3 years later...this video is one of the best videos on this subject matter. I've seen plenty, but you are the first to explain, diagram and demonstrate the solution to the problem. Great content!! Thank you, Sir.
I've watched a bunch of these videos and yours is the first to actually show which wires to hook the resistors too. Everyone else just says hook them before the bulb and that's it with no more explanation of which wire to hook them to and what to do with the ground. Excellent, thanks.
Thanks, Keith, 3 flasher modules, 1 week checking fuses switching wires around and finally checked out UA-cam. I never would have suspected the indicator light. Made short work; cut the wire. Will look for a diode here in the US. Appreciate your video. - Allen Moretsky in Florida
I just wanted to say thank you for the great video!!saved my life!! Helped me alot!! I have a 2020 500 excf that i got last summer(2022).. the guy changed the turn signals to LED and made a mess!! Cutting wires, no conector, just twisted the wires togheter with electrical tape... i fixed all that mess with the help of your video!! Good job! And i've watched a bunch of your video, very well done! It keeps me entertained during the long winter days here in Canada!!
THANK YOU! I had the 4 way flash problem until I followed your tip of removing the indicator bulb. As you stated, two LEDs worked fine, but a little fast. I bought the LED flasher relay a few days ago which fixed the fast cadence. Today, I just reinstalled the front LED blinkers which have blue arrows facing the rider and amber facing out. At least with that, I do have an indicator for now. I will install the diodes so that I can get the indicator working again. Thanks again!
Great explanation. Currently planning an led signal upgrade on 70s bike. OEM set up on bike has no ground wires on signals, expects to get ground from plastic housing. So, decided I would upgrade to led and actually ground each signal using two wires from signal solution. Wanted to troubleshoot before I started, as I had heard about multiple issues. Many videos discuss the hyper flashing and all flashing problems, none explain and demonstrate solution as clearly. Yours is best description I have seen. I have led signals, electronic flasher to replace bimetallic OEM and premade diode harness being delivered. Will test it all attached to harness before removing incandescent system. Fingers crossed!
Thanks, Pardner! I had the same issue when I put little LED turn signals on my 2024 DR650. I used 1Amp 1n4004 diodes, and they work splendidly! Much appreciated!

This is awesome, just the video I needed & explained perfectly. I had fitted leds to my yamaha thunderace with an adjustable flasher & led on the dash. I couldn't figure out why one side worked OK but the other side didn't, so I flipped the polarity of the led in the dash & the opposite light worked. Checked the diagram (in the haynes book of lies) & I noticed both positive poles go to the bulb. So I tried a standard bulb & got the same result that you show in your video. Now everything makes sense, Ive just got to sorce the diodes. Thank you 😊 Ps: I also hate hacking up wiring the harness but needs must.
