Found that for the 2017, the gasket is more flat with a flange and there is not a groove in the housing like the old design. As a result you have to set and hold it as you press the housing back into place. For this reason I had to remove both coolant lines to set the gasket. Trying the other way (without seeing the where the gasket seated), resulted in the gasket falling down. I lost about a quart of coolant, and also learned that I had to refill at the radiator. I thought the coolant would refill from the reservoir, but got some unusual temp readings when I did my initial test drive. Thanks for posting the video. It got me started down the right path.
Thank you so much for this valuable and helpful video. I have a similar issue with my Nissan Murano and am about to replace the oil pan gasket. Fortunately, I found your video and double-checked the leak against my car and it was indeed the Oil cooler gasket. It was easy and simple to replace the oil cooler gasket. Again, many thanks for the awesome video.
You'll always want to detach the line to the right as contaminants from the faulty gasket can get into the cooling system that's why at my shop we always remove that line and this way we can get to the back of the filter housing and make sure that it is absolutely 100% spotless. This is so that you have a proper seal which is extremely important.
Great video, I tried to leave the oil cooler on with the hoses but I don’t put it on right and it was leaking. So I went back and took the hoses off and it works great my mom is so happy thank you so much.😊
What do you know about a 2005 Nissan Murano engine Light & Brake Light coming on. A new Battery & new alternator was removed & installed I'd learned that the battery amperage was at 600, too low & needed to be 700 amperage so I purchased a 750 amperage battery for $21 it seemed to have corrected itself but at a later time bothe indicators returned. Could that be a bad alternator or wrong alternator. I'm only learning myself. Thanjs for your expertise!
Hey doc I’m sorry to bother you but I got a 2016 Chrysler 300 c awd and my front differential cover only is broken but nobody know how to change it because is weird and thing is that everyone is telling me that doesn’t exist the AWD can u help me to explain the situation :)
Hey buddy my UA-cam family is never a bother.awd 300 Do exist lol the person told you that is lacking knowledge. Can you look me up on Instagram and send me a picture if possible
Can you shine some light on a issue I have , Please! I am attempting to do this on my 05 Murano. However I guess the previous owners put the oil filter so tight. I can Not get it off. Can you tell me how to get it off? I just don't understand why someone would over tighten it like this , to where I can't get it off.
@@AlexTheCarDoctor Ok, so i replaced alternator and battery terminal cables and my car is still intermittent stalling. sometimes the cut off will last an hour then cut on and drive sometimes itll be days or weeks before it drives again. Ill recharge the battery and sometimes itll start then die 5 minutes later. just this week it ran for two days then died on the highway while driving. when trying to start it- it will try to turn over until the battery is fully drained.
@@AlexTheCarDoctor yeah currently only seeing about 1 light and the battery symbol is stuck flashing on when driving the indicator i see is an exclamation point in parenthesis and honestly cant think of the name of it currently but only that light
Hello Car Doctor, Thank you so much for your vid. I am female who doesn’t know much about car mechanics to help myself but I just bought a 2009 Nissan Murano S and realized it has a huge oil leak and I am panicking. I went to Google and found your vid and it’s almost identical to my leak. Thing is I want to get an idea of what problem I potentially be looking at before I try to find a mechanic who might try to tell me otherwise; nor do I need them taking my car apart unnecessarily as free buying this car I cannot afford much else. I don’t want to feel I got a lemon also. I took a video of what I could but it seems almost exactly line the leak in your video. Is this a pricey job? Anyway I can upload my little video? I am feeling depressed already just didn’t have a mechanic to check beforehand and it would have costed me anyhow and the car was not licensed to go on the roads so I know I took a risk. Thanks for any info! Appreciate your postings in helping us all.
I wish I had a dependable & knowleable mechanic like you. Swear. This is my issue on my Murano.

Thanks for your help, saved me a few hundred at the shop!
Oddly I had the issue with a 2010 Murano as well. Worked perfectly. $6 gasket and a couple of hours of my time, taking my time at it and no hiccups.
Alex, a suggestion - use a mobile shelf cart to put the tools and parts on, instead of a lift arm. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching buddy. I will look into that thanks for your feedback
I’m going to put this on TikTok see you there thank you for helping me
I always use assembly line to hold gaskets in place. Vaseline works too.
Thank you for this information and video!
Muy bien video, ahora se cómo hacerlo yo mismo en mi camioneta, les cuento luego como estubo.
Gracias por todo.

Get a big pair of Chanel lock pliers or take a screw driver, hammer it straight through the oil filter and twist the screwdriver till it comes off.
I need this done on my altima I have the part but I don't trust my jack lol
Thanks for the video
No problem 😄
i see you have a jaguar behind you i really need help diagnosing an electrical problem im having with my 2011 XF

YOU SHOULD USE IMPACT SOCKETS
I normally do you caught me being lazy I did not feel like finding the socket
You should use lower case
I touched the cooler line with a screwdriver and pocked a hole in it
Not oil cooler. Need on changing front seal.
