There's something incredibly ironic about a bunch of notebooks proclaiming "the future is bright" tossed for no reason into a non recycling bin... How the American companies are able to get away with it is frankly baffling.
Corporate tax write-offs so no incentive to donate any items to charities or community churches for people in need.

Shannon let me tell you ,The DG throws out so much school supplies its crazy at my DG half the dumpster was full of school supplies it was crazy I literally filled the bed if my pick-up truck with supplies and I donated to 4 schools in my area. And all over town they were doing a school supplies donation Drive and you would think DG would have given the stuff to at least 1 of the places but nope . its crazy how wasteful they are , but thats where I come in and save it all and bring it to the places that need it. Keep up the good work you and Miss Beth with saving GOOD items for people in need.And please be safe. Love you both & *KEEP ON DIVING*💜😜🤗😘🦋
School supplies is one of those things that breaks my heart. No days everything is so cute too. I had a teacher tell me she'd gladly take what i have off my hands. Works for me she lives down the block and the school district splits the school from k-5 which is about half mile away and the jr high which is across from my place so she can reach out to the faculty and see if they need anything. I also have a preschool on my block and often donate stickers, scrapbook papers crayons, markers, they are always grateful.
No matter how many years I've been diving I'm still shocked how much gets tossed.
I get it when ever I find bulk items I have a social worker lady friend of mine , just like Shannon's Miss Tara that comes and takes everything I find and donates to the women's and children center as well as the low-income families a place called the buggie bunch they help people with " babies and toddlers" and Also they deliver food & sanitary items to them as well. So yes anything I save is a blessing for someone 💜🦋
Because of this waste, it is one company I will never buy stock in.
Those stores will not donate nor return merchandise bcuz then they can’t file an insurance claim for loss.
That’s crazy, teachers are paying for supplies out their own pockets, when they can barely make ends meet as it is. Many have second jobs as Uber or Lyft drivers. Thank you for saving the supplies.
Shannon and Beth are the most entertaining divers out there. Some are so boring but these ladies never disappoint.

You guys are amazing!!!!! A lot of people would just turn around and sell it all for profit, but you donate a good majority of it to great causes. The people in your community are so blessed to have you. Bless you for having a heart of gold!!!!!!!
I find it shameful that these large corporations throw all that stuff out when they could do so much good in the community.
That's funny that u say that..cause they are profiting off of every dumpster diving video...but anyone can do it ..😊
@@TigerfanaticYes, although they do profit in some way, they do need to cover their costs and time. But when the main reason they do it is to provide to less fortunate people that is commendable. Who cares if they make some money off the videos, I certainly enjoy them. And I am sure the people and charities that benefit from there huge donations are grateful and would not begrudge them making some money. Those videos are very time consuming to edit and prepare to post, not to mention they spend hours out there finding the stuff.
@@Mel5544 Totally agree. AND they keep it out of the landfill. So much stuff goes and gets buried when it can be used by someone. This needs to be a THING. If they profit off Ytube or whatever, good for them. They are like modern day Robin Hoods.
@@Tigerfanatic yes I do profit from making my videos … finally but the first whole year & a half I made ZERO DOLLARS… I put money into this , a lot actually for gas, car repairs, brakes tires etc. so to finally be making money back is wonderful. Also it’s my second job. I also bartend on weekends, still. So not like I’m making millions lol. I wish…. But def not. Plus like the comments above editing the videos setting up everything loading it all back up to take to donate takes up a lot more time then one would think. So profiting some money back for my hard work is great. But the fact that I’m helping so many women and children in need is why I do it. I’d still do even if I wasn’t making money😉

The stores dump the school supplies to make room for the Christmas decorations and Christmas food ..cookies, candy, canes etc. Then come 2nd semester of school we can't find school supplies, and the ones we find are top dollar. I have a 2 drawer file cabinet filled with notebook paper, pocket folders, spiral notebooks, pencils, crayolas, sharpeners, etc There's always 2nd semester and next year. I know you're going to donate, but I hope you keep some for your home and the girls school needs. Between our child, grandkids, and now great grand we have been buying school supplies for decades. I also love the notebooks for recipes, notes, letters etc so I want them to. I love school supplies. Great dives!

That’s nuts. I wish stores would donate those notebooks to a school instead of throwing them away! We teachers and our students need them! So crazy and wasteful.
Exactly, most kids need more supplies for school, especially paper and folders for the second half of the year, after winter break !!

Best timing ever. Lost power for 8 hrs and it just recently came back on. Something to lift my spirits. I had a few hours tonight with candles glowing.
What a great haul for a good cause! Never in my lifetime will I understand why companies throw out so much good and useful stuff. There are charities, schools, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, etc. that could definitely use this stuff. Shame on those companies for not thinking outside the dumpster box! How much good they could do and what positive marketing they could get from helping those in need in their communities - if they only tried.
The adult coloring book is a great item to donate to a nursing home. I'm a home healthcare aide and my client enjoys passing time doing word search and coloring books.
Those foil trays are perfect for art and craft, esp. pour painting. Schools might like them.
Now 3 months later there's many golden girls fans that would love the cross-stitch. RIP Betty White

Shannon and Beth you are God's little angels. It breaks my heart how much stuff the stores throws away. To bad they couldn't donate the items or get some kind of tax deduction from it. I can't imagine how much stuff is tossed away to the dump. Rather there is no one dumpster diving or it's illegal. Miss Tara will need a semi truck to pick up the next load. stores get a bigger deduction for writing off bad/damaged/spoiled stock than they do off donations, and corporate doesn't give a sh**. Food after the expiration date cannot be donated due to health codes. Yes, it's very sad so much stuff gets thrown away and not donated! These ladies are doing good things for the community

Wow you found some great stuff. It still amazes me what you find. I swear each time you go I shake my head with what you find. There needs to be a change. A law forbidding these dang stores for throwing out stuff they can easily donate. My Mom used to work for Cracker Barrel. She once told me you wouldn't believe the food it throws away. Well I do believe after seeing the ridiculous stuff stores throw away. Paper and bottled water. Diapers, Tooth paste, Cleaning supplies that could easily be donated. And if there was a law they'd probably still do it. .
The nuns where Beth's Mom works might like some coloring books for Christmas for the Nuns. Crochet books there too.

Watching yall on my lunch break parked at the dollar general and I go and throw my trash away and there is a TRASH bag FULL OF CAKE CUPS 24 AN 12 COUNTS. I was like o my God o my God . I had half my body hanging in the dumpster lol 5'1 . I was in a hurry to grab it it right in the day light. ( 17 boxes ) total alot not even out of date yet. There was some maxwell coffee cans but I couldn't reach 🥲. I'm so excited first time ever getting anything. I gave my co-worker 5 boxes she was excited also.

The Adult coloring books are usually $12-$13 in my area in Michigan

The girls look so cute in their costumes. There were so many note books 📚 and school 🏫 supplies. Enough for years to come.
I found a lot of "bits and pieces" from the Halloween store'; not complete pieces, but things that could be used. I also found a ton of dog scarves and a bag of puppy food at the pet store. My biggest haul was at Whole Foods. It's SUCH a shame what they throw out! Fortunately, they separate trash, cardboard, and fruits/veggies. I got a lot of packaged stuff, and a load of bananas! Keep on divin', ladies! Love your channel!!

10:30 holy hell. Mythographics animals, ivy inky butterfly,...that is SO not right. There are HUGE markets out there for colouring! There's even dedicated FB pages for them. Great find ladies. 👏 in

I wish I could have a Pusheen color book! I LOVE THOSE KITTYS! And I've never even seen a color book with them. I do crafts and having those would be just amazing for me. I'm sure they're gone by now 😭. I soóoooo want to dumpster dive. Unfortunately most of the places here lock theirs up! Bummer! And those how to draw books! Y'all are killing me! This dumpster peep is sick in bed, going to have some intense testing in a couple of weeks…I’ve literally had a stomachache 🤢🤮for a month straight with no relief 😮💨 So watching you Beautiful ladies takes my mind off of things for awhile!!

Ooh Shannon I’m so glad you saved all these school supplies. Teachers cannot continue to pay out of their own pockets for supplies for their students. It hugely unfair to them as many can’t even make ends meet on their salaries. Just beautiful. I wonder if some of those planners you leave behind could go to schools as extra paper that could be used for school kids. Just a thought.

I have alot of Adult Coloring books and yes they are very expensive. Make sure the girls use colored pencils ✏ because markers bleed through. They can use gel pens just have them put a piece of computer paper between the page when using the pens, they can use glitter pens also. They will love Coloring some of those book.🥰omg what a haul. WOW
I’m so glad you have managed to find this new stuff. I’m just amazed that stores can throw so much good stuff away to end up in landfill when there are so many poor, hungry people (families with kids) that could benefit from this stuff.

Adventure by the Mile I am 67 and I Dumpster Dive. I have a 3 prong rake and a grabber to reach into the Dumpster. U should try it if legal in ur area. U can get food and Nature Valley Granola Bars & hand wipes. All kinds of things u could use and some things to sell to help u with gas $'s. So 😞 times r hard for u right now. Good luck to u.

This is shocking! All those great notebooks and stationery! Here in the UK we have food banks that take and hand out all kinds of donations, not just food. We also have 'Food Works' who take unused food from stores, train companies, etc and anyone can come and fill up a bag with food, the idea is to stop food being thrown away and wasted.

I think it's just wonderful that you rescue these goods and get them to needy people. Otherwise WHAT a WASTE. I never knew people do this. I'm so glad you are helping so many people, particularly school kids. When I used to work at a high school here, at the end of the school year, kids would just throw all their supplies away. The teachers would go through the trash cans and collect enough paper pads, notebooks and everything we could use next year.
You guys should get headband flashlights so you have your hands free. Having to hold a light makes you work twice as hard and slows you down. Good video!
