Signal on the left: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
After I caught M501 at Elm Hill Pike, I continued on up to this crossing after discovering that a nearby WCH mechanical bell had been replaced. After about an hour or so at most of waiting, I was able to get my third train of the day: a southbound mixed freight with a YN2 AC44CW leading a YN3 AC44CW for power! Definitely one of my better catches, on this day.
This crossing is another nice one, even if it's a bit of a more modern one. Originally, there were a pair of gateless 8 inch signals here from the L&N, which had had the lone bell here replaced with a Safetran Type 2 e-bell at some point in the mid-2000s. Sometime between 2007 and 2009 (per street view and the FRA's inventory reports for this crossing), CSX replaced the old gateless signals here with the current gated signals, with the far signal getting a gated cantilever rather than another gatedmast signal. Since then, thankfully, no other changes appear to have occurred to this crossing, aside from this crossing having had both of its original gate arms replaced sometime after 2021. I'm definitely glad to see this late-2000s CSX install pretty much entirely unchanged since it was installed, however, as I always do enjoy filming CSX crossings of this age. Hopefully it continues to remain unchanged for many more years to come, but either way, I'm glad to have been able to film it.

Nice crossing! Too bad the next door WCH mechanical bell at porter road isn’t there anymore but it sadly died a while back!

I wish CSX would go back to these setups.. I miss them using Dialight ball LEDs and Safetran type 3s...

Same, though they probably wouldn't be as interesting if they were what CSX was still using as standard, lol.

May I give you a little tip on something?
Whenever you put in _Safetran Type 3 Electronic Bell_ in the Description, try looking at the Base of the Bell to indicate whether it’s a Safetran Type 3/Invensys Rail or a Siemens.
A Safetran Type 3/Invensys Rail E-Bell has a bigger Base & the Base is more flat, as in no design on the Base, whilst a Siemens E-Bell has a smaller Base with a design on it.

No. I'm aware of the difference but:
#1. You can't reliably tell the Invensys Rail and Siemens ones apart (without committing some kind of felony).
      #2. I just don't care.

      @@freebrickproductions ???
I didn’t quite get what you said, when you said _(without committing some kind of felony)_ .
Like, how would you be able to tell which Bell is which without even committing a felony, when you could just be looking at, from wherever you’d be standing, where the Brand Name is positioned on the Bell, what part of a Bell is similar/different to another, etc.?
You just basically look at them without even touching them.
Like, take a look at some Railroad Crossing Tour Videos from like G.C.R Productions, Caleb Belcher, etc. for example.
They know the differences of each Bell, especially if 2 Bells look a whole lot alike with just one or a few similarities between one another.
As for where you also said that you just don’t care, that would basically mean that you would just leave it at _Safetran Type 3 Electronic Bell_ in the Description, even if it’s a Siemens E-Bell, since even if it’s a Siemens E-Bell, it looks a whole lot like a Safetran Type 3/Invensys Rail E-Bell with just a minor difference, right?

A later Invensys Rail e-bell and a Siemens e-bell look identical from the outside, yet are two different brands, correct?
Also, earlier Invensys Rail e-bells look identical to "true" Safetran Type 3s, as, IIRC, the design of the base was changed under Invensys Rail.
And yes. Up until Siemens started using a different Speaker in about 2020 or so, the bells all sounded the exact same as well.
