    Yes, but the problem with 'ownership' is that you're responsible and accountable. Why not take a lead from Government and only 'own' the things that go well. The answer of course is that ministerial Government is a law unto itself. No JD, no PS, no annual appraisal, just take the money.

      I love the US version, Steve carell is so funny , there's some brilliantly funny scenes and is in a different class altogether than the English office ,it's one of the best US comedy series, but the english office still blows it out the water for the awkward comedy of Gervais , David Brent is a genius character that will never be bested .
      Don't think there will ever be another show that gets anywhere near as funny as the UK office

    • @cartoonhead3180
      @cartoonhead3180 2 роки тому +5

      Yeah definitely. It's interesting how Neil wasn't so preoccupied with being popular, but ended up being so popular by a) being a good manager in the traditional sense (micromanaging staff, ensuring company profits and employees have job security, etc), and b) just being himself and not trying too hard to be liked.
      I think part of the tragedy of the whole show is that David isn't really a bad guy, he just never really understood the above.
