I had a big orange barn owl crash into a metal shed on my property in the middle of the night. I heard it and thought it was a baseball. The next day, I went behind the shed and found an owl. It puffed up in defense so I left it alone. Eventually the owl collected enough of its wits to fly away on own. 🦉
...Later that evening Ess: Was there a bird out there? Eric: "Was" is the right word for it, yeah. Ess: Little baby one Eric: More than a mouthful... ...After a look around Ess: I can't see any sign of it. Eric: I left nothing. He will bother you no more, mother. I am but a humble translator. Eric is the real star!
Ericus is hilarious while eating & adorable always 😻 * The bird is just chilling there? I hope it’s fine. It’s good that you protected it from Ericus’ wrath XD Both are so innocent and lovely 😽😽 *
My other cat - Phebe - likes to launch herself at seagulls who come to mop up what the stray cat that comes (Gizmo, 12ish) doesn't eat! Very entertaining! And she's a wee dinky one...smaller than the seagulls but she has a go anyways! 😄
What do you mean only one packet left mum? I always have about 2 boxes spare at any one time, I'm sure my Atticus counts the boxes and his meows make me aware when I need to re-order in advance. Aww that poor baby bird, hope it got reunited with his mother. A few months ago I found a baby pigeon outside which wouldn't move (there were 4 cats in the household so first we had to secure them inside). I called the local wildlife rescue in another town and we got there just in time before closing. They couldn't see anything wrong with it and thought it would be a positive outcome and it just needed some R & R, so the next day I contacted them for an update - it had passed away, they think it must have had internal bleeding as it seemed to have fallen from a nest, I was heart broken. On another occasion we took a shrew/mouse thingy which wouldn't move (from fear I guess), it recovered so well it was let out the next day into the woodland. Always worth knowing where your nearest wildlife rescue is and having the number handy! Well done Eric and mum, the bird didn't become Eric's snack!!
LMAO at the edit where Eric is told there's a bird outside and Eric licks his chops 😆😆😆😆 As Eric's lawyer that evidence is not admissible in court! Objection! prejudicial evidence and a deep fake!
Apologies to @muhdiversity7409 who beat me to further comments I came back to make. Yes Essellle, Eric's slo-mo licking of his lips at your mention of there being a birdie outside made me laugh out loud. And Mr. Esselle is pretty darn good with the one-liners/retorts. When you asked- Which window did the bird hit? Was his reply? - I don't know, go look for a bird smudge on a window. Classic!!!
I have some giant bay windows in my living room. They reach up about 20 feet at the highest. Every year I have bird strikes into the windows. One was so bad I looked out the window and I was positive it had gone to bird heaven. A couple hours later it was gone. Two options 1) it was stunned, woke up and staggered off or 2) some of the fauna around here got it but I didn't see any evidence of feathers scattered everywhere. A pesky rabbit met its end near the house. About an hour later as I was going to move it to Rabbit heaven I walked to the door to be confronted with half a dozen vultures that had polished the whole thing off. Absolutely no evidence it was there was left behind.
Same happened here with a sparrow last year. It looked very still, I didn't want to disturb it and frighten it if it was still alive. Apparently, they will play dead to deter predators. Anyway, next morning it was gone.
@@bedazzled621 Very cool. I live in the countryside so there's no shortage of bird. My cats are indoors only as outdoor cats in the states don't fair well .... there are coyotes, foxes, bears, eagle, hawks, you name it milling around. When I go out to cut the grass the sparrows fly around me and the mover in circles picking off the insects the mower disturbs from the grass. It's pretty cool.
A cat food shortage vs a stranded fledgling - not a good combination! Well, not for the bird anyway.
❤ 2:20
Bless you for being considerate of the birdy and not allowing Eric out temporarily💖
"Listen here, just put it down in the dish so I can eat ... please." 0:11 😂😍😻❤
Eric's thoughts as you speak.
An absolutely magnificent feline you have there. I love the communication between owner and cat.
Eric: "No food? Do you give milk?"😂
Hes such a cute boy and a perfect example of why i love cats so much.
Eric is such a sweet boi!
This guy just bursts with personality, and I love him. You're a true star, Eric!
"There's a bird outside."
BRING IT TO ME.....
Quite a drama, poor little bird waddling off down the garden. Eric behaved very well though, he is a kind, compassionate boy ❤
Eric: “Crisis, crisis! No cat food! I’ll just have to ‘go wild’ and catch my own birdy!
Let me out, my lunch is waiting for me in the garden, mum!”
This is why Eric refuses to catch spiders! Since he cant get the birdies! lol, poor birdy
"Fly away she says, i've probably got a concussion! Honestly what kind of neighbourhood is this.." Anonymous Bird. 😸😹
Oh Eric! 😅 xxx
Thank you for sharing Eric with us. "Yes, my luv Eric, we know it is your instinct to catch the bird, but the bird is still a baby. " ❤
It sounds like a cat food emergency. Eric wants some treats from the shops as well. Eric says he will skip the tea.❤😂

His cat back talk about "no birdies" is hilarious!
❤🥰❤🥰❤🥰❤🥰❤🥰❤
'Last packet of cat food'... this sounds like a time to start panicking.
Not happy that everyone is telling me that I have to stay inside. I really want a piece of that bird. 😊
Which piece - breast or leg? 😹
I hope the bird didn't have a wing injury and it got back to bird business.

😂
You are such a spoil sport. Eric would have enjoyed playing with a new friend.
Cute bird
Such a chatterbox ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Of course he's listening!
No more asking after this? 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤"Thee lady, knowest not that I am a cat and thy money and food belongeth to me, meow"
Hahaha he's upset about not wanting to, uh, "play" with birdie friend
"I once was stunned, but now I'm hungry!!!!"

Well done team. We've had successes and "incidents" with baby fledglings. It always helps if you find them first.

What a dilemma!! Bird and cat.RSPCA have got nothing on you.❤
Maybe due to low Sheba inventory he ordered it from Cat Dash and that was his delivery
😂😂
such a cute cat baby he is

Saving Private Birb.
😂😂
How does Eric get into the basket? Does he jump in on his own, or do you lay the basket on the floor and he walks in before you tip it up?
He jumps in and out absolutely fine on his own, he’s still very agile
@@esselleanderic Amazing lad, he is!
With the wind the baby bird could of blew off a tall tree branch into your yard. But doesn’t fly well it’s still a baby! 🙏🏻
Did you call a local wildlife rescue place or the RSPB about the bird?

Yes, he’s always ready with a dry comment or two
lol. No worries.
Is he a Siberian?... Such a gorgeous cat!...
Looks so similar with my lost beloved kitty... He was 20 yrs....🥀🌈✨
He may have it in his ancestry somewhere, but as far as we know he’s just a domestic tabby mix ❤️
Eric is soo soo sweet!
😻
Omg this cute little birdy😞whats wrong with IT?
❤ I wanna help bird 🐔 momma
Probably picked-off by some other predator while you were protecting it from Eric. Nice effort on your part anyway!
I tried, the rest is nature.
