Hi guys, I hope you enjoyed me reaction! I will watch with subtitles on future videos to get the lyrical impact as well 🙂 If you want to support me to make more of these videos you can 'buy me a coffee' - buymeacoffee.com/danblackwell ✌🧡
@PeaceBeatswithDanBlackwell Yeah, this song especially is just not the same without the lyrics. Maybe if you want to get the full impact of performance alone and also the song you could watch the video twice, first without and then right after with the lyrics in the same reaction video? I love this song, I'm sure no one will mind if you post a follow-up reaction with the lyrics if you haven't already watched the video with them on.
Great reaction, thank you for this. Always a pleasure to listen to Lara for the first time with someone. I recommend her rendition of Caruso, it is breath taking.
Lara Fabian is nothing less than fantastic. She is my Nr. One female singer out there. I saw her in Tallin 2022..she still got the magic for sure. Thank you for reacting to this wonderful artist and great human. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
Thank you for reacting to one of the most beautiful voices in the world. You noticed some influences of Lara Fabian on Dimash, so to really understand the techniques and the presence of this one, you have to listen to PERDERE L'AMORE. In my opinion, it is the best example of the influences she had on Dimash. It is the ultimate example. Merci de Montréal.
“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and composed the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during his own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on. The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella. Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance the En Toute Intimité, 2003, Paris Olympia version is even more dramatic ua-cam.com/video/SyILdRAOS88/v-deo.html
More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Aretha, Shirley Bassey, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 10,000+ attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music, and is at the source of the melodic line. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish and grand mother on father side is dutch, but she also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( the father of her mother is from Detroit). She had been raised in Sicilia first for 7 years then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She only moved away from opera to pop because she is first and foremost a songwriter. After her Eurovision participation in 1988 (4th), she really started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She moved to Sicilia end of 2022. She became very famous in Quebec in the early 90s with several double platine records and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and was number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: • I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. • He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") • She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". • And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). • Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration (singers from every region in the world: from China and Taiwan, to Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Central Africa, …) ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Charice Penpengco (Adagio), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Emily Linge (Adagio) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Pauline Aguirre (Adagio)), ○ George Peris (Broken Vow, Humana), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Wanessa Camargo (Love by Grace), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anne Sila (pas sans toi, Tu es mon autre), ○ The Canadian Tenors (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio), ○ Sarah Naura Irbah (Mademoiselle Hyde), ○ Elisabetta Rinaldi (Adagio), ○ Alyona Yarushina (Adagio), ○ Marie Payet (Pas sans toi), ○ Laurh (Immortelle), ○ Inger Lise Hope (Adagio), ○ Håkon Sønsterud Tollefsrød (Broken Vow), ○ Flora Tandi (Bambina), ○ Cindy Chao (Yeliel My Angel), ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Abraham Mateo (Adagio), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Russel Watson (Adagio), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Annointed (Love by Grace), ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she had a very successful tour in Canada and Europe. I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was spectacular as always. On April, May, June 2023 she had again some wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, then in Ouzbekhistan, Kazakhstan, Romania. She just completed another popular tour in eastern europe (Czech Republic, Moldavia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkiye, Hungary) and in Canada in april-june 2024. She also appeared as a guest in some big events such as Hauser’s concert in Royal Albert Hall (May 9th 2024). Then, after some rest and a few TV Shows, she will tour again in Europe and France in 2025. She just released late November a brand new album, "Je suis là" (I’m here), a pure gem, packed with beautiful songs with deep moving lyrics. She just released her new album titled "Je suis là" on November 29, 2024 The first song released of this new album (titled "Ta Peine" - Your Sorrow) was delivered late January 2024 and has been a success in France. The second “Je t’ai cherché”(I looked for you) was released early october 2024, another success! I also recommend "Je suis de toi" and "une fleur à la bouche". Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
Excellent reaction my friend Dan!!...Thank you for accepting our recommendation to meet the Goddess Lara Fabian...Indeed Lara is Dimash's idol and he has done several covers of some of Lara's songs and she even composed a song for Dimash and one day you will have to react to a song where Dimash fulfills his dream of singing with her...I invite you to continue reacting to Lara and her wonderful songs....A big hug my friend!!!
Thanks for that reaction - always nice to see people listening to Lara for the first time. Pls more reactions to her! Check out Adagio, Caruso, Perdere l'amore, You're not from here etc. pp. Basically just choose any live performance of hers and you won't be disappointed 😉
I knew Lara because of Dimash, he said in an interview that he has been influenced by her. Dimash and Lara goes direct to my soul when they sings. Thanks for the reaction ❤🇪🇸
It still amazes me how people have not heard of her before until now. 😁This concert is from 1999!!! Been her fan over 25 years. Lara has been closest to perfection as any human can be as an singing artist. I truly believe it will take forever for someone as brilliant to been born. She is in her artistry same level as Rossini in composing opera, Mozart composing symphonies or Newton in fysics or Leonardo Da Vinci in his art. There are bunch of good singers nowadays and singers who has quite good voice or range. And few singers who can express a feeling or put her or his soul into the performance. But NONE who has it all. Except this lady. And what a human being she is. So beautiful inside out. This is easily one of top 5 vocal performances ever recorded live. 4 others are from that same concert. BTW i was a little afraid there is no space left in comment section after Eric's comments...😁😎TTKing
I'm a simple man, I see Lara Fabian, I cilck =) Thanks for your reaction! Always a pleasure to see someone be introduced into the rabbit hole, of this goddess. Please do more from here, like "Adagio", "Caruso", "Broken vow" are a good start I think. +1 sub 😛.
🇨🇦 I see that you have succumed to the comments by Eric Sicard, our resident expert on all things Lara ! Good decision ! I would recommend reacting to "Adagio" in English (which Dimash did a cover of), "Caruso" in Italian, "Quedate" in Spanish and then "Requiem pour un fou" as a duet with Johnny Hallyday ! This rabbit hole welcomes you ! 🇨🇦
Lara Fabian é uma cantora espetacular é a minha preferida há muitos anos, ela já esteve no Brasil 🇧🇷 e foi recebida com muito carinho. É também a preferida do Dimash ♥️🌹♥️
Hi, Dan. I am a 67yo musician with classical training behind me. In my younger days I could also play multiple instruments (at least seven). However, for the last thirty odd years, I have been focusing on just piano/keyboard (playing in a band until now), and organ in churches. I am so glad that you have reacted to Lara's rendition of "Jesuis Malade". She is definitely one of two of Dimash's idols, his other idol being Michael Jackson. I can definitely feel the GENUINE HONESTY flowing from your being when you mention the names of other artist, so for that precise reason I will not hesitate to follow up on your recommendations. Thank you for a super great reaction. I too, honestly, have thoroughly enjoyed it.
She is the real beast live. Her performances from the same concert as this song are insane! "Adagio" --> ua-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/v-deo.html "You're not from here" --> ua-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/v-deo.html "Perdere l'Amore" in Italian --> ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html "Caruso" --> ua-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/v-deo.html "Quédate" in Spanish --> ua-cam.com/video/cX0CPdBV75E/v-deo.html
This is a GREAT suggestion, 100% - those are amazing versions - Also "Broken Vow" from this concert is stunning too - @Dan - I've subscribed ready for them, ha ha! 👀
When Lara talks about sincerity, honesty and true feelings transcending language barriers, there is one artist that comes in my mind. Take a look at the young Dutch Emma Kok. She reminds a lot of people of Lara Fabian. If you watch the entire official video you'll understand what I mean. Her ability to convey emotions through a song is beyond her years. She's truly mesmerizing: ua-cam.com/video/KdIhq1tb8Co/v-deo.htmlsi=5zlB09l_Y19T0E3Z
👉 Lara Fabian, *1970, is a world famous Belgian-Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, actress and producer. She is Belgian but also has Italian roots (her mother is from Sicily). She grew up in both countries and therefore speaks both French and Italian as her mother tongue. She was classically trained in singing, piano and song composition for 10 years (from 8 to 18) at the Brussels Royal Conservatory. To this day she has singing lessons and trains several times a week. She started her career in Canada in the early 1990s. She now lives in Montreal and also has Canadian citizenship. She is fluent in 4 languages (French, Italian, English, Spanish) and has sung in a total of 12 languages. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide as of September 2017 and is one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time. In 2000, Lara launched her triumphal procession in the US, but a falling out with Sony over her artistic direction and the will of Celine Dion's management to block her path to the US thwarted that plan. She therefore focused on Europe again and had great success there, expanding her reach to Eastern Europe and Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her many years of collaboration with Igor Krutoy. She's also a star in Brazilia. Many of their songs are now classics and are covered by other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban... The US is now rediscovering her through her covers of Lara Fabian songs. She is Dimash's idol. He has covered some of her songs. She also wrote the lyrics to his song 'Your Love' and they finally met at Igor Krutoy's birthday party and sang Ti Amo Cosi (composed by Igor Krutoy) together with Aida Garafulina: 'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' - ua-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/v-deo.html Lara is one of the best singers in the world, for me the most soulful singer! 👉 Suggestion: * Lara Fabian - Je suis malade/ I’m sick - ua-cam.com/video/uGthVEza97U/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian - Broken Vow - ua-cam.com/video/eEujtnQNQKw/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian and Johnny Hallyday singing a epic rock-song - Requiem pour un fou/ Requiem for a Mad Man - ua-cam.com/video/PHwIF6jmOCY/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian - Caruso - ua-cam.com/video/ch7Dz2CIRy4/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian - Je t'aime - Live in Paris, 2001 - ua-cam.com/video/IYnFwUbC9A8/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian and Igor Krutoy - Les feuilles mortes / Dead leaves ua-cam.com/video/hCyej7qrwWY/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian - Llora (MV) - ua-cam.com/video/8Fh35Foo9CA/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian - Adagio - ua-cam.com/video/jKtNuLG5jAo/v-deo.html * Lara Fabian - Mademoiselle Hyde - ua-cam.com/video/DuSDdjU4S8M/v-deo.html
Lara is amazing, I'm glad Roimer brought her to you. If you continue the path I'm very interested to see what a composer has to say about her songs. Granted this song is a cover, but it's quite extraordinary cover, she totally owns the song The author himself (Serge Lama) is a huge fan of her version.
"Showy Offy" is definitely a phrase LOL! I'm reminded of Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion so far. I don't know what she's saying here but I feel like she's talking about a heartbreak that maybe she doesn't understand. I digress. Different languages and cultures and the way emotions are expressed (especially when sad or poignantly presented) is SO interesting to me. Great reaction.

I jumped up when you spoke of the unique way in which so many French singers insert something almost like normal speech into their songs. I've thought that same thing for years now. It makes me think of the old bards who told stories in rhyme, or poetry, and accompanied themselves with musical instruments to heighten the emotional impact of their spoken word performance. We lost that in English. But, I think the French have kept it in some of their songs. For someone raised listening to English language songs, to hear a French singer for the first time is a bit of a shock. It really opens up a whole new world of understanding the beauty and the power of the combination of music and lyrics.
Lara is amazing. I loved that you had a list of musicians at the end to check out and Rahim Redcar/Christine and the Queens was amazing find and I love him so much. Thank you. As a return here is something you could check out at some point in case you have not listened him before. His musical productions are pretty fantastic: Asaf Avidan - In a Box ll - Your Anchor.
Lara's concerts have been and will continue to be a benchmark for the French-speaking world. This is one of my favourites "En toute intimité" Full English translation For our English-speaking friends ua-cam.com/video/NMHym4N4UXo/v-deo.htmlsi=W2NtNDdaIQCznKQy This concert has it all The quality of the image Lara's incredible voice Fabulously performed, intimate music And full English translation as close as possible to the lyrics This concert is Lara's soul A must-see
I won't add anything about Queen Lara because many things have already been written about her in the comments. But, if you want to discover some French singers, you can listen to Pomme and Zaho de Sagazan. They both have a great talent for composing and singing, in a very different way. I love both of them.
Well, the interested smile goes fine with the singing sans lyrical understanding.....but this is an incredibly devastating song, performed with a dark eloquence that demands attention to the lyrical content, REGARDLESS of what she says in the preamble. I appreciate the concentration on the arrangement and her wonderful singing, however, as a 'lyric guy' I think a large portion of this performance has been left by the wayside, diminishing its crushing impact. Just my opinion, and a nice review! Thanks very much. 👍
Another wonderful reaction Dan! Ren, Dimash and now Lara! Whaaaaa! I would recommend Caruso and definitely this ua-cam.com/video/IYnFwUbC9A8/v-deo.htmlsi=WMPy2pE62t6yArJm ❤🔥
Just to make you aware: there are some recordings of Lara and Dimash which have been proven to be pitch corrected/autotuned edit: or mimed - if you pick that up, you may want to reconsider the reaction as it's very contentious territory. (Many of their fans will vociferously deny it, even when it's blindingly obvious.)
Post production pitch corrected yes, in the US. Play back, yes, standard practice in Russia and some South America tv shows. Artists are forced to do it there. But never autotune. And Lara, in her own concerts or productions, don’t use these tricks. She sings with no tweaks. There are a few concerts where she was a bit sick, and explained at the beginning of the concert, she will sing with " the voice of Bonnie Tyler" but all her heart. She is known to be one of the most skilled vocal artists ever and she proved it singing seated impromptu perfectly the most difficult pieces. It’s one thing to analyze if the voice in the perf is authentic or not. Another one to bin and destroy the artists who were forced to do it. The music industry do not always give them a choice. I hate how people react to this fact without moderation and understanding of the full context.
@@toria-j yes but they all suffered from this and some even followed that path willingly (not the case of Lara as I said): Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, … Today Taylor Swift, Coldplay, … Why blaming Lara and Dimash when others did much worse? At least Lara and Dimash are able to sing live any of their songs perfectly. Not the case of most of the current US superstars.
Lara fans like me, don't question what you say. Fil, from Wings of Pegasus who does this work says that the retouching on some of Lara's performances for example, is done minimally and without her knowledge by the production and that she doesn't need it because she masters singing techniques like no one else. Tim Welch, an American vocal coach, recently had two of Lara's live performances analyzed and indeed 98% of it is really Lara's voice and he agrees that it is sacrilege that the technicians do this to her because she absolutely does not need it.
Mon français n'est pas bon... I looked at the translation after and I feel that it works best in French so I have focused on her vocal performance rather than lyrical content. ✌🧡
@@PeaceBeatswithDanBlackwell It's depends ... Lyrics are often not that important, but in this case they are, for to talk about the expressiveness of Lara.Thank you for your reaction!
If you like that song then you should check out this song, live, which Lara wrote... it's outstanding..... ua-cam.com/video/WEC81OVelo8/v-deo.htmlsi=XV52jZPwGgxCJibR

Yeah, this song especially is just not the same without the lyrics. Maybe if you want to get the full impact of performance alone and also the song you could watch the video twice, first without and then right after with the lyrics in the same reaction video?
I love this song, I'm sure no one will mind if you post a follow-up reaction with the lyrics if you haven't already watched the video with them on.
Lara ❤
Great reaction, thank you for this. Always a pleasure to listen to Lara for the first time with someone. I recommend her rendition of Caruso, it is breath taking.
Oh great, thank you! ✌️🧡
Lara was in Royal Albert Hall on May 2024 and will be again in concert on June 3 2025 in Wembley, OVO arena.
Oh wow fantastic! 🧡🧡🧡
I'm going to see her for the first time at this gig - cant wait!!
The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal)
ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html
is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.
Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance the En Toute Intimité, 2003, Paris Olympia version is even more dramatic
ua-cam.com/video/SyILdRAOS88/v-deo.html
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for all this history!!! 🧡🧡🧡
More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Aretha, Shirley Bassey, Lisa Fischer, ....
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music, and is at the source of the melodic line.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish and grand mother on father side is dutch, but she also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( the father of her mother is from Detroit).
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol:
• I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
• He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara.
Out of my mind I can list:
○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version)
○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know")
• She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love".
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration (singers from every region in the world: from China and Taiwan, to Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Central Africa, …)

She just released her new album titled "Je suis là" on November 29, 2024
The first song released of this new album (titled "Ta Peine" - Your Sorrow) was delivered late January 2024 and has been a success in France. The second “Je t’ai cherché”(I looked for you) was released early october 2024, another success!
I also recommend "Je suis de toi" and "une fleur à la bouche".
Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
Wow, thanks for all this! 🧡🧡🧡
La Reine ❤
the queen lara fabian thanks
Lara the best the queen❤❤❤❤
🧡🧡🧡
@PeaceBeatswithDanBlackwell bonjour de Paris👋👋
Lara is The Queen of Resonance and vowel coordination. She is The Ring. The perfect singer.
🙌🧡
Excellent reaction my friend Dan!!...Thank you for accepting our recommendation to meet the Goddess Lara Fabian...Indeed Lara is Dimash's idol and he has done several covers of some of Lara's songs and she even composed a song for Dimash and one day you will have to react to a song where Dimash fulfills his dream of singing with her...I invite you to continue reacting to Lara and her wonderful songs....A big hug my friend!!!
You're the man Roimer, thank you so much for putting me onto her work! That is fantastic, a big hug to you too my friend!!! ✌🧡
❤❤❤
@EllanaTs Hello dear!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Roimer for recommending Lara to so many people 😊
@damianvc31 My pleasure!!!😊😊
Thanks for that reaction - always nice to see people listening to Lara for the first time. Pls more reactions to her! Check out Adagio, Caruso, Perdere l'amore, You're not from here etc. pp. Basically just choose any live performance of hers and you won't be disappointed 😉
Thank's for your react about Lara the Queen ❤❤❤
🧡🧡🧡
Great reaction to this stunning performance by the one and only Queen Lara! She’s amazing! 🤎👸🏼🤎
Queen Lara, one of the greatest performers in the world !
🧡🧡🧡
I'm a simple man, I see Lara Fabian, I cilck =)
Thanks for your reaction! Always a pleasure to see someone be introduced into the rabbit hole, of this goddess.
Please do more from here, like "Adagio", "Caruso", "Broken vow" are a good start I think.
+1 sub 😛.
MUCH MORE EMOTIONAL WITH LYRICS... You miss MANY THINGS without them...
Subtitled version easy to find.
Someone suggested I make a second video to react to the lyrics as well, I think that's a good idea 🧡
@PeaceBeatswithDanBlackwell yes good Idea !
Sublime❤ more than perfect 👌
🧡🧡🧡

🙏✌️🧡
🇨🇦 I see that you have succumed to the comments by Eric Sicard, our resident expert on all things Lara ! Good decision !
I would recommend reacting to "Adagio" in English (which Dimash did a cover of), "Caruso" in Italian, "Quedate" in Spanish and then "Requiem pour un fou" as a duet with Johnny Hallyday ! This rabbit hole welcomes you ! 🇨🇦
Hehe, thanks for the requests! And thank you for your kind welcome 🤗 I'm excited to hear more! ✌️🧡
Sublime Lara ❤❤❤❤
Great vid :)
🧡🧡🧡
Lara Fabian é uma cantora espetacular é a minha preferida há muitos anos, ela já esteve no Brasil 🇧🇷 e foi recebida com muito carinho. É também a preferida do Dimash ♥️🌹♥️
Amazing performance ❤wonderful, magical, unique voice ❤fantastic Lara ❤❤
Lara is amazing! The best female voice for me!
She is the real beast live. Her performances from the same concert as this song are insane!
"Adagio" --> ua-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/v-deo.html
"You're not from here" --> ua-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/v-deo.html

Wow, thank you! ✌️🧡
She's truly mesmerizing:

She also wrote the lyrics to his song 'Your Love' and they finally met at Igor Krutoy's birthday party and sang Ti Amo Cosi (composed by Igor Krutoy) together with Aida Garafulina: 'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' - ua-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/v-deo.html
Lara is one of the best singers in the world, for me the most soulful singer!

Lara is amazing, I'm glad Roimer brought her to you. If you continue the path I'm very interested to see what a composer has to say about her songs.
Granted this song is a cover, but it's quite extraordinary cover, she totally owns the song
The author himself (Serge Lama) is a huge fan of her version.
I'm excited to hear more ✌️🧡
"Showy Offy" is definitely a phrase LOL!

One of my absolute favorites from Lara is
Perdere l'amore
ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html
In Italien
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
Oh brilliant, thank you! 🧡🧡🧡
Oh awesome, thank you so much!! ✌️🧡
Ohh, this one definitely calls for a reaction with lyrics! 😅
Lara's concerts have been and will continue to be a benchmark for the French-speaking world.
This is one of my favourites

I might do a second reaction to the lyrics to be fair 🧡

C est dans le même concert que je suis malade
Maybe try Jacques Brel " ne me quitte pas". Or Rita Mitsuko " Marcia baila" and " c'est comme ça". Have fun 😊

I won't add anything about Queen Lara because many things have already been written about her in the comments. But, if you want to discover some French singers, you can listen to Pomme and Zaho de Sagazan. They both have a great talent for composing and singing, in a very different way. I love both of them.
But she born in belgium mother italia❤🇨🇼
The sentence is very emotional (so deep), use the video with the subtitles.
🤗 Thank you! Awesome, I will look into Caruso! 🙌✌️🧡
That sounds like very contentious territory indeed, thanks for the heads up! ✌️🧡
@@ericsicard910 thank you for proving my point.
@@toria-j yes but they all suffered from this and some even followed that path willingly (not the case of Lara as I said): Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, …
Today Taylor Swift, Coldplay, …
Why blaming Lara and Dimash when others did much worse?
Comprenez vous le français?
Mon français n'est pas bon... I looked at the translation after and I feel that it works best in French so I have focused on her vocal performance rather than lyrical content. ✌🧡
@@PeaceBeatswithDanBlackwell It's depends ... Lyrics are often not that important, but in this case they are, for to talk about the expressiveness of Lara.Thank you for your reaction!
@@PeaceBeatswithDanBlackwell You are right, in some interview Lara told she has never succeeded to sing a good cover of this song in other languages.
Please react Polina Gagarina a cuckoo singer 2019!🙏🙏 ua-cam.com/video/T1Co32bmmRw/v-deo.htmlsi=IssICBrOXY83_zwc
Thank you for your suggestion!!! ✌️🧡
Why constantly bring about that Dimash???
Lara is ART. Dimash more of a circus act.
What a “classy” comment! I prefer Dimash, but would never write anything negative about Lara!
If you like that song then you should check out this song, live, which Lara wrote... it's outstanding..... ua-cam.com/video/WEC81OVelo8/v-deo.htmlsi=XV52jZPwGgxCJibR
