this crap. Thank me later.
Dexter new blood is horrible as well!
Agree. Terrible
Not even Candice Bushnell is impressed with what they done to these characters. She made a reference to All involved basically exploited the characters for the sake of getting Big paid. She even as far as to say, This is not a reboot at all. This is a spin off series cause it looks or sounds nothing like anything original. WOW! BANG BANG!!
youre right this all makes no sense to me 😂😂
The terrible thing about this whole situation is that Cynthia Nixon asked the writers to make Miranda = Cynthia Nixon, just because she’s part of the LGBT+ community her character who previously was explored and confirmed not to be gay now is one because Cynthia wants it, and even if she founds out later in life, being a selfish immature self absorbed to her family just for someone she barely knows it’s plain wrong. This show sinks lower every episode, and they’re supposedly in their 50’s and the show treats them like senior citizens, so wrong
Yeah, i mean. I'm part of the community and this is just NOT IT. Why make Miranda gay when literally ON THE FIRST SEASON of the OG series they showed us she isn't. Like, no... just, no. We don't need this, specially at the spence of hurting Steve and doing him so badly.

I agree it keeps getting worse!! The girl she cheats on Steve with too is so wrong!! She isn't anything special and she isn't funny at all her stand up isn't funny!! She can't tell one funny joke!! I listen to a lot of stand up too and she would never make it in the comedian world she is terrible
Watching this episode, I just couldn’t believe how Miranda went from being the strong, smart, independent and sarcastic character who knows who she is in Sex And The City to becoming more tamed, insecure, overly upbeat and nervous in the new series. I get that people change in time but this is a total 180 in the character.
It doesn’t really seem like much has gone on in the series except with Big’s death, Carrie mourning for the first few episodes and Miranda’s affair and pending divorce to Steve.
Also I miss Samantha. Her character was the comic relief that we needed!
How are 50* year old women confusing lust with love. Shes excited for something new and willing to throw away someone who loves her w/o conditions. Even when she tells him their getting divorce he truly wishes her happiness. This is why men commit suicide in such high rates. No one gaf about the man in this situation. If I was messing with someone else’s wife and didn’t know I’d cut it, no matter the feelings. Shits sad af
Agree
Not only her actions don't align with character integrity but her personality has done a complete 360: not sarcastic, not jaded, not funny, not confident. If the writers wanted to appeal to the younger generation they could have put that weight on new characters.
I completely agree with you; it seems far off from the character development. But watching my mother's age and her not being far from the characters in the show (age, but do in race as we are Black), I watched her become meeker. Still, she would probably say more chilled person and less forthright with her opinions and more defaulting to doing what is best aligned with her having not to bother with anything complicated. It's an interesting transition to watch an adult do that. So it's not unfathomable that people's energy can change as they get older, even if it is annoying as hell. lol
It’s probably dementia. Can’t think of anything else for this character.
The writers really think this is enjoyable 😂. The pride that Cynthia takes in this writing is hilarious.
I know. This is like a train wreck. And just like that, the franchise is over. Lol
Wokeism is trash
Che behaves like a narcissist. Love bombing, and she CLAIMS she just assumed that M. was in an open marriage, then shames M. and immediately distances herself like she has no attachment whatsoever.

“Your life can be transformed.” People don’t suddenly realize they’re gay. Even if you’re exploring your sexuality, it’s usually a long and difficult process and it doesn’t justify betraying the person you’re in a relationship with. Not to mention this whole show just comes across as extremely fake-deep by suddenly including “non-binary” characters and people of different races just so they can avoid being called ignorant by tv critics. It’s great to be diverse but there’s a huge difference between wanting inclusion in your show and adding as many trendy and popular topics around sexuality, race, etc so that you can be given praise from politically correct viewers. It just feels so forced and unnatural.
Well, let’s see what we have so far. Carrie‘s new friend is Indian. She has a job where she has a podcast with an Asian guy and a trans woman. The Asian guy is dating a black female. Charlotte wants to be best friends with another mother… Who is black. Miranda has a teacher who is black and she’s now a lesbian in love with a Hispanic trans woman. Charlotte has two children… One adopted Asian girl, and another daughter who wants to identify as a boy. Is every box checked off yet?

I feel like Miranda has always wanted someone more on her level than Steve but I think no one will love her like he does. She craves excitement. I hope she won't be crushed later and comes running back to him. He deserves more than that.
I have got a feeling....thst is what will happen....i can't wait to see the next episode to see what happens in Cleveland when she goes to see ché
This keeps getting worse and worse. Miranda NEVER gave any hint about her being sexually fluid. People who comes out later in life know, have a feeling or something about their sexuality which this was NEVER presented previously. This came literally out of NOWHERE. People don’t just “become” gay/bi whatever you wanna call it. Horrible line story …. And Just Like That, these writers made a joke out of this series
You have more logic and knowledge of screenplay writing and character development than the people in charge of this show. HBO should hire you to fix this mess.
Meh the very first episode of SATC I sensed Miranda and Cynthia were gay and I was always waiting for a gay storyline to be written for her character. Surprise surprise when it was given to Samantha instead
Didn’t she had an episode on SATC where her character pretended to be gay to be in some law firm? And then she kissed that lesbian gal in the elevator. And her words were “yup still straight” and the lessy said “yeah you are” and rode the elevator down. I think maybe Cynthia wanted to turn Miranda gay but the writes had huge other plans for her character Aka get her “accidentally” pregnant and then single mom, then get her with Steve at the end.
Did you miss the part where Miranda says, "She's channeling her inner Meredith Baxter."
Agree, They are forcing it and trying so hard its pathetic
I don’t believe Miranda is in love with Che. She’s just so over eager to dive into this new adventure with this new person, and to get away from her stale marriage, she doesn’t want to stop and think.
I really hate how the writers have done Steve! It's so disheartening......
Right?! Hate that they try to portrait him as an idiot in the revival when in reality, the real idiot is Miranda.
I know. It's like they've turned his hearing loss into a running joke and they've dumbed him down so much. It breaks my heart.
They had to villainize him to justify Miranda's change or else the audience wouldn't connect to the story. Little did they realize how terribly they went about doing this and the audience sided with Steve anyway.
It irks me that she cheated on Steve after making a huge deal about him cheating in the first movie. He was honest with her right after it happened, yet she was creeping with Che before springing the divorce on him. All while assuming Steve was unhappy in the marriage like her. It seems out of character for her to flip like this without even expressing her feelings to him. But they'll do anything to keep up with the woke times, I guess.
Apparently we can see the real Cynthia Nixon is selfish AF in real relationships since she turned Miranda = into Cynthia
Yes, you have a point. I do think the character Miranda could be sweet but also very sour, and had traditional male energy in the way she had to be aggressive as a women lawyer in a male dominated world, detached from feelings and ambivalent about her relationships, reluctant to live the family life and struggling to identify and express her feelings. By the time someone's in thier 50s, worked thier whole life and fulfilled all thier responsibilities to society and raised a family, they realize life is more over than ahead, and caring what other people think and expect of them becomes 2nd to first feeling more alive again instead of living on automatic pilot. I do think Steve was way nicer than her but probably what she needed at the time and to raise a son. Maybe because his affair was so devastating she was both hesitant to blow up thier marriage and still a little bit in denial of her changed reality. This show reflects a lot of what's going on in society today and In know we don't like such intense departures from what we are used to and expect.
@@openyourmind3763 huh. I don't think so. She is just done with him, so she can throw him in the trash with no attempt to ask him anything. Done goodbye

I really don't know if I like where this is going. Miranda cheating on Steve is something I don't think she would have done, because he cheated on her so many years ago. The biggest difference to me is that Steve cheated on her once. He told her immediately because he wanted to save his marriage. All in all, Steve is a wonderful guy. Miranda has been cheating for weeks. I understand she is unhappy, but she needed to communicate with Steve on what she is missing in her life. Who knows. Steve may have welcomed a third. Miranda never gave him a chance. She is selfish. She should have talked to Steve instead of just ending it the way she did. My heart goes out to Steve. My boy.

All of that was on purpose to sell Miranda running off and cheating. In another, better written show, Miranda would have been dissatisfied, she would have been cutting ties with the old her and trying to figure it all out. TOTALLY agree! The writers have COMPLETELY destroyed these characters, especially Miranda! They took a once brilliant, responsible, snobby, and intuitive woman and turned her into an airhead bimbo running around like a college sorority girl. I get secondhand embarrassment just watching her.
Why does she have to act so much older than 55? She has blond hair at 55 in real life, but for some reason, has grey hair at 55 in the show. And Carrie's character-How common is it to get hip surgery at 55? Steve- What 55 year old is ready for convalescent home? So off base. Why does Miranda's skirts look like Mormon length? This show gets shittier by the episode, mainly because I am offended by their pushing 55 to be more like 70. They can act 55- and not be old downers
Enormous agism... Steve deserves better....Che and Miranda has zero chemistry. Ugh.
They decided to replicate Cynthia's story with Miranda... Simple as that
I can’t with this show. I am the BIGGEST sex and the city fan, but this show is just one giant disappointment. They did Samantha dirty, they’re fucking up all the plot lines and it’s just all bad. I am not watching anymore
I can see Cynthia Nixon cheating on her real spouse with this woman. 😂
Smart decision. For age story lines
Justice for Steve!! ✊🏼
I am so glad I never waisted time watching this series reboot.
OmG my sentiments exactly
It's not even worth watching without Samantha, anyway
0:16- Cynthia Nixon looks really great here. She looks fresh, vibrant, sleek, age appropriate and trendy. I don't know why Miranda has been styled in the series the way she has been. She looks like Storm from X-Men with all that white/silver hair. Why? When Cynthia's own hair doesn't seem to have reached that level of grey yet?? Additionally, while the curly bob looked really chic on Miranda in the first SATC movie, for some reason it's coming off as disheveled grandma-ish in AJLT. She and SJP need better styling in AJLT.
I thinks she look haggard and older than she really is
Yes bcz they make 55 look like 75 in the show. They make 55 look and act so much older than actual 55. The writers have some weird delusional perception of what 50s is
Personally, I'm loving this reboot. It's different. I don't want to see more of the same and these things happen when people have been together for a long time. It's life. I agree that Miranda's hair looks terrible and grandma-ish, and I think SJP needs to be a couple of inches shorter and blunt cut and it would look stunning. It looks raggly on the ends, too long and very ageing.
I read an interview that Pat Fields gave and she seemed to indicate that Miranda's fashion choices for AJLT are based on what Cynthia wants.
Oh my gosh you guys really want to criticise every little thing about this series, even the shade of her hair!
They should have stopped SATC after the first film smh
The series should have ended with the film where Big stood Carrie up and left her at the altar. Totally ridiculous that she took him back. Kim made the right call to be done with this.
Gawd this scene broke my heart for Steve !!!!! 💔💔💔😭😭😭
Hot Debbie and Steve = justice for Steve
This is the worst… she left her husband for that ?! Lord have Mercy
What happened to the fun and feisty SATC that we all know?
The writers have lost touch with reality and their fans.
God they look like Hell. Run Steve Run. Is this the Witches of Eastwick II..
The hearing aid shtick was such a weak move, as if they were trying to make him look silly. I like what he said though... She always treated him like he wasn't good enough and he couldn't be bothered fighting her on it this time.
From what Che said I assume they want an open relationship and she'll show up to see them at their show and they'll be with someone else and she'll look like a fool... At least I hope that's what happens.
@Kit Cat less that a decade, they've just styled them in hoodies and jeans (which to be fair is how people in their 40s dress)
@Kit Cat yeah, I just meant they are not that much younger than her really... There was a bigger age gap between Carrie & Big.
In mindset you're right... Che is much further along her journey than Miranda. Miranda is just learning about her sexuality where Che is fully formed as who she is.
@Kit Cat I'm not really holding SATC to the highest writing standards. Going back and rewatching it... There was a lot wrong with it.
I get there wasn't the greatest deal of representation when the show was originally on, but they always had gay characters... Including Samantha having a relationship with a woman. Miranda being gay feels tied to Cynthia Nixon's own sexuality as opposed to a logical progression for the character.
I believe the first thing the actor told the producers of AJLT when they called him was to tell them he had a hearing aid. In real life, so I think they just worked that in there for the actor. I think that's what I heard from another podcast about this show.
They should bring Samantha‘s girlfriend Maria back to date Miranda. “you want fireworks! I’ll show you fireworks! Ping!”
Maria would Crate & Barrell Miranda's expensive dinner ware in no time!
There are so many ulterior motives & personal agendas in this reboot that any sense of the entertainment and/or artful writing has been completely lost.
Yup. They literally flushed the franchise down the toilet.
The fact that Miranda can’t see that Steve is more than she ever deserved, and that she is insane enough to truly believe that Steve wouldn’t be scooped up by someone not only more beautiful than her, but also kinder than her, blows me fucking mind. She is like the lowest of the low. She’s not even in the same league as Steve and frankly it was a miracle that she somehow got Steve to even fall for her to begin with.
If this were a Tyler Perry film Steve would be snagged by a hot girl half Miranda’s age, just as the Chea character broke her heart. Miranda would run into Steve and his new tenderoni and her jaw would hit the floor.
@@brittneypine6628
Tenderoni? 😂 you just taught me a new word
How do we talk about Miranda’s storyline without pausing to realize she has a manufactured storyline for 6 episodes to avoid any development of the fact that Carrie’s husband died?!?! WTF! A phenomenon built on the relationship of Carrie and Big. Two movies, like them or not, built on her relationship with Big. All this hype for a reboot. Shock everyone with a death of Big in episode 1 then no more said, no reflections, no therapy, no time off from the podcast, no flashbacks, no tears, no mental breakdown. She was more distraught when he called off the fancy wedding. We get to watch from a window as she writes her book through the seasons to represent the passage of time…then moving on to Miranda’s newfound sexuality and love of weed. The only flashes of Carrie we get are moments spent with her new friend. What happened to a series also built on her OLD friendships…no development of her and Anthony, not a mention of Stanford (I know he died in real life but not even any “fake” texts or calls to him?)…left bewildered. Is it that they chose to scrap flashbacks of Big because of the real life Chris Noth’s sexual allegations? This new mess of a show screws over all the dedicated fans who have been there all these years vested in the storyline. And I don’t buy the casts’ interviews saying they’re trying to give us something different as these ladies age - nah just garbage writing. And just like that…I won’t be watching anymore!
Well said!! What a shame they ruined something special.
I can't even watch any more. I love you Steve
She was never really n2 Steve.
Miranda, heads up... there's nothing in these streets (the GAME has changed). Stay in your marriage.
I dont know I am just really having a lot of trouble liking Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte in this show. The supporting cast like Steve are actually pretty great.
Ok so I’m calling this now maybe it won’t happen but she’s going to Ohio to chase this person only to find they are sleeping with someone else. She should’ve just asked for an open marriage. Steve prob wouldn’t of gave a crap.
Literally just wrote that in a reply up above-LOL
I think this is going to happen, too. Che is open about sleeping around. They literally told Miranda that they don't do "traditional." Miranda said she's ok with that but I don't think she knows what that means. She would have been better off asking Steve if he'd be OK with her having a fling with Che than asking for a divorce because Che will not commit.
This is so absolutely ridiculous that these episodes are becoming one joke after another. There are more "real life" situations on Sesame Street.
Can they end that show already?😒😒
In the next series Miranda's relationship will end in 6 months
She will end up living with 10 cats
.... Just like that!
👀To be honest Miranda kinda was mean to everyone on the show at some point. Miranda from my perspective seems like an individualistic type. She decides she wants a divorce on her own. She doesn't operate like someone in a relationship.
i agree, she didn't learn to be selfless from all those years of being with someone, its kinda sad, i thought when i was younger all people learn to be good with age but its not the case
First Big dies, then Carrie, CARRIE gets a hip replacement, and now Steve and Miranda are divorcing?! Toooooo much. My tender SATC heart can't take anymore.
Because Cynthia Nixon said otherwise she would not come back. She’s an executive producer too and she pushed for a lot of changes.
It's ridiculous, really. A complete train wreck.
They have made Steve and Harry seem more like 75 or 80 rather than 55. And people aren’t necessarily doddering and boring at 75 or 80 either. I wish the characters were more fun like they used to be.
Why does Hollywood love to introduce Hispanic characters if gay
Sooooo, since when Miranda is gay??? She made it clear in SATC season 1 that she was not gay. I'm confused. A 55 y/o woman does not change her sexuality in 24 hours. And why Miranda is looking like 80 y/o when is in her 50's?? In real life, she is older; however, looks much younger than her character. Definitely something is NOT right in this reboot...
Cynthia Nixon is the only one enjoying this reboot! It’s all about her. 😊
No one should be surprised about this, CN is gay, so they made her character gay as well, but it doesn't fit, this show is terrible overall
“Well, have a safe flight. Whoever this is.” That got me.😂
This s just awful I’m cancelling HBO
I guess with Samatha gone, and this train wreck we know who the Star was/is!!
Why do they have Steve unable to string words together, and getting lost at the market? That has nothing to do with the actor's hearing loss. He seems like someone with early dementia.
I'm surprised they didn't go that route with Steve worrying about getting dementia like his mom.
This is sad for me. Why did they have to ruin Steve and Miranda? I have always liked Steve even though his early affair was wrong. But they worked through it. I don’t like that they’re having Miranda mirror Cynthia Nixon’s real life. It takes me out of the show and I really wanted to like it. Bad move.
"What you did - that is love. You love." Not gonna buy this new version of Miranda in a billion years.
I can’t wait until Che breaks Miranda’s heart. Steve deserves better. To be honest, he always did. He gave and he gave, but it was never enough for Miranda.
The 1st film was for me the ending of the story.. They should have stopped there. This is stupid
Miranda !!!!!... what are you doing?????..
Omg... I saw such hurt in Steve's eyes..
I get that Miranda needs to be fulfilled but.....
Idk... this was soooooo wrong
Yeah, I’m not watching this train wreck…. They better not touch Harry!!!!!!
I think the people behind the show are the ones who are 'touched'... ;)
Chea will dump Miranda eventually. I just feel it.
Che is a total player. She doesn't love Miranda. She doesn't even want to date Miranda. Even in the preview for the next episode when Miranda took off to Cleveland to find Che, she said, "I'm not your girlfriend!!!!!" Miranda is so incredibly delusional that she thinks she is going to leave Steve and go live happily ever after with Che. WRONG!!!!!! It's obvious that Miranda is going through a HUGE midlife crisis that has totally washed away every last ounce of common sense that she once had. As soon as she snaps out of this ridiculous fantasy land that she's been living in, I think she is going realize what a MASSIVE mistake she's made.
Ummm wtf I remember when they made Samantha feel bad for having a girlfriend!! Now all of a sudden she doesn’t mind?
I didn't get the impression they made her feel bad. They tried to ask her about her relationship, but never took her seriously because Samantha didn't believe in love or long-term promises
She was never CRAZY ABOUT Steve.. it was always like she could take or leave him
They really thought they did something. Cynthia needs to be stopped. We don’t want to see her life in Miranda’s. It she wanted to put her life in an art form make a movie or a tv show.
I don’t know why I keep watching. This ruined who miranda was. I have no problem with her being In love with a woman, but how dirty she did Steve was just unacceptable when she was so angry when he cheated. Also, I remember how she was so bewildered at Samantha being in a relationship with a woman, I mean it made no sense how this came out of no where.
Che is going to break her heart?
I really think they should have just left this alone. The characters have been become a total shadow of their nineties personas. I realise people evolve as they get older, but it's very rare that someone becomes a completely different person. Miranda was rational, cynical, whip-smart, dry and normally the only woman holding her own in a room of icy businessmen. She's unrecognisable now and getting lectured by 20 something non-binary students about pronouns. Pretty absurd.
Please pull the plug on the new episodes! They are ruining what was once a great series!!
