BÖC is one of my favourite bands and certainly the most influencial on my work as a composer / musician. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' : ua-cam.com/video/Pu_p1wbaCa8/v-deo.html
Buck's guitar solo on the studio version of this song is one of his finest - and one of the best by any guitarists of our time. Here, it was just so-so.
@EGlideKid Totally agree! That's one of my favorites, too. And there are so many from which to pick! It's just amazing to me...what travels from Buck's brain as his musical thought, to the end of his fingers on his guitar...so incredible, so uniquely his! Check out his solo on Sinful Love...another one of my faves!
@@lucyforrester2633 So nice to meet another who thinks that way. Buck has been one of my favorite guitarists since the mid-seventies! My first exposure to BOC was buying Secret Treaties in a $1.00 sale bin. I bought it cause the album cover looked incredible, but I didn't listen to it for months. When I finally put it on the record player, it became a staple for me. It's still one of my favorite albums. Call me picky, but I like their early albums the best. BOC was quirky, fascinating, dark, mysterious, and complex, all in one. And Buck Dharma was a big part of that for me. His guitar work is legendary, and his vocals are terrific, too. I Love the Night, and Last Days of May are standouts there.

Man, the original ending guitar solo is so much better than what was played here. I understand that the band plays this song dozens a time per year and that they need to switch things up to keep it fun, but damn... that original solo is one of the best in rock n roll.
Misshapen Ape _ Yep. Secret Treaties in general was a masterpiece. BOCs live shows never came anywhere near that level of nuance or musicianship IMO. they revert to MORE COWBELL LOL

Saw them do this song in Long Beach back in '79. They had huge stadium lights above the stage that were blinding. These came on when he said "Dominance", then would cut to single spot on him while he said "submission" Very powerful effect. He worked it by screaming "Dominance" and quietly, suggestively, muttering "Submission." .
Everyone comments on this solo vs studio etc, but I urge you to look beyond 'guitar gymnastics' and focus on the musicality and artistry of Buck's playing. Same argument with Page. Maybe that comes with age. I actually like it!
17 years ago, this show, and Bloom's voice was shit already back then :S the coolest vocalist way back turned to dead wood. he could have taken care of his voice a bit better....

i saw them in vegas in 2007, and he sounded pretty good that night. i would say that this was either a slightly subpar night for him, or his voice was showing some strain from the tour at that point.
It Doesn’t Get
Any Better Than
This 😎
Easily one of the catchiest riffs in all of rock.

i found his lead in this live rendition to be highly disappointing.
One of the best bands I have ever seen live.
I saw them Live countless times since the 70's Super Live band! studio work excellent also.

Rush opened up for them in the 70s. Saw them a year ago, they still have it !
Saw them in Commack, LI in the 70's. Excellent
Since I was born in October 1964 I see this song as the story of my conception.
Great way to come into the World 😎
There is like this cool pre-punky attitude to this song. If someone told me this was an MC5 song, I'd believe it.
Kick out the jams!

GOAT!
He’s my favorite guitarist to listen to from the 70s.
The only way I can put it is he speaks my language
B O C ...So many great songs custom made for a concert.....this is one great example

IMAGINOS - I wouldn't brag too much about being anywhere near that debacle LOL.
Dude the guy played on a B.O.C album, that's just flat out awesomeness
Tioga Fretworks even though it wasn’t realized as Albert intended it was still solid effort, albeit dated in its sound.
Cool!

Not playing out as Jukebox Warriors™ is one of the things that sets BÖC apart from less-gifted bands!
"I spent 10 years, half my life" was relevant 50 years ago, more so now
I hear this and it reminds me of the Black & Blue shows I attended.
BOC love em still listening in 2020
Used to listen to this before performing some battlegroup ops in 1985. Great riff.
AMazing performance i'd like to hear it live once in a lifetime
BOC had some of the most Intense Lyrics Ever for a Rock Band !

Nice version, but that solo pales in comparison the behemoth Donald unleashed on the studio version. The studio solo is absolutely monumental.
Great Bass Player
I own this concert! Amazing show!
Brilliant
Good song in this world actuel
EL MEJOR TEMA DE BLUE OYSTER PARA COMENZAR SU SHOW!!
This was one of Eric's better vocals that night.
Definitely NO shortage of cowbell here!
Yea I can dig it my friend saw these guys in Australia A sides set so no goodies like this

I used to be hard on him because of it, but honestly that’s what aging will do to you. I can’t really fault him for that
