    Looking good. I love how they sound too. I just used the same speakers in a Speaker build, that looks like an Emoji.

    Do you know if adding components on the inside like an small amp and a battery pack (10AA's) would have a noticeable drop in performance?

    Hi there! I'm trying to make a "mini system hifi" only with ND speakers and NO TWITTER, I liked the sound of the ND91 but I like the ND65 highs too... They are natural... My question is, how to tune exactly 2 nd65 paires with 2 nd91? I only know how to calculate it with only ONE tipe of speaker...

      +Liba Wo Barefro Thanks. I've used them everyday since then for my own personal computer. One thing I really like about them is you can also listen to things very quietly if you need to, with great detail, like when it's late at night and the rest of the fam is sleeping, and you wanna keep binge watching on Netflix, etc. If I had it to do over again though, I would probably add a Hi Pass Filter somewhere like 50Hz-60Hz and then they'd be perfect.

      +Liba Barefro - The smaller depth you desire would just be a function of how you choose to design the shape of your speaker enclosures.

    I have one of these in my bathroom ceiling and it can get loud. Good little speaker. Gets to about 95db before distortion and can diffidently vibrate the walls. Couldn't port so its heavily insulated.

    Click the link I provided to the vendors website. I posted a review on the item in which I stated the enclosure dimensions. 9 x 9 x 3.5 L-slotted tune to 50hz.

    Yes thank you this is what I've been looking for. I was looking for info on if midbass boxes being tuned to 50hz would work well. These sound great.

      Gary Hart Was looking around thinking about making a little boombox

    • @Silvertarian
      @Silvertarian 9 років тому

      Gary Hart Would these boxes work with a sub box that is tuned to 30hz?

    • @GaryHart69
      @GaryHart69 9 років тому

      B4DH4cK3r To say a sub box is "tuned" to 30Hz just means that the output of that box is engineered to be optimal around that frequency range... this is not the same as saying that sub box will ONLY play around that frequency.

    • @Silvertarian
      @Silvertarian 9 років тому

      Thats not my question

  • @ziggy8757

    would be nice to see those boxes completely finished, so they look cool

    • @GaryHart69
      @GaryHart69 9 років тому

      ziggy8757 They grace the desk of my personal PC looking the same. Unfinished... only slightly darker now from the wood darkening as per normal. One of my intents was to have them for music at the beach. As such I figured it wouldn't be worth it to bother painting them or whatever. Of course... now you go and say that... so the idea of finishing them will creep into my head. :) Maybe this fall.

    can you help me with box volume and port size for the aura sound 3.5 in versions

    • @TheGDizzo
      @TheGDizzo  6 років тому +1

      Just grab ahold of WinISD and install that. You input all the Theile-Small parameters that describes the driver... then in their forms where it plots the graph for you.... you experiment with enclosure volume and desired port frequency tuning. Try to get a tuning for the port air speed (mach) goes down to like lower than .07 The lower the better, but the lower you go the port size and length starts to get ridiculous so ya just have to find a good middle point where you can actually pit a port of that opening size and of that length within the enclosure you intended to build and still it has the recommended internal volume after you subtract however much mounting the driver itself will also subtract from that inner volume.

    would you say the highs coming out of the nd65s are good enough to the point a tweeter isnt really needed? are the lows clean enough also?

    • @GaryHart69
      @GaryHart69 10 років тому

      On my Lepai LP-2020A amplifier, for these ND65's I actually have the Treble control at almost 2 tick marks past top-dead center. (Bass control on top dead center) and like this it sounds perfect. So highs with a mild EQ boost sound spot-on. My ears are teeny bit sensitive to highs that are too bright. So I felt the end result was perfect. And the bass of these things is crazy amazing for their size. But you *will* get motor-boat sounds if you try to make them produce the super low-lows. Down to 50Hz, maybe 45Hz range before the bass starts to beg for help.

  • @StreetMobTruckin
    @StreetMobTruckin 7 років тому

    so do these produce bass or mid and high as well?

    • @TheGDizzo
      @TheGDizzo  7 років тому

      Go check out the specs on them, over on www.Parts-express.com it lists the frequency response.

  • @GaryHart69
    @GaryHart69 10 років тому

    You'd just have to increase dimensions ever so slightly since airspace would diminish a teensy bit. And actually... I probably wouldn't even bother increasing airspace since I think a slightly higher tune of 55hz or 60Hz would suit this driver well.

    • @TheGDizzo

      9" x 3.5", and the slot goes most of the way back. I just used the box calculators over on dbdynamixaudio.com/category/calculators/ (You're welcome! And while you're there, definitely make use of their calculator for T-Line boxes and make yourself one for a sub! T-Line subs are soo awesome it's not funny!)

    i'm a bit late to the party, but how did get such great sound out of these lil things? i got a pair, and didnt get the same result with a traditional ported box. I want to have another go using them, but would love to know the internal volume.
