Cracking review Lloyd, i've just bought a new 32" Summit Black Sporter and i'm loving it. I have owned the Summit Ascent in the past and had the barrel selector problem you mentioned but so far my new gun is rock solid. It handles smoother than the Ascent did and fits me better. The balance is slightly forward of the hinge pin which is perfect for long crossers. The weight is spot on for me at 8 lbs. Keep 'em coming mate.
Hello Lloyd! 😀 I want to thank you for this review, really thank you so much because thanks to this informational video I made the decision to purchase this one here in USA for $4,300 12 Gauge 30” Summit Sporting. Nice custom case with locks, actually this is my first over under, love it ❤ I took it to the range two weeks ago and put 250 Rounds Remington Gun Club 2 3/4 7.5 3 Dram 1200 FPS flawless not a single malfunction, beautiful oil rubbed stock finish and real nice engraving, I recommend this shotgun. 😀
I got a summit about 8 or so months ago. I’m a skeet shooter all the way and I love it for skeet. I’ve been breaking my records and winning at shoots with it. By far my favorite gun I’ve ever owned. I’ll be sure to stick with ceazur guini for a long time.
Have an 06 model with the old select a choke system..it's still as tight as the day I bought it....I like it being lighter..handles far superior to my previous berettas
Nice review Sir Lloyd. I'd like to see more of your reviews done "al fresco" . Nothing like doing a review at an actual gun range. Regards, Mega Frank 1960
Great vid as always bro, I really like this shotgun, I’m sure they’ve gone up in price by now. I really like over n unders like my berettas 686’s. Fun to shoot and now I want a prettier and better finished shotgun, now that I’m spoiled. Thanks again!!
Have you looked at the 690 series? I think you will be disappointed with the summit longer term. I think that now the prices have gone up, the summit is less of a good deal these days.
I own the summit ascent it it weighs £8 3 oz and it stacks up better to any shotgun up in the 10000 to $12000 range the gun fits me perfect I weigh a 125 pounds I don't like the invictus as they weigh £8 9 oz weight is dependent upon body and strength the balance is perfect on my gun 15000 rounds and it shoots the same as the day I got it out of the Box
I wound up buying a USA Browning 725 “ Pro Sporting “ over the Fabarm Elos N2 and the Caesar Guerini Summit, And I have regretted it ever since. Personally for $2500 I think the Fabarm felt better and shot better for me than the Browning, with less recoil. The Caesar Guerini is about the same price of the Browning $3500, but is way more refined. I’m going to shoot the Browning for now and later give it to my son. Then I’ll buy a Caesar Guerini or some nice Italian gun.
Hiya, I own a Fabarm waterfowler, then picked up a Fabarm Black Diamond secondhand. Finally I let loose and bought a new Fabarm Elos N2 .... I hated it, sold it just as quickly. So in the end took the leap of faith and got the CG Summit, I love this gun. It was like picking up a ferrari vs a ford. Since shooting this gun 2 other guys at the range have bought CG Summits.
For me, the DT10 is a different class, it's not really a fair comparison, except in terms of used value. I would take a used DT10 over a number of modern guns.
Well, I happen to own both models and I agree that the fit and finish is probably similar and the handling is superb with both but I wonder which gun will go a higher round count?
Well I bought one because of the (Summit) limited addition black and just found out that they are going to make another run so now after spending 4K+ on my summit limited black is now NOT a limited addition anymore so for the purpose I bought it for is no longer the case, feel like I have being fooled.
Hard for me to say as in reality I wouldn't have either. I appreciate them for what they are but for me both guns are too light. The invictus is more my fighting weight. Purely as a value proposition the Summit comes with more chokes than the 692 so if you are a fiddler or someone who shoots a lot of different disciplines that might suit you.
Imotepify you won’t go wrong with either gun, the warranty on the CG is longer I think and you get more bits in the box. But the 692 is a fine choice too, I would as ever, recommend trying both and picking the one that fits you best.
Do you think the CG Summit is a good beginners gun? A gun that won’t need to be upgraded to be competitive? Most guys where I shoot think if it’s not B gun then it’s a gamble and not worth buying. I have shot the Browning 725 and liked it, but I prefer the Italian styling way more than the plain look of a “work horse”. But I don’t know if that’s the best way to pick my first O/U.
@@nmhvactech5474 I think the CG Summit is an excellent gun and easily holds its own Vs the 680 and 690 series guns. I know guys that have owned all manner of way more expensive guns that now shoot CG, it's not a gamble.
I have been shooting clays for 30 yrs . And yes cg are an outstanding second hand buy for anyone i have had my summit 32 ltd since they came out . My son is14 and loves it too . Alli can say is if it feels right then it is . Only a mx8 pro sporter would turn my head .

Bought one, and i am utterly in love with it. Cheers from Denmark and keep up. We enjoy your work.
Thank you sir :)

good to know.
Great review Lloyd. A very nice gun for shooting clays. I'm with you on a heavier gun. To me it's better for tracking and follow through on targets.
Thank you.

Cheers Frank, I do enjoy working outdoors but time and British weather aren't always my friend. :)
Hahaha......understood sir.
as always great review!
Thank you.
Which one do you prefer? The CG Summit or the Beretta 694? Thanks for the videos. Greetings from South Carolina.
Greetings from Northumberland 😀 I prefer the 694 personally.
Great review Lloyd. Can you give us your opinion on the ubiquitous Browning 525 sportier 1 at some time?
Yeah sure, it's definitely on my list of guns to do.
Pick mine up tomorrow.

Not sure if you read older video comments but I would love to see a side by side comparison of the CG summit and the Beretta 694 by you!
Honestly that would be a waste of time. The 694 is head and shoulders better than the Summit.
I would love to watch your review on CG Temper sporting, Guerini entry level claygun...
I have shot mine over 10,000 rounds without any issues...The CG USA Lifetime warranty is a no brainer.
thanks man.
More like retails for 4K in the US the invictus is like 5-7k or so
Ouch.
It’s been two years. Still waiting on that weight in the description.
Just kidding.
Lol sure, let me just hop in the time machine and go get that for you 🤪

Great review and useful informations!! But!!!s it better than a guerini summit or invictus??
dont understand the question, this is a summit?

Nice, I'm not sure what's going on with the Fabarm OUs, they look good on paper but in the hand, not so much.
just a possible video idea, could you test different cartridges and chokes on the pattern board
I am trying, but the cartridge manufacturers don't seem to be interested in working with me.
Would you buy a used summit over a used DT-10? For the same price.
For me, the DT10 is a different class, it's not really a fair comparison, except in terms of used value. I would take a used DT10 over a number of modern guns.
You compare the Summit to the 692 but it's more in the 686 price range, are you saying it's as good as the 692?
Oh yes, easily.
Well, I happen to own both models and I agree that the fit and finish is probably similar and the handling is superb with both but I wonder which gun will go a higher round count?
Time will tell, I can't see any reasons why the Caesar would wear out any sooner.
I like your reviews by the way!

still got it? How are you getting on with it after a year?
Another great review, would you have this over a 692?

Lloyd Pattison I'm looking at a 692 this week that's 1 month old for £2300 for my first shotgun so wondering how they compare 😁

Does anyone know if there's a shotgun maker in the UK that's priced like the Italian guns?
No not really. These days an English gun is a bloody expensive gun or a rebranded Turkish / Italian gun.
Beretta 694 or this?
694 all day.
I just bought one, can’t wait to shoot it
And? how do you like it?
@@lloydyp I like it very well , (28”) the gun has a good feel, and swings well for me. I sure like your UA-cam channel, keep up the good work thank you
I’m a newbie and how do you think it compares to the Fabarm Elos N2
Can't say as I haven't reviewed the Elos yet. I will try and get one.

I wanna know why they are so much more money in the US
Can't help you there man, Taxes and distributor markup would be my guess.
Good info ... but I'd get rid of that Nike shirt. Nike is a horrible company.
