Haute Route: The Most Beautiful Place to Suffer
Вставка

- Day 3. These are the most beautiful 35 miles that I have ever traveled. Prafleuri, Des Dix, Arolla, La Sage, Lac de Moiry and Zinal. Places who’s natural beauty I could never capture properly. All day long I would stop and be awestruck by my surroundings even when my toes felt as if they’d been smashed with a hammer and my legs complained about the 30,000ft of climbing I’d put them through over the last 3 days. The real topper would be if Christof somehow managed to find his way from Tokyo, Japan to Zinal, Switzerland where we had planned to meet a week before.

Love the Christof travel footage mixed in with Danny's "journey of pain"
Bryan Wright I was so delirious I don’t even remember filming any of that:)
Thanks for taking the additional time to capture footage, I know it’s difficult to place the camera and get footage then go back to retrieve it. Again thanks your Awesome! 👍🏽👣👣🏔
This is definitely one of my favorite channels on youtube
When Christof mentioned Danny's text about how the climb would've made him cry, I laughed so hard😆🤣
"Should be a who knows how long kind of a day with a who knows how much amount of climbing"
This is the motto of the adventures on the channel
Ok genuinely one of my favourite videos. The two journeys coming together took the video to another level 👍🏼
How come I did not see this series about the Haute Route earlier? I've been looking at the winter-version of the Haute Route, but decided that there are more beautiful routes in winter, and less crowded. Deep respect for managing to film such a long day!
Hell yes , your legs need to be studied for science
A baguette and a coke are the two best things consumed after a killer run/hike.
I have to laugh at Christof's last remarks here, about how he can endure pain and suffering with Danny at home, any time he wants. There is a lot of pain, suffering, victoriousness, transcendence, beauty,...... shown in these videos and it is GREAT to see.
These are lovely videos, but for some reason this one brought tears to my eyes. My family has a chalet in Zinal, so I was able to recognize all the stations Christof was going through - the escalators at Zurich airport, the transfer in Visp, that orange overpass in Sierre lol. And I know exactly how everything feels there. I even know the owners of the hotel you stayed at. Somehow, though, seeing it through your eyes moved me. Thank you for this. I have a new appreciation for how lucky I am.
That final drone shot is absolutely breathtaking! Thanks for another fun video!
Despite the harsh route-finding setbacks your cumulative skills and mental toughness have carried you through. I could sense an attitude shift when meeting up with Christof. You guys are inspirational in your devotion to traversing these beautifully remote areas, capturing even a glimpse of the beauty, and sharing with anyone who might not have the ways or means of doing them.
Great videos of your adventures! I love your genuineness and enthusiasm to take on the toughest challenges. While I am adventurer, nothing compared to your challenges. I live vicariously through your adventures but understand "rage haze" when you're taking on a tough challenge and take a wrong turn. It made me laugh as well as empathize. Keep up the great videos!!
Such a great video. Love all your content so much!
Inspirational shots. Thank you,
Wow!! I would love to follow all your journey, definitely one of the best UA-cam channels!! Happy to be one of your subscribers! 👍
You guys are monsters! Quality footage and good story telling as well, keep up the good work.
your content is so awe inspiring, and one of my favorite channels to watch. I am baffled that you do not have more subscribers. i do feel like 2020 will be a big year for your channel growth. stay safe and keep up the videos.
Stunning views and video..... as usual.
What great pictures of the really beautiful photos. The are terrific pictures of the entire area.
love these videos! cant wait for skiing again tho
spectacular and inspirational. Add that section to #bucketlist
I have done a bit of travelling in the mountains but you are full on hard core I dont know how you recover each day, Chapeau to you my friend
digging these videos. nice work!
My son and I did this hike in July- a beautiful and exciting route.Bonne chance for your last two days!
You are the highest master of hiking. Incredible views / great video as always. Can't wait for the next installment video of this series: "Crying With Christof!"
3rd of your videos I watched and now I realized that it's a fastpacker channel. Subscribed.
These videos are amazing!! I actually am currently studying in Bologna, Italy and would be honored to go for a run/hike with you guys
Best channel on Yt, by far. Keep up the fun!
Wtf. So dope. How do you recover so quickly. I hike our biggest mountain here in southern California, couldn’t imagine waking up to re hike these elevations. Good on you dude, very cool!
This is so freaking great. Premium mix of stunning Swiss mountain beauty, ridiculous badass-ery, and hilarious whining. I absolutely love it.
Not sure who has taken a worst beating. I can't imagen doing either trip. We have a saying, Take the pain and move to the next level. That you both are. Great video thanks for sharing your adventure.
I was hiking and climbing in the Alps for a month and a half in 2017. Best time ever.
Love your stuff.... If there is any conciliation, I have a blister on my index finger from doing hiking trail maintenance. cheers
Great Video, Love your Channel :)
Dix hut, fond memories. The pyramid looking mountain behind you is Mont Blanc de Cheilon, which we climbed along with La Luette. You guys should return for a mountaineering holiday and then you'd get the true vibe whilst staying at Dix ;-)
You are insane, bro! Inspirational.
'king love this series. I demand more for my fee!
King of pain, thx for doing hard sh*t and providing the motivation to go longer
I hate going the wrong way! Beautiful country though, can't wait for the next leg of the journey.
Man you're an animal. Super impressive, love the vids
Truly astounding.
Amazing scenery and excellent work! As always, I really appreciate the time and care you put into the quality of your filming and editing, during difficult and painful situations. Were there any legal or technical difficulties with flying the drone there? Permits needed? Thanks.
What kind of blue pant is that? LaSportiva? Fantastic channel of course! Epic adventures. Thanks for bringing us along on them. 👊🏻
I stayed at the Prafleuri 10 years ago ... should have done it in the spring on skis, so much easier to travel over that terrain.
Danny - question about your shoe selection in general. Do you prefer Goretex or not? It seems skiing down snowfield would = wet feet regardless. Just curious if you prefer waterproof shoes.
Love the channel. Can't wait for the next episode. Congrats on the success and keep up the motivating and entertaining content.
Your videos are unique. They bypass all the crap that most travel/adventure videos have. Its just funny, ironic, epic adventure. If I vaped, I'd puff your channel since it captures the essence of adventure so well.
The location changes with audio replicates the hallucinatory time warp aspect of having met such a challenge.
Nice trail and scenery and meet up with a buddy - after a few red herrings. Mark
I've been to lac de moiry and it's beautiful
Love it. As they say in Scotland, "Full conditions."
That part you got lost in is so shit! I did that too and met some others who were so worried they were lost.
I did the Route in reverse and the signage is even worse if that’s possible.
Nice work!
Awesome video as always, and I’m super stoked for what’s to come! Quick question: what type of GPS system are you using to track your mileage and climbing? Something like a Garmin watch, or a dedicated GPS tracker?
Your footage always looks amazing. What equipment do you use to capture such dynamic range? I don't recall seeing any overt clipping of the highlights and there always seems to be plenty of shadow detail. Great footage.
Epic, chapeau !
i love your guys videos, and i respect the way you want to do your trips, but i just dont think i could crush miles like that in such a beautiful place...
Somehow I feel like Blake got sick during this run, even though he was 5,000 mile away.
OH MY GOSH !!! You guys have hit a new all time low. What with Danny meandering the basically flat, viewless Swiss countryside and Cristof jet setting all willy-nilly across the Earth, I’m left feeling disappointed and uninspired. Just....THANKS...THANKS A LOT ! And by the way, that was the most pathetic shade of blue I have ever seen on a high country body of water. Switzerland, you are slippin’. Gentlemen
strathack33 😂
Christof flies in business apparently! that's the only way to get some rest on those transatlantic and transpacific flights. I can only imagine because I've never had the privilege.
7:01 holy hell that water is blue
Awesome video I'm subbed.... what do you carry? Doesn't look like much in your pack?
I've been following you guys for some time and I'm convinced that if you ever bother to trace your ancestry you might be pleasantly surprised to find out that there are some billy goats somewhere in your DNA. What you guys make look easy is off the charts impressive and borderline unbelievable. I'm in awe.
Wow, gorgeous scenery, and incredible distance and elevation! You must be in amazing physical condition! How much solids & liquids do you carry in your pack for a day like that?
E S yes, what powers danny
That funk smell though
Which app do you use for navigation? Love these videos!
How does any of Danny's hiking buddies keep up with him..?? BRUTAL..
Christofe, how could you have so little faith in Danny! He was in the damn mountains. That's why he didn't get your texts! Danny, I don't know if anything ever really bothers you. If it does, you sure to keep it hidden. I admire your ability to just take on whatever comes and keep going. 22 miles and 6k vertical on Day 1 turns into 30 miles and 10k of climbing. No problem. Impressive. Oh yeah,, that AND you stop to set up the camera for remote shots.
I'm looking to do a double GR20 and then Haute Route trek. Based on when you published the video did you guys run it in early September?
Christoff got a strong face yo
What the hell! I didn't realize danny documented these adventenures he tells about on news af
The Haute route seems to be different on everyone his video i watch xD this looks more like a weird mont blance route tbf
You guys are hilarious
What are those awesome blue pants you’re wearing?
I like your pure and fresh feelings as they are said in front of the camera.
You should be working for National Geographic.😂
The mountain is whre that I am stunned while I'm in it.
Thanks for sharing
From " Iran "
You never sleep Danny! Where is Blake?
What app do you use to plan your routes?
Shot @ 01’47 💥
What is the music/artist that starts at 1:40?
Do you and Cristof have social media accounts? It would be cool to see what you guys post
how do you keep your feet warm/dry in those conditions?
👍💯
What do you guys do for work?
Wait what does almonous mean?
Please slow down & smell the roses
I like and follow your videos. I am also a hiking and running enthusiast. But Dany, it seems you do not fart and only pure gold comes from your guts. Please, stay safe and post. Marek
Does anyone know what he does for work?
what you have done in 5 days i think will take 5 weeks to watch
Kristof/Christof, are you a commercial pilot?
👨🏻✈️
Is this what you do for a living.
"Toes are hamburger meat" 6:07 Improper fit of shoes?
wtf, where was the pizza?!
As long as Christof doesn’t fart in the room, all should be right in Danny’s world now.
PA_ Hyker no guaranties:)
Meanwhile, I can’t even go 6 miles without my hip getting inflammation. Extreme sad face
Can’t understand why you are running. Isn’t it worth spend time to watch where you are? To stop and enjoy the surroundings? Or is it just sport?
you need to learn paragliding. would make going down quick and fun. some only weigh 1.5 kg. its not that hard and would cut time in half.
Need more mediocre videos, please!
Beautiful views and edit but not much point of doing such long days … you’re missing the essential …
long legs
I recommend mouth breathing. You eat more farts and funk but the smell is gone.
