I own a Maserati. To each their own. I love mine, its fun as hell to drive and I’ve only had people come out of their to say how good it looks. It’s not always at face value on what a cars worth is or should be. Yeah it has some company parts from mopar. Ok? Big fucking deal. Lamborghini has collaborated with Volkswagen and Audi, Aston Martin with ford, it’s what the industry does to stay alive. So i disagree with this video on calling it trash. In 2021, I bought a 2018 Quattroporte as I didn't want to pay sticker price for a new car from another brand. I'd consider it to be a luxury car with a sportier edge compared to other full size luxury cars. Like others have commented, the crossover of some of the Chrysler switch gear does not bother me. For $60k, the car is pretty nice, but does come with higher insurance, oil change, and brake costs. It's likely worth around half of what we paid now, but all luxury cars depreciate. Nobody thinks the typical Maserati is an exotic that holds value like lower production expensive vehicles.
I saw a 2019 Quartrporte under 30K with with under 30K miles…70% off msrp…seems like decent value.

I’m a three time Maserati owner and i will say that the fact that there’s no floor on the depreciation of the car is the biggest liability. Short of that, i think the brand cache is definitely respectable to most people…perhaps not your students. Most people gravitate to Maserati because they are not as ostentatious as other super cars….especially the previous generation GranTurismo which def have Ferrari like aspects to it.

Yup. I see high-end used car dealerships up here in NC. Every single one of them is priced five to $15,000 below what the perceived market value is and they all are sitting on the market for at least 30-90 days.

Hey now, I love my MC cabrio. It was a great car even with electrical gremlins that afflict it every week. Nothing sounds as good as that 4.7L V8 in MC mode. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!

The best recent Maserati was a re-bodied Enzo.
Two years ago I booked a reservation for a car from Enterprise. It was supposed to be a Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series or Porsche Panamera. They didn't have any of those. I was stuck with a Ghibli. It was the worst car I've ever rented. A 2012 Maxima, a 300C were better cars. Actually, the Ghibli has the same infotainment system and parts as the Chrysler. Only redeeming feature was the exhaust note and the fact Enterprise discounted my reservation to under $40 a day because they knew it was crap too.

@@Natethegreat200c 1.) Build quality was utter shit. Most of the switchgear was lifted from bargain basement Dodges. The plastics felt cheap, everything inside the car felt cheap. Again, worse than the 300C which makes for a nice rental car.
2.) The beltline was far too high. Make the interior feel cramped and the B and C pillars really hampered visibility.
3.) While the exhaust note was nice, the car wasn't fast, wasn't sure footed or really had anything else that made it feel special.
4.) I rented what was supposed to be a $100,000+ car. If I was given a Quattroporte at least the car would be in the same price range. The Ghibli was supposed to compete with the 5 Series and E Class. I owned a 5 Series and it was way way better than the Maserati.

I've had a Fiat Bravo, it lost OVER 50% within 2 years, 4 years later it was worth 15% of the retail price and remained that way 10 years later.

Alfa Romeo is dead on the 2nd market, no one DARES to come close to an Italian car that is out of warranty due to expensive parts and repairs, the maintanance is just too high.
So after my Bravo crashed, I wanted an Alfa Romeo, the price was good, the car was awesome, but then I remembered what I went through with the Fiat and was like, hell no, and bought a Hyundai I30 (Elantra GT) instead.
Had some money recently, bought the Octavia RS (new), never even crossed my mind to go for an Alfa Romeo, too scary.
Similar to what happened to Jaguar.... Bean counters swooped in and gutted the legacy brand just hoping consumers won't notice for as long as possible.

90's era Diablos would fit under that label as Lamborghini was owned by Chrysler during that time and the values on those cars are as you know vs Maserati or any other brands..

@ExoticCarHacks I think MC-20's will lose half of their value in the next 5 to 6 years. The only reason they're still as expensive as they are now is shock value. As soon as that shock value wears, they will tank.

you do know that Ferrari is also owned by FIAT which owns/owned by Chrysler and has in the past used chrysler parts in their cars.mainly the infotainment systems for the FF/GTC4 Lusso/California.
but as i do concede your point on the diluting of the brand through mismanagement of the dealers,service,build quality and to some extent also through volume.you also confirm my point as that having being owned by chrysler isn't a death sentence for residual values all the time.will MC20 values go up in 30 years,i don't know honestly.JDM cars that you could buy dirt cheap from back in the day are in certain cases have held their value.are they a smart buy to flex due to looks when they hit $80-110k in a few years time,that's subjective.

LOL why are you comparing Maserati to exotics. They are priced like Mercedes/BMW, which aren't exotics either. Levante starts at 87k, Ghibl at 78k. No Maserati owners think they are "exotics" either. They ALSO know the car will depreciate to zero, like every other non-exotic.
