Absolutely! I loved every moment I spent there my only wish was that I could have pinned Heather down halfway through this to say I don't really think it's going to be worth the effort to do a yard sale, but I can help you distribute these clothes to different charities and thrift stores. I hope it didn't come off that I was thinking this was all a waste of time, only that doing a yard sale was definitely not worth it with the limited variety. I think that, once she has decided on the furniture and other things that can go, doing an estate sale will be much more successful. That was what I was hoping for, but we couldn't exactly call it an estate sale when it was mainly clothing and not everything in the house for sale. But, maybe she can do that now. 😊

I don’t know what it is about Yard Sales and Garage Sales that makes everyone shopping them feel like they should be able to buy an entire wardrobe for $3.00! When my mother in law passed, we tried to sell all her clothes. She was very active in her church and really enjoyed shopping for NICE clothes. Sunday best stuff, from Macy’s, Broadway, Robinson’s-May, or Nordstrom’s, where she paid $80.00 or more for a single dress years ago! She was a little elderly lady who went to church. And so many of her things had been worn just a few times if at all. So very good quality gently used nice clothes. It was so hard on my husband, just to have to haggle over his mom’s things, but the offers were disrespectful to say the least. People offered .50 cents and 25 cents! It just wasn’t worth the effort of hanging signs and advertising it, going to the city and getting a permit, hanging everything outside and pricing it all. (Why we even bothered?? They didn’t even look for a price!) and we weren’t asking for more than $5, $3, 1. So we weren’t kidding ourselves that we were going to make a fortune, but it would’ve honestly been cheaper to throw it all in the trash can. All that to reassure you all you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just what it is these days. Even Mira didn’t make a penny off of sending all those clothes to Thred Up. It wasn’t worth the effort. I even tried selling stuff on Poshmark, but that’s a ton of work too for the return. You have to photograph it all, post it all, respond to inquiries. Then if you even sell anything, you have to pack it up and go and stand in line to ship it out. And pay for all that too. They won’t let you charge for shipping! (Poshmark-it’s the only one like that I’ve used personally!) I think the only way it is worth your while is if you have high end name brand items. Like Louis Vuitton bags or Jimmy Choo shoes. Items like that!
It is a little insulting to go through all that effort just to get offers that low. It does seem like yard sales are starting to become less and less popular, especially for things like clothes. And you reminded me of something that I was going to bring up in this video and then never did. I was just going to talk about how much your time is worth. Even if I was doing this for free and Heather was only there for three or four days, the amount of money she could have made with one of her other businesses (she has a lot of little side things that she does...no shock for an ADHDer😁) would have been so much more than we made at the yard sale. It's just simply not worth the time. Time is money!
@@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp When my wife died, I kept only a few gowns that she often wore, as mementos. I threw the rest in the trash. The trash can is always an option. Hugs!
This series needs to end up in a giant video so that I can loop it for hours while doing the deep cleaning for the holidays and having guests!😂 Love all the energy❤❤
I think that unless you live in a wealthy neighbor men’s and women’s clothing doesn’t sell well. Kids clothing does the best. I usually don’t bother and just donate. I gave away a large black bag of my clothes for free on Facebook in our area.
@@Mrsmomof2kids1 Wealthy people don't buy second hand clothes as well. They buy the newest in-fashion, no outdated stuff. All over the world there is too much clothing stuff. Have you ever heard of these mountains of clothes in the Atacama desert where fast fashion companies dump their unsold stuff? Or have you seen videos about fast fashion dumpsters in Nigeria? It's a shame. The companies make their profit by selling tons and tons of clothes to people who don't really *need* them but buy them to fill the emptiness in their souls. The material is mostly poor quality synthetic that cannot be recycled or repaired, not to mention rework. I was poor, had a good job and now I'm poor again. I'm used to buy only few clothes made of natural fibres, repair them until "beyond repair", rework them, reuse them as cleaning clothes or crafting materials (like knotting a carpet with small strips from shirts, making a bag from an old blue jeans, crocheting a cat's pillow with tshirt yarn...). But: The quality of clothing has declined dramatically in recent years. I still use sweaters from 40 years ago. They are still in good shape. Newest stuff barely survives one laundry. Garage sales don't work any more. Better make some phone calls to find a place where you can donate clothing.
Hi, Bonnie and Heather! I know that you won't make a huge dent but have you also considered doing care bags for Jr and High school nurses (accidents happen when we least expect it!)? Also, nursing homes and group homes are always looking for donations as well. (Group homes: adult living, rehab, transitional living, half-way houses, homeless shelters) Thank you for these amazing videos! Laughing and smiling is so important for our mental health. 🙂
Commenting to keep your mom off the street! lol! That was a huge job! And I bet you’re glad it’s not your job anymore! Good work! It certainly gives good perspectives for people to keep in mind about leaving a lot to your family, or dealing with a lot that’s left to you.
Ye certainly had great laughs on the sale day. I honestly can’t believe the difference in the before and after pictures. The whole series was unbelievable. Bonnie you have to keep your mam, she’s great fun. The luggage set is lovely. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐
It's all good. Many, many fun times and an experience we will never forget! I think Heather will be a miracle giver to many who will benefit from the donation of her mom's clothes. 🙂
Loved all of these amazing videos! What a transformation - and what a big job it was. This is amazing to see how bad we all are about accumulating 'things' over time. My husband and I have begun the process of downsizing and it is shocking what we have that is not used or that we don't need at all. The employees at our donation center probably think we are running some kind of home invasion snatch and grab operation! lol We have almost daily deliveries to their site. Bless you and your mom for all you do to help others!
Please Bonny do not fire your mom from your cannel .she is so colourfull and lovly.Heather is also a great person and she did so so good clearing up the rooms as if you go to a 100 star Hotel. Love you all .God bless you .
Yep. I could have saved a lot of time in my ADHD evaluation and just gave this video to the evaluator and told her to watch that 8- or 9-minute segment. No doubt! 😄
Yep. Why I end up laying on the floor in the living room with my cat while the thing I should have taken back to the bedroom is still where it was because I found the cat’s favorite toy under the couch and we tired each other out playing and we’re taking a rest and oh, yeah, hey, that long book of matches by the fireplace really needs to go back in the drawer and the drawer needs a clear out because the holidays are coming and I need to decorate and where did I put that box of cookie cutters? The bedroom closet shelf because it was the only space I had last year so, ok, bye kitty. Get up and go to the bedroom, not grabbing what I was intending to grab from the living room before and take the cookie cutters into the kitchen since they actually belong there but where can I put them? I’ll just clean this drawer out and make room in back. I don’t need all these ladles, I’ll text the kids to see if they need any ladles. Oh, cute, they sent back a cat picture after ten minutes of texting back and forth so I go hunt down my cat to send them pics back. Oh yeah, there’s the thing I wanted to take in the bedroom two hours ago….its exhausting sometimes.
@@cat-mum-Jules I get so mad at myself! Constantly telling myself to FOCUS. But then I’m off on another side quest. I once watched a video that said you would accomplish so much more if you’d just FINISH. Like, finish making the bed before you stop doing it, finishing loading the dirty dishes and turn the machine on, finish vacuuming the room that you started before you go to another room to put away the pair of shoes. Then you’d have a made bed, the dishes going, the livingroom vacuumed. Instead of little bites here and there. And I know all of this. Makes perfect sense. But before I realize it, I’m off in another room doing lord knows what and the 3-4 I started still aren’t done. Frustrating!!!
This really hammers home that my collections would be someone else's burden if I keep collecting too many things. And that everything gets less special when its hidden amongst the crowd. Curating my things carefully increases their value and the joy in them.
Same here. Not only do I have collections of my own, but now I have collections from my mom. I am slowly getting over my attachment to things and am paring down a lot. It takes time.
Loved this series Bonnie, all of you did a great job. Would love to have your Mom in more of your videos, you two are a hoot! Best of luck to Heather in clearing the rest of her Mom’s possessions. My Dad did us a huge favour in downsizing to a much smaller house about 5 years before he passed away… it made the job of clearing out his house so much easier and in fact between us 4 siblings we were happy to divide what he’d left between us as it wasn’t too much and was all really nice usable stuff. I plan to do the same for my two boys. ❤❤
I remember this live..might have been one of the first times you and I interacted. I remember Mack telling your mom to put down the bong when she was being silly 😂 you ladies have so much fun together...my cheeks would hurt from smiling if I got the honor of hanging out with you❤ I love the energy all 3 of you ladies bring!
Yeah, it was utter chaos! I didn't even put any of the stuff in there that Mack was involved in because I didn't even want to try to explain that in this one. 😄
Great series! Really puts things into perspective...My husband and I have no children (38 years married), so it gives incentive to downsize so that we don't burden our siblings with things that won't mean anything to them. Love your mom ❤...keep her around !😊
I love watching the relationship you have with your mom… You are so lucky to have her! I never have that with my own mom so, trust me, that is a real gift to you!
Heather is lovely. She shines with good vibes 😀. We love your mum too. I'd like to request that she adopts me. I'm 54, fully house trained and I wouldn't be any bother I live in England so I'd be easy to ignore 😁. I hope Heather doesn't find it too hard to find a home for all the items. She's done wonderfully in the after pics. The rooms look amazing 😊
Love your Mom! I think you should give it one more try and advertise it as an "Estate Sale" - I think you would have sold the bigger items (furniture) and more of the housewares. If that was the intent, that is. At least you got her organized and cleaned up. Take care! 🙂
I was thinking this, more ppl come to estate sales than tag, because they know more will be there, at least where I am estate sales thrive a lot more than garage and tag sales.
I hope that she does do an estate sale now. We couldn't advertise it that way because she hadn't made decisions on the furniture or other bigger items you expect to find at an estate sale, but I think she is a step closer to doing that now that she is around to make those decisions and has cleaned up everything.
Phenomenal job overall! And Heather oh Heather is a darling, such a fun person somebody I would love to have as a friend. Bonnie, you and your mom did a fantastic job. God bless you both for what you do for others paid or otherwise.❤️🙏😎
I admire all the effort you put into this, and thanks for letting me relearn the lesson that yard sales aren't worth it. Especially where I live! But you got to spend some quality time laughing with your mom! 😁 And Heather is a Doll. 🥰 Her house looks great!
These videos motivate me to keep downsizing the items in my house. It feels so good to tackle this now it won't become any easier as I get older lol Lots of hard work done but what a difference to the house emotional items would be even harder to face & deal with job well done ladies!
The yard sale was set up so great!!! I think just having the yard sale probably helped her heal - just going through the process. She’s right you’re an angel for being there because this was a HUGE undertaking! ❤
I absolutely adore Heather. Knowing what she has been through is absolutely inspiring. Thank you for helping her and documenting this, Bonnie. I love watching everything you post. 🥰
Yes Mom is fun like me. Plus when you called her Mother the tone was just like my oldest daughter when I’m being out of control. 😂😂😂😂 I’m trying to think of someone to share this video with. Hmmmm❤
You should have advised this as a estate sale. If she was planning on giving most away why not charge .25 a item. Or put out bags so folks could fill a bag with clothes for one or two bucks. This is how you get tons of people interested and get rid of things.
That's what I do when I want to get rid of clothes as soon as possible (like before moving). I'm selling it online on sites that are made for that (because we don't have yard sales), and most of it can be bought as a bundle. The only thing that has value are some brands like Zara and similar, and sports brands. Everything else, especially store brand clothing, is possible to sell only in huge bundles. Of course designer clothes have some value too, but I don't have it so I don't know if people would pay much for it 😅
We initially advertised it as an estate sale when we did the pre-sale because I thought the same thing, but one of the people who came to the pre-sale and had experience with doing a couple estate sales for family members said that it wasn't technically an estate sale since it was mostly clothing and little else. I was hoping we could sell some of the furniture so that we could advertise it that way, but since she hadn't made decisions on all that stuff yet, we decided to just call it a huge sale. I hope she does do an estate sale now that things are in a little better order and she has probably made some decisions on the furniture and decor and such. 🤞
Wow, what a difference! But you, Bonnie & your Mom sorting through all of those clothes & things. That made it possible for her to get to the main phase of the transform! Yes, please keep your Mom! She's a treasure for sure! I love all the silliest & jokes. I've done many yard sales & clothing just doesn't sale much. Furniture usually goes fast! Did your cruise help you? Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thanks for sharing! Take care!❤️☺️🫂🐾🦃🥧🎄🤶🏻🎅🏻🌬☃️❄️✨️
Yes, I love that, even though the sale was a huge success, it did help to get her to a point where she could start transforming the rooms. The cruise was amazing and just what I needed! Thank you. I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving as well!
Wow. No wonder you had a meltdown. This was a very, very difficult job to do. Seriously. You really needed to recuperate. You are just too nice. Can’t wait for another video of perhaps an easier on you jobs.
OMG. Watched the whole series. Now I‘m motivated to let stuff go. I was overwhelmed by watching a video about sorting through clothes. Great job and beautiful after pictures!
I absolutely love the before and after pictures! Amazing and wow Heather is such a talented person! You ladies looked like you had fun during all that hard work. Nice job all three of you. PS mom gets promoted 🎉🎉🎉
WOW❣️ Noooooo. Don’t fire your Mom. She’s so full of personality. Besides, that cap looked cute on her. 😀 You ladies did an amazing job for Heather throughout this daunting task. 👍 I can relate to Heather’s sentiments and glad she’s doing things for herself that she truly deserves and enjoys. Great work and thanks for the enlightening and entertaining, heartwarming, etc., etc., video. 💖💖💖👏
Thank you for your comment about relating to Heather. I think I may have painted the picture that she should have been there with me instead of on vacation, but in reality, I am really happy for her that she was finally able to get away and that she trusted me enough to continue working on things there while she was away. Oh, and I think my mom is safe! This video is doing pretty well. 😉😁❤️
Oh, you’re most welcome. Gotta say that you handled the unexpected delays so nicely. Yay! You and your Mom truly deserve a break but will be a pleasure to watch in future videos along the way. Have a great day. 👍😍
When taking on a task like this you have to work with your goal in mind. Goals change too. Was your goal to make money? Was your goal to clean out the house so you can walk around? Was your goal to get rid of stuff? If the goal is to get rid of stuff then mark the price extremely low to make whatever you can then donate the rest. Your time was not lost here, the time you spent here was getting you closer to the goal you set. She can now walk around the house and it’s livable.
Yes, great points. I loved all the time I spent here. If this was stuff I had inherited, I would have handled it very differently and I wish I could have had more time with Heather to explain why I would have just donated all of the clothes or that maybe an estate sale would be better once she made decisions on some of the furniture and such, but I didn't get that chance and just proceeded with what I last knew she wanted to do. But, we definitely learned a lot and I think she is in a better place now to get to that point where maybe she can have an estate sale soon.
I can tell from the before and after photos how much effort this took from all of you. One of the things I had to deal with when going through my mom's house was all the paper she had. Files from the 60's on to the present! Magazines! Letters! The worst was a gigantic pile of junk mail she felt she needed to shred in case someone should get her address!!!! When she was alive, I kept trying to tell her that everyone already had her address and that she could just throw it in the recycling bin and that it was a fire hazard, but she didn't like me telling her what to do. I cringe when I think about it now, so I am going through my files and shredding a ton of them.
After watching and listening to you find a place that is sending cloths to North and South Carolina the ones in the mountain need stuff some have nothing just call around to find whos taking stuff to them. Good luck ❤
What a turn around the process has been for you all. Bonnie, I wish that I could have attended the sale.......but living in the UK it was just a bit too far 😆 I really admire what you and your Mum did & how positive Heather is. You do an amazing job. 😊
The before and after are amazing. She did a great job downsizing. I'm sorry that your hard work didn't pay off in dollars as well as expected...but you still were a huge help to her by organizing everything into categories so it's easier to donate❤ Heather has such a beautiful spirit....what she said about how she copes is so inspiring❤ loooove that luggage BTW, that's got me written all over it
I’m also sorry for the less than optimal profits in the “Huge Sale”. In my opinion it’s time to give away AMAP to halfway houses, and shelters. With the help of friends and cousins, I had a sale done by a professional sale lady. Since that time I’ve given away tons of stuff. It is stressful, but when all the stuff is gone, it’s a great relief. 🖖💙

Your mom is so fun! Love you guys!
Love your mom ... and her daughter!!
Love watching you and your mom playing and working together
Hi, Bonnie and Heather!
I know that you won't make a huge dent but have you also considered doing care bags for Jr and High school nurses (accidents happen when we least expect it!)? Also, nursing homes and group homes are always looking for donations as well. (Group homes: adult living, rehab, transitional living, half-way houses, homeless shelters) Thank you for these amazing videos! Laughing and smiling is so important for our mental health. 🙂
Great seeing you and mum having fun together. I really enjoyed watching this video.
I haven't watched the whole series, but I loved this❤. Your mom is a true treasure. I vote yes for more videos with her in them❤❤❤❤❤
Sell the clothing on Thread up? Love your relationship with your Mom.
Commenting to keep your mom off the street! lol! That was a huge job! And I bet you’re glad it’s not your job anymore! Good work! It certainly gives good perspectives for people to keep in mind about leaving a lot to your family, or dealing with a lot that’s left to you.
Thank you!😁❤️
Ye certainly had great laughs on the sale day. I honestly can’t believe the difference in the before and after pictures. The whole series was unbelievable. Bonnie you have to keep your mam, she’s great fun. The luggage set is lovely. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐
Don’t fire your mom. Watching you two reminds me of all the fun I had with my mom. 🎉
❤Mom in the videos❤
Wonderful experience for you, your mom, Heather and her friend - was it Kathy?!
The house has made an amazing transformation! Great job, Heather!
It's been a fun journey. Sorry the sale didn't soar as it could have. Hope somebody gives Heather her own private miracle. ❤
It's all good. Many, many fun times and an experience we will never forget! I think Heather will be a miracle giver to many who will benefit from the donation of her mom's clothes. 🙂
@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp giving miracles are the very best miracles.
God bless Heather!! God bless you too Bonnie and Mom! Great job ladies!! ❤😊❤😊🎉🎉
LOVE your mom 😍
ALL THREE OF YOU--SQUIRREL!!!! Lol. Welcome to my world. The land of side quests. And why I do everything in circles.
Yep. I could have saved a lot of time in my ADHD evaluation and just gave this video to the evaluator and told her to watch that 8- or 9-minute segment. No doubt! 😄
Yep me too! 😂 Although I'm not Adhd I certainly behave like I am 🤣. I'm one big distracted circle 😆⭕
@ 100% work all dang day and accomplish nothing or very little. And then be exhausted and no one understand WHY. Smh!
WOW so much work! So well planned.
6:49 😂😂😂 I don’t think you could fire her if you tried! ❤😂😂
Keep your Mom, she’s adorable. ❤
You did a wonderful job!
Hard job. Great results. Yard sales are such hard work. Seldom pay off.
Yes, please, I would love to see your mom included in some of your future videos! She is just full of joy… And it’s contagious!
Amazing transformation! Yes, please include your mom
In more videos! I love watching how much fun you have together 🥰
What an amazing job you ladies did.❤
good job everyone
You are Wonder Woman!!!!
Watching this I felt I was among friends. Very fun to be around- friends. THANK YOU FOR THAT 🙏
Yes! Love your mom.
😍😍😍😍😍 Loved this series! Learned a lot. Don't fire your mom!
The yard sale was set up so great!!! I think just having the yard sale probably helped her heal - just going through the process. She’s right you’re an angel for being there because this was a HUGE undertaking! ❤
Yes for mom. Love you both.
I absolutely adore Heather. Knowing what she has been through is absolutely inspiring. Thank you for helping her and documenting this, Bonnie. I love watching everything you post. 🥰
Great job Bonnie, Donna, and Heather!!! A huge job and loved that you showed the steps in the process over the course of the video series.
Thank you so much! This has been one of my favorite jobs ever. 😊
Yes Mom is fun like me. Plus when you called her Mother the tone was just like my oldest daughter when I’m being out of control. 😂😂😂😂 I’m trying to think of someone to share this video with. Hmmmm❤
Share it with your daughter. 😉😁❤️
@ ok
Hi Pup! You and your moms relationship is priceless. Was the same for me and my mom❤
You guys are superwoman!! Amazing work! And the rooms look so pretty now ❤ I love the suitcases Heater gave you 😍
❤ watched all your videos and enjoyed each one. You have a calming voice. I love the way you fold linens and those videos are my zen. Thank you
Thank you so much!❤️
Mum is approved 👌 xx
Bonnie, that series was amazing! 💞 love your Mom
Mom should stay!! ❤
I would love to see more of your mom!
Brilliant series and the house looks wonderful afterwards! ❤
Wow. No wonder you had a meltdown. This was a very, very difficult job to do. Seriously. You really needed to recuperate. You are just too nice. Can’t wait for another video of perhaps an easier on you jobs.
Phew! What a mammoth effort, well done. ❤️🌺
Thank you! Mom might get promoted to be the subject of my videos. We can Swedish Death Clean her house next!😉
Nooooo, not until I clean it.🙄😉🥴@@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp
This was an excellent video. The ending with the dog. The best!!!!!
Bonnie, you're truly wonderful, and your mom too! I never miss an episode. My god hold you in the palm of his hand to give you strength to continue.
Yes, Bonnie, I would love to see your mom in your videos whenever possible.❤️❤️
Yep, love mom!
You are Amazing Bonnie and I would love to see more of your mom.
I love a mother/daughter team!
Wonderful transformation after so much hard work.
After watching and listening to you find a place that is sending cloths to North and South Carolina the ones in the mountain need stuff some have nothing just call around to find whos taking stuff to them. Good luck ❤
Love your mom, always a bonus❤. Have had yard sales for years and always so much work but you girls make it so much fun❤
What a turn around the process has been for you all. Bonnie, I wish that I could have attended the sale.......but living in the UK it was just a bit too far 😆
I really admire what you and your Mum did & how positive Heather is.
It's all good. It was still so much fun for me. Other than the long drive up there and back each time, this was one of my favorite jobs ever. ❤️😊
