    They really killed it with this song. All four band members shined. It's fast but it has such an amazing melodic feel to it. Combining those aspects is not easy.
    As a big fan of Metallica this series was really entertaining to watch. Keep up the good work

    Fun fact about this album. After doing the kill em all concert at one of the Orion festivals, James thought to himself these songs are so simple and easy to play. So, this was his goal on from the beginning of the album. As opposed by Death Magnetic where they threw in a shit ton of riffs. Now Spit out the Bone doesn’t really follow that goal, but the rest of the album does.

    5:46 what'd you call me :o
    I was curious how this would go with so many people blowing this song up for you before hand; I'm glad it didn't make you expect so much that you couldn't dig what it actually is. I'd give a little nip and a tuck here for flow. I'm still not sold on how they go to the re-intro before the second solo for instance. It's a strong track though for sure. I actually like James' vocals throughout the whole album quite a lot - that's one aspect where I think Death Magnetic has been undoubtedly outdone here - but this is definitely one of the standouts with some of the coolest line deliveries he's had in a long time. Kirk's final solo here is one of the only ones he actually prepared beforehand for the album and it shows; I hope there's more of that on their next go-round. The lead guitar harmony after the first solo is also notable for me as a favorite from their entire catalog. The somewhat melodic and dynamic take on thrash used here and Moth Into Flame is something I really hope to hear from them again. It's classic Metallica but with just enough of a modern twist to keep it fresh.
    Yahtzee.

    Dude, I would love to see you do Megadeth! But Please do the originals! Not the 2004 remaster!
    In 2004 Dave remixed and remastered all the prior albums. And while there are a couple of songs that may have been improved, overall the 2004 remasters sound overly compressed and just not as good.
    If you start Megadeth you have to begin with the album "Rust In Peace" it is the pinnacle of Megadeth's Thrash much in the way that "Master Of Puppets" is Metallica's. But I recommend anything from the Original "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying", "Countdown To Extinction", or "Youthanasia"
    After you've tested the waters a bit you could also check out 2016's "Dystopia" It came out around the same time as "Hardwired" and while it may not be their best, its a damn fine album.

    • @Starcoma
      @Starcoma  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the advice! I think Megadeth is a good way to go.

    • @williamblackmon9136
      @williamblackmon9136 4 роки тому +1

      @@Starcoma You could also do a comparison between "The Four Horsemen" and "Mechanix" Dave Mustaine released his version of the song on Megadeth's first album since he wrote it. Metallica used his riffs and changed the lyrics for "Kill Em' All" after he "left" the band.
      Mustaine's version can also be heard on Metallica's "No Life Til Leather" demo. James hadn't yet found his singing style yet so it's interesting to hear.

    • @smittyramirez522
      @smittyramirez522 4 роки тому

      @@Starcoma You have to be very careful to check out the original Rust in Peace versus the remaster. I'm not sure if it happened on the others, but certain parts of the original recordings were missing and thus had to be replaced with new takes. Some of the new vocals in particular just aren't up to snuff compared to the old versions. The song "Five Magics" in particular is really knocked down a notch, so watch out for all that!
