I noticed you listed a memory of DDR3 1600. But the service manual only talks about supporting 1066 or 1333. So are your saying it also supports 1600?

Thank you so much for this video. Just build a system in the t5500, your video saved me time. This is great system to build in, even today. Used a 5690 and Rx 580. This machine is built like a tànk. Love the video.

Hello. Cool. The swivel on the side of mine is a bear to pop up. I want to ask if the Precision T5500 is compatible with:
    1) ASUS ROG STRIX RX 570 GAMING OC
    2) MSi GT 1030 AERO ITX 2GD4 OC
And will I need that pin converter?

Curious. It's capable of having 2 processors, and with a Bios upgrade and the wing for that processor running 144GB.
So my question is, can you do all that (144GB with 12 cores) and fit in a decent graphics card? Or is there a space or power supply issue?

The fastest processor for a T5500 is a Xeon X5690 with a TDP of 130W. The fastest under 130W TDP is an X5675, which you can put a riser unit and run dual CPUs with extra RAM (ECC DDR3 1333Mhz)

Or is x5675 better?!? On the processor there is a native tower without a cooler on the e5520.

There is no way you could use a 1080Ti I believe that has one 8 Pin and one 6 Pin with a TDP of 250W. The 2 6 Pins could be adapted to an 8 Pin provide 150W with the board supplying another 75W meaning 225W total. You would need 3 6 Pins to get that running.

    Hello,
I am looking to install a gtx 980ti in this. The 980 ti has 1 6pins conector and 1 8 pins conector. The t5500 has 2 6 pins. Can I use a 6 to 8 pins conector for the 8 pin on the card, and use the other 6 pins directly?

I have my configuration .....I realised mine supports 72 gigs with single cpu.... I got single 16 gig 10600r in dim 1, 2, 3 and single 8 gig 10600r in dim 4, 5, 6.....72 gig total.....system config single x5680, EVGA hybrid GTX 1070, 72 gigs ram, 256 gigs Samsung Evo 840 sad... Bios version a09
Using dual cpu in my other t5500 i put single 16 gig sticks of ram in dim 1,2,3 and 8 gig stick in 4,5,6 and riser dim 1,2,3 .....and I got 96 gig total.... I realised I could only use 88 gigs of ram.....probably one of the stick s are bad....will try that out again and see if that's been resolved .....at boot it gave an error that ram failure detected at riser dim 2.....my system config.....dual x5675.....96 gig (88 gig usable), 256 gigs Samsung Evo 850, zotac GTX 1070...Bios version a18
You can try it out it works
