@@ari024x In my opinion, Kieran was a huge part in creating the budget esk8 sector. Idk if you’ve seen the picture, but the dude believes in his product so much that he rode a freakin meepo board to his wedding!!
Got a v3 6 months ago put 500 mile on it most fun thing I’ve ever bought. Now I’m spending hours trying to decide what to get next. I NEED IT! Ownboard Zeus, Hurricane, Atlas??? Tough choices. And I’m just starting to understand more of the technicalities. I wanna make the best choice.
ASMR 33 you can always remove the extra linkage on a double kingpin truck to make it a single. I had fun taking a set and putting the linkage from one and stacking it onto the other making a triple kingpin truck. It actually was better running the triple on front and single in rear than stock. I'm not really a fan of double kingpin for the rear, and this was just for testing. My boards are set up very unconventionally: I reverse my rear trucks to turn with the front rather than opposite. This creates high speed stability. Front trucks are Zeros (Ackerman style) for extra steering. I also use full kit Waterborne Surf adapters with their carbon extensions front and rear for another level of steering and carve ability. This gives me incredible lean angle and turn agility while at the same time incredible stability, traction and grip. I'd probably get the Zeus between the two though the Hurricane actually looks tempting. Be nice to see these two in a comparison vid.
10% discount also on the ownboard zeus see youtube review Scott Davies don't now how long this will last but i think a strong alternative for the meepo hurricane. Comes with cloud wheels and 97 street wheels. No AT wheels yet it seems but AT wheels are not for me.
I am a 200cm tall, 130kg australian who rides his Evolve GTR to work, the gym, just everywhere really. Best way to commute. I need a new board and I am not buying the Haeden unless they cut 20-30% off their price. I end up looking more at these high specced boards because of my mass and use, around 50 - 100km a week with big hills, so my biggest concerns are always payload of both the hardware against general breakage as well as performance, then stance. I have size 16US shoes that are very wide and a long stance and on the GTR i am still struggling to find a comfertable stance length and am always worried about rubbing my back foot heal when turning. I wonder how this board will match up
I would really like to see a comparison test between Meepo Hurricane and the new Ownboard Zeus. I'm just about to buy one them, just not too much review out there to see which worth it better.
I considered both boards also & I just snagged the Zeus - why? - I liked the TKP trucks for speed, the big Panasonic/Tesla battery pack @ 898.56wh, the newest Hobbywing ESC and the 120mm Cloud wheels ( + sweet pneumatics coming out in a couple weeks) - all those things made the difference for me. That said, either board will still be a blast I'm sure!
I went with the hurricane just because you can only put up to 6" tires on the Zeus. I personally like 8inch off road tires for my riding needs. Both are great, but it depends on your needs
Meepo has come a long way, i remember when they were starting out 4 yrs ago. I almost bought one but decided to build my own dual 6374 with 6 inch wheels. Thanks for sharing.
Daniel I always look forward to your reviews, as they're always thorough, well made, entertaining and honest. Having said that, I purchased 3 Meepo's a few years back; one for me and two for my sons. My all-wheel drive GT was great for about 3 months, then started suffering losses of power and eventually only 2 wheels of the 4x4 system only worked. Meepo customer service was total shit... I basically through away $750.00. The other two boards worked well for a year and a half until the esc's failed. I was able to order new esc's and they work again. However the shitty experience I had with they're customer NO Service regarding my AWD-GT was so bad that I would have a very hard time ever purchasing another Meepo product.
I ordered mine first day. Never had a belt driven board, but I ride my Mini2 every day and I love it. There's a holiday over there so I won't get it for a couple of weeks but it's worth the wait. Go Meepo!
I love Meepo board and had the Meepo board V2 since day 1, but the price is personally too high for me to buy the Hurricane. I ended up getting a Propel Endeavor S as it is cheaper and will most likely have a more comfortable ride than this one. However if it wasn't for Meepo announcing the Hurricane I would of never been on the market for an all terrain in the first place, so good job Meepo! Glad to see the company grow!
@@BuddyRobStolz1 The fact that the Propel Endeavor S was only $999 is the reason I bought it. This board is almost twice that. But I see where you’re coming from. I don't know how to get around that unless you use very expensive parts.
i bought a wowgo v2 when they first came out a long time ago. the board was very quick, had a nice top speed, was quicker to top speed than my friends E boards they had and rode better. just an all-around better board. right up there with bossted boards. came with a set of rear wheels and two new foam pads for the battery and logicboard. only issues i ever had was a motor click which i found out was from one of the magnets coming loose and breaking up in the motor itself. once cleaned out it ran like normal. never replaced the magnet. still just as quick. all in all i paid 300 bucks for the v2 and it was a powerhouse that has stayed reliable til now. but if meepo had this when i was buying the board years ago i would have probably gotten this. thing is sweet
I'll fully admit I was shocked by the price, but clearly Meepo has chosen to go a different route than the budget boards they are known for with the Hurricane. Those specs are extremely impressive. really like the aluminum battery box too, that's a fantastic feature.
not really! look up ownboar zeus, you get bigger battery, higher speed, WAYYYY BETTER truck than DKP (terrible on high speed boards) and wider deck + free shred lights for the same price... now thats impressive. meepo is just greedy, hurricane should of been at 1400 range with AT and cloud tires (and ditch the 90mms)

@@williamyoung3766 on a board that have that big of range, spending 1-2 hours more on charging is really no issue! so 3A charger is fine. as far as MAX capacity it zeus has 265lb and its all an estimate for both meepo and ownboard, the thickness of the forged carbons are the same, the lenght is almost the same but zeus is wider so if anything zeus is actually should be handle more weight! thats simple physics. and speaking of SAFER, YOU MUST BE JOKING! if you think DKP ona 35mph AT board is SAFE! ask anyone who knows anything about skateboarding and see what they think of going 25mph + on a DKP truck! the wobbles are gonna be terrible!. another thing is LingYI ESC is notorious for being unstable and too harsh! tho it is improved its still less safe than hobby wing. to be honest i think you just like hurricane more for whatever reason so you trying hard to beleive its a better board and dont get me wrong. Really curious about your thoughts on Zeus vs Hurricane. Pity Meepo didn't went with a RKP board (The Roadster). Would have made a nice stable GTR style board
Awesome video I can't wait for the follow up.with all these new boards coming out with there high specs and low price I wonder if anyone would buy a hadean.
Totally want this board just not sure if it’s totally worth the price. Before the price was posted I was thinking 1200-1400 but nearly 1700. Can’t wait for next review of this board! Great content btw!
Looks so awesome! The pneumatics alone are an enticing buy at their current price Surprised you didn't include the Ownboard Zeus in the comparison of batteries, their 13s4p is an 898 wh of panasonic cells, maybe you edited the video before it released though.
@@ryanberardelli2363I've heard Ownboard Zeus used second handed 13s4p is an 898 wh of panasonic cells, it was from the used Tesla. Sorry for the confusion.
@@williamyoung3766 It is true that they use the same type of cell as the model 3, but since Tesla has shifted to its own cells, I believe Panasonic is able to sell the cells / a very similar one to other companies. It's a Panasonic cell, not a "tesla cell" - not to be confused, because tesla cells are, in fact, only second hand.
I can answer that, I have never had better customer support from any other company. I bought 4 so far and had two minor problems which one wasn't even a problem apparantly but they flew me the parts within a week mayb faster, the issue that wasn't even a problem, slight jingle in my hub motor on the last month of warranty. I am amazed they are offering one year warranty on this board, that means it is safe to buy before winter.
a little slow, perhaps. but in my experience its great. theyre super friendly and incredibly helpful. parts are always easily and readily available for them, too. so fixing it is usually no issue
That dude did an interesting strategy to market this board. Made it for racing which makes the specs and performance stand out from the rest. But I am suspicious on how it will be for the typical casual riding.
180A with 4p ??? Damn what are those cells ! I'm pretty sure it's just the max Amps not continuous discharge, anyway with a ESC that only draws 35x2A you don't need that much discharge !
??? I am still on my 12s5p it does 40mph+ why do you need to go any faster? If you crash at 30+ you pretty will go to the hospital with a bill even bigger than the price of your board with the more premium health insurance...
I respect Meepo's story of establishing themselves, but I had hope that their future boards would focus most on quality and durability rather than speed and racing. The majority of us can't use the top speed and would rather have a board that are problem free.
@@bmrbca3658 I'm the kind that like to ride fast. I can maintain go 40km/h on my BKB Tayto easily. Though I don't think I'd choose DKP trucks for a speed board. This isn’t 4x4. And from my look the atlas 4x4 while Hurricane board kills it in range. If I want a 4x4 board I am going with something with a suspension personally. There will be a wait from any China board company with these newer boards.

In comfort how does it compare to a bamboo board? Like Wowgo AT2! I find the Wowgo to lack range and power, but I’m afraid that a carbon board won’t be as comfortable as my current bamboo as it has barely any flex! Thanks 😉
On rougher terrains the bamboo deck should be more comfortable, but they’re not the type of terrain you’d ride on continuously anyway so not a big deal to me personally. Pneumatic tires already make a big difference.

What is your opinion on the trx 3.0 coming out in a few weeks? is it worth spending $400 more for this board? I am a college student that uses an ELB to ride around campus but need something more capable of offroading because there are some bumpy surfaces. Thoughts?
I am in Ontario Canada I have to pay over 2200 for it is it really worth it. I don't race but commute to work daily on AWD PRO the cracks on road are ruthless I need all terrain tires to get too work more efficiently.
Even just 105 cloud wheels on belt drive board like the Zealot will really improve your commute. Between the flex of the deck and using real skate wheels over hub sleeves
Skate helmet, hard shell elbow and knee pads, gloves. For gloves, get something that allow you to hold the remote but also slide during a fall (flatland3d, 1protect, etc). Practice falling on those pads. You can start by just rolling on the ground with them and progress from there.

Hurricane is a GREAT choice for that price probaby my 3rd choice for a AT board under 1800. but on specs and build zeus is simple a better choice. alot of reviewers on youtube make $$ as you buy the product they make video of, so dont expect any of them to point out the negative. its more like adds honestly. either way you cant choose wrong theyre both great. good luck.
This video is 6 minutes long, for those waiting for the premiere.
Maaaaaan so exciting! This and the Ownboard Zeus close to each other. I feel an 'old school' comparison coming up 😅? No beltguards? Looking forward to part 2. Really curious about your thoughts on Zeus vs Hurricane. Pity Meepo didn't went with a RKP board (The Roadster). Would have made a nice stable GTR style board
yes i was wondering what happened to the roadster ...
@@mckdoeful they switched it up to the hurricane normally🤷🏼♂️
Meepo and Kieran = GOAT. Facts.
Review the Tynee off road!!
Awesome video I can't wait for the follow up.with all these new boards coming out with there high specs and low price I wonder if anyone would buy a hadean.
I love that u gave the history.
Totally want this board just not sure if it’s totally worth the price. Before the price was posted I was thinking 1200-1400 but nearly 1700. Can’t wait for next review of this board! Great content btw!
Hi I just want to say that this is an extremely well made video!! Well done 👍
Whoooosh! My 2 Questions: Weight and Recharge Time. I'd ask about Range but you've already said you'll cover that. Thanks! Go Kieran!
Looks so awesome! The pneumatics alone are an enticing buy at their current price
Surprised you didn't include the Ownboard Zeus in the comparison of batteries, their 13s4p is an 898 wh of panasonic cells, maybe you edited the video before it released though.
Repurposing batteries? No, thank you, I don't want to use second handed battery, especially after paying that much of money💀
@@williamyoung3766 not really sure what you're talking about
@@ryanberardelli2363I've heard Ownboard Zeus used second handed 13s4p is an 898 wh of panasonic cells, it was from the used Tesla.
I’m still curious though.. How is the customer support for Meepo? That’s a big thing for me in case something breaks, troubleshooting, etc.
I think you're the first to review this post release. I'm a big fan of meepo's products.
I personally like the Black Carve but this looks awesome!
Solid first impressions! Keep up the good work bro!
That dude did an interesting strategy to market this board. Made it for racing which makes the specs and performance stand out from the rest. But I am suspicious on how it will be for the typical casual riding.
My thing is 12s 4p has been out a few years now. Everyone is going higher up. 13s to 20s is the new ceiling.
180A with 4p ??? Damn what are those cells ! I'm pretty sure it's just the max Amps not continuous discharge, anyway with a ESC that only draws 35x2A you don't need that much discharge !
@@melkorWTF Molicel P42A, 45A cont. discharge. Yeah, it's not max. And I'm pretty sure they overkilled the battery for another purpose
??? I am still on my 12s5p it does 40mph+ why do you need to go any faster? If you crash at 30+ you pretty will go to the hospital with a bill even bigger than the price of your board with the more premium health insurance...
@@melkorWTF nope, it's 45A continuous per cell, so 180 continuous for a 4p. molicel has made some incredible batteries.
Awesome video! It's about time Chinese brands started putting P42As in their boards!
Where is new video!!!
Another Hadean Killer!
Hey @danielkwan are you going to do a review on the ownboard Zeus? Love your work!
Hurricane or the Ownboard Zeus? I think the Zeus looks better on paper especially with that 10% discount code.
also how does it stack up with BF Hammer and Exway Atlas? it's so hard to make a decision with all these new boards
I think it’s time to do another comparison video
@@DanielKwan I think Verreal RS Pro and Lycaon TRX 3.0 would be worthy to add into that comparison.
A new comparison video sure sounds good!
Yeah would love to see that comparison video of Zeus and Hurricane
“Meepo previous boards have all kind of looked like how much they cost” 😂 love meepo but #facts
I respect Meepo's story of establishing themselves, but I had hope that their future boards would focus most on quality and durability rather than speed and racing. The majority of us can't use the top speed and would rather have a board that are problem free.
Exactly. I doubt most people are riding around at 25+ mph, or want to. Same with huge range numbers. Quality, ride, and price are more important.
@@bmrbca3658 I'm the kind that like to ride fast. I can maintain go 40km/h on my BKB Tayto easily. Though I don't think I'd choose DKP trucks for a speed board. And 12s is not THAT fast (the Endeavor pro is 12s, 50km/h). A Lacroix supersport now THAT'S speed, but also not the same price ah ah ^^
Still a good price from Meepo considering the specs, but I'm happy I got the Endeavor Pro in pre-sale for the same price !
@@bmrbca3658 Have to disagree about range. I need something that can hold up for 20 miles. And climb steep hills.
what can i change from the hurricane. since I'm into direct drive? and will i sacrifice speed, torque, or range?
My name showed up in the video as a patreon, so awesome! I purchased a 2WD Exway Atlas based on so many positive things said. I am hitting refresh everyday only to find the FedEx status not changing. Did I make a mistake? I take it you have not tried the Hurricane yet, are you going to get one to review? I guess its like anything electronic, you throw down your money and something new comes that is cheaper and maybe better (?)
I have tried Hurricane and I had a prototype unit. I have the final one now still in its box. Just need time to shoot and stuff. If you need help reaching exway let me know
@@DanielKwan When do you think you'll make it? I've been checking your channel every day. I wanna know if the specs are true and how it rides because I really wanna get one.
If Anyone can help me on my board, the charger cap broke off, and was wondering how can I plug it so that no dust well go inside also I don’t want water to go in theee
How is Meepo profitable on this board? Component for component it seems to be the same cost of a DIY board with similar performance specs.
They make this shit for so cheap in China. Even the people selling parts for diy are making a profit.
I think they are just trying to expand their market for higher price board, because shit are tough
1. economies of scale
2. they get the parts way cheaper in china
@@jimmysyar889 Either way it is impressive.
The Hurricane is a powerhouse! There's so much more to cover and I'll do so in part 2 ( ua-cam.com/video/tdSO46Yccv8/v-deo.html ). If you'd like to get this board already, you can use my referral link for the biggest discount applied at checkout: dkwan.com/hurricane.
Also, CESL was frickin awesome. The finals were legit exciting to watch! Hope you're all doing well!
true but the Ownboard Zeus is still better with that 898wh 13s4p the new tesla cells
How much off is your discount? And when should we be expecting part 2 review?
@@Blin88890 $20. Should be within 2 weeks.
My dream would be a new NLS belt with the new ESC, same Deck, motors, truck, but every thing polished, no crazy paint job or apparent screw.
@@bpowell2502 Can you explain why? I've read the Molicel P42As can run 45a continuous but the tesla seem cheaper and rated for a lower discharge.
That "That's disgusting" part. LMAO!!! It was good to see you again bro.
I have been waiting months for the atlas 4x4. Shipping has been ridiculous. Would you think this is a better alternative. Honestly I expect the same acceleration, turning and comfort with way more range.
This isn’t 4x4. And from my look the atlas 4x4 while Hurricane board kills it in range. If I want a 4x4 board I am going with something with a suspension personally. There will be a wait from any China board company with these newer boards.
@@robm425 after 3.5 months I cancelled my atlas 4x4. I ordered the ownboard zuse just for the added range and high speed stability. Honestly exway is charging to much for the battery size.
@@robinhillierelectricrealto4409 agreed alot more decently priced boards with range hitting the market. Ownboard looks like a great kit.
I ordered the ownboard. With the 10% discount and shred lights included it’s such a good deal and ridiculous range.
@@robinhillierelectricrealto4409 yep their specs on here and the ownboard are tempting, but I am still saving for a Kaly or LaCroix. My Zealot S and Evolve GTX will have to hold me over for the time being. I bet you will enjoy the Ownboard and I hope it lives up to its specs
Perfect Vid as always...thank to the max Daniel ❗can I ask you kindly for a test / vid on the ownboard Zeus - seems like the specs are on top of the marked right now... Would love to see that 🤙🏻❗nice greetings outta germany 🌺
Awesome recap about the board.
Im looking to buy a new board, and this might just be it (even tho its belt)
What’s wrong with belt?
tbh....I'm a city esk8 er and am very curious about the WowGo Mini 2 that's been announced.... The Hurricane seems cool and all but way beyond my budget and use case scenario. But mosdef hyped for Meepo!!
V3 and mini were solid...this thing is insane
Thanks :)
Where does the Exway Atlas work into all of that? If it were Exway Atlas 2WD VS. MEEPO HURRICANE??!
oh boy you never disappoint (:
Which is beter to buy, meepo huricane or voyager?, and how can i buy it for cheaper price?
Thanks great video
Can’t wait to see the rest really great video but is this board safe ? I’ve had meepo before and I don’t know if I trust them overran
Love your stuff man!!!want to get me a new board so bad but I don't have the mkney, money, wowgo 3 is how I get to and from work but it's about to give out on me

Is this a decent on road board? I ve a wowgo 3x and looking for something that has stability, manoeuvreability and power for roads in general.
I like that cloud grip tape, they should offer it as an option.

Daniel wht you think BACKFIRE HAMMER or MEPPO HURRICANE
What*
MEEPO*
Yes
What is your opinion on the trx 3.0 coming out in a few weeks? is it worth spending $400 more for this board? I am a college student that uses an ELB to ride around campus but need something more capable of offroading because there are some bumpy surfaces. Thoughts?
So it was a Meepo Prototype that won the DYI if I'm not mistaken.
When does the second video drop?!?!?!
Aiming for within 2 weeks
Hi Daniel, if you were to choose between meepo hurricane vs endeavour pro which one would you choose?
Hurricane if I have no other boards. Endeavor if I already have a short board or street board.
Any idea if new budget boards are due at the end of this year? Specifically wowgo?
i hit like, ty for the reminder
Is it loud?
How does the new ling yi compare to hobby wing esc in terms of smoothness?
Almost the same. They behave slightly different but I wouldn’t really say one is better than the other now.
Question.
Can I put a better/larger battery in the atlas for more range or would that nor fit?
You can use higher capacity battery cells. Would need someone to build the battery pack. Some of my friends changed to P42A cells.
For the price atlas should have had a 700whr batter. I just cancelled my 4x4 and will order this or the new Onboard.
i want it!!!!
wow
Please review the ownboars zues
Can ESC be easily changed to VESC to unlock full potential of 4p Molicell?
"Full potential" isn't 100 percent it is closer to 70-80 percent. trust me it is more than enough. unlocking does more harm than good.
Between the flex of the deck and using real skate wheels over hub sleeves
get an EUC :)
Imma buy this now, I’m in need for an upgrade anyway
Does this board have different speed modes? As in you can choose its top speed?
It has 4 speed modes
I might have to pick one up now…..
$400 off now!
Have one ordered, can't wait!! Anyone out there wants a like new Lycaon TRX1.0 with 175mm wheel kit (and 120mm Clouds), hit me up!!
i just ordered this skateboard, is goin to be my first skateboard ever, what protective gear should i get? I'm in my late 20s and I'm kinda scared xd
Skate helmet, hard shell elbow and knee pads, gloves. For gloves, get something that allow you to hold the remote but also slide during a fall (flatland3d, 1protect, etc). Practice falling on those pads. You can start by just rolling on the ground with them and progress from there.
I love meepo since the start , but this model is freaking awesome for the Price point OMG
