I always feel so much better knowing that The Big C is with you all to make you three handsome adventurers stop and eat well along the way.. And that Dan the Man, of course, will continue to provide caution and wit in the midst of any danger and Matt to provide his brilliant intellect and vast knowledge on the terrain. And I was not paid nor compensated for making this comment.
Wow, you made that look easy! The glaciers that flow down the valley below the Jungfrau are indeed enormous. 2 years ago I joined the groups that hike down the glacier, staying 1 night at the Konkordia hutte on the way. We hiked quickly for maybe 8 hours on the glacier and still managed to only cross maybe 2/3 of it. When you are out on it, it just seems to go on and on. Below the Konkordia hut it is supposed to be 900 metres thick (about 3,000 feet) as I recall.
When I was at Konkordia they had just build the new metal staircase, but had already had to put in a normal ladder to get to the staircase. The ice was melting that fast. This was in 1999, just after the horrible Galtur avalanche. We were the first group being able to go up again.
Thanks for putting in perspective how incredible this place is. I grew up here as a kid, now taking its beauty for granted. Watching this through your eyes was kind of humbling putting things back into perspective. Great edit, keep aan butchering the words! Only after you mentioned no cars did I figure out you said Wengen hahaha!
I like the climbing parts of these videos, but I also like to see the travel segments where you guys experience and react to local places, customs, food and culture.
Had the same experience with the rain when I was in the Swiss Alps. Every single night I'd look at the forecast and see 100% chance of rain, make plans accordingly, wake up and...0% chance of rain, completely sunny...
Video would have been better with some sausage or raclette or rosti! Best part of Guggibutte was making last call at the hut on the way back down. That sausage looked INSANE! Christophe and Matt need to be doing the route planning -- at least they make time for the food!
Another fantastic video, and such great timing! I’m heading to Lauterbrunnen and Chamonix in a few weeks and the Jungfrau is on my list of climbs while I am there. Congratulations on your climb and thanks for the great beta.
Awesome, so glad the weather held up till you summited, fantastic scenery and views! Now let's hope next videos will show you made it to the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc or at least one of them, but even if you didn't I think Jungfrau made it worth it coming to the Alps this time :)
I always love these videos, and as an actual amateur I have learned a ton from this channel. But I have to question something in this one. On the rappel, the rope was run directly through the loop tied in the end of the fixed line. I know they say not to do that for safety, which isn't even my concern here; both ropes can easily handle the small amount of friction they may experience during the rappel. But when pulling your rap rope through, it's going to wear heavily on the fixed line. Wouldn't it have been better to leave a locking carabiner on the fixed line to avoid wear for anyone else who needs to follow?
amazing videos! really entertaining and great selection of summits. as a german/austrian guide the only thing i can criticise is the mix between roped up / and not being roped up. on a glacier covered in snow you should always be (that is not a debate) , and on that climbing sections you kinda shouldnt to avoid a complete tumble of the entire group. nevertheless, good effort!
How do you find the white mountain hardware bag? Been looking at that for ski mountaineering and general winter based activities, ice climbing etc. To replace a far to large 40litre bag.
I think the voiceover at the beginning was a good choice. Allowed the video to get going earlier. I also enjoyed the updated version of one of the old go-to soundtracks.
wait the matterhorn? You guys finally doing real mountaineer expeditions? also by the way Switzerland is one of my favorite places in the entire world. I am Belgian American so I have been several times. the Matterhorn is known as the Servin in French. I most likely butchered the spelling.
Maybe I'm already an oldtimer, but with just three guys on a rope, would it make sense to make knots in the rope between you, just for extra friction in case someone would fall into a crevasse? Or has this been abandoned already?
I think you need to dispense with the words 'mediocre' and 'amateur' - that looked pretty hardcore. Keen to see if you do the Matterhorn - that's another level of hardcore. Good luck.
I noticed that you have been privatizing old old vedijoes. I like the early early ones. I just want you sound font for my phone ring. The old old one . Mediocre Amateurs for life!
I gave 25 likes for Christophe just being there
I love this comment lol
2:04, why am I getting nostalgia hearing that drum beat...
That sound clip/beat is MA.
Right! I'm not sure the last video that it was in but it sure feels like a while
Love hearing that drum beat
Your making some of the best videos on you tube right now!!
Love seeing new ones in the feed
It’s insanely perfect
Inspirational stuff. When you see these guys breathing hard I know I would be totally crushed.
Great coverage! And a couple of old school Mediocre soundtrack choices in there 👍
Danny's "glass half empty" outlook at the beginning of every trip resonates deep with my old man spirit.
I wish I had 2 friends that liked to hike AND had money
Ohhh man this video was amazing !!, Can’t wait for the next one, ( I’m positive I heard Danny say Mount Blanc and Matterhorn are on their list !!!!
It’s crazy that you guys tackle things without a local guide, takes huge balls!
Thanks for showing off my home country! And your pronunciation was good!
Bump for the algorithm. Thumbs up for the best channel on UA-cam!💪
I love MA videos. Good to hear some of the old music creep in. Thanks ja

Ropes, ice axes, AND helmets? I don’t even know what channel this is anymore…

So grateful that you share your adventures with us. Thank you.
No dislikes 24hrs. I have never seen anything like this. Really shows how much your community loves the videos you make.
1.2k likes, 0 dislikes... unheard of.
Now there are 2 dislikes and I doubt those are real human dislikes, must be bots, I refuse to believe there are such people :)
@@AleksandarGospic there’s always a prick or two.
Legit my favorite channel on UA-cam right now, love following you guys on your sick adventures!
Great video …I climbed the jungfrau a few years ago and I was totally unacclimatised …it was the hardest thing I have ever done
It's an awesome feeling when you complete stuff you first saw years ago, keep up the inspiring videos!
I was just in Mürren last week, staring at the Eiger and Jungfrau from my porch. So cool that you guys were just there!! These videos are gold!
Man, you guys are living the life. Really inspiring.
Thats two videos now without a mention of a bear. New record!!!
it’s an amazing day when we get a video, thank god, bless you guys
I do like your adventures. Wonderful being safety conscious. Thank you.✨✨
on a cloudy day i want to see christophe and a large cheese fondue go head to head. come back in the winter. you can ski from the top of the jungfrau
Nice climb guys, so cool that they have infrastructure to get you to the mountains. Loving your Alps videos.
You guys are awesome!
Beautiful! Thank you!
It’s intersting to see the descent as well as ascent most climbing vids always leave this out (including yours) it’s cool to see how you get down.
Wow you all made it to the big time! Unreal scenery!!
I like the climbing parts of these videos, but I also like to see the travel segments where you guys experience and react to local places, customs, food and culture.

You guys make me want to quit my job and move to the mountains full time
Fantastic! Thanks guys!
You guys are amazing!!!!

Love your channel. Have a great Swiss adventure!
Wow, so much snow. Great adventure!
Incredible. Great work. The views.
Nice! Happy Thursday amateur fans. Inspiration time
The best time to visit the Alps is in winter. Blue skies.
Great video. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
"Jungfrau is all wow"
Great insight: accesible =/= easy. As always, amazing video!
awesome video guys
Can’t wait to watch you do Matterhorn
A true brotherhood tying rope to all three in case one goes they all go.
Did I hear Matterhorn?!?! Now that’s a tease!
Blimey that train is quiet! Normally at this time of year it would be completely full.
Amazing!
This video is epic. What a cool line to climb.
Switzerland: my favorite place in the world!
@Danny depending on the weather systems, you could go back to stay in Dix Hut over in Arolla and climb Mt. Blanc de Cheilan and La Luette ;-)
Awesome ! Great job guys !!!!

Looks amazing. Thank you for the awesome content.
Just started following your channel and Im catching up on all the videos. You guys are fuckin beasts ❤
Out of this world boiz good job
She-it! Now I am compelled to drop everything for the next 11:04 minutes. Guess I can call and tell them I will be late for that appointment.
Ha! The intro sounded like a Billy Yang setup . The music pushed it over the cliff!
Really cool stuff. My fav channel on the tube
Nice job! Did you head back down to Klein Scheidegg or Gindewald for a nice Rosti and Radler!? Next time, climb Eiger?

Danny’s pronunciation of the Swiss names really improved for this video… great work!!
Nothing like 1k thumbs up and ZERO thumbs down. That is the mediocre way.
Mind blown. Nothing in the US compares to this. Fantastic.
AK with better access.

Are Danny and Matt using the Dynafit Expedition 30 pack?
7:14 Lauterbrunnen valley on the right?
I think the voiceover at the beginning was a good choice. Allowed the video to get going earlier.
I also enjoyed the updated version of one of the old go-to soundtracks.
If Tyson is America's Dad then Danny is America's Adventurer.
you guys should go to Nepal
Surprised nobody was skiing that! Too much crevasse danger I presume?
2:41. Good call.
Matterhorn? I sure hope the weather cooperated.
Nice work y’all!
Always cool and inspiring! By the way the words aren’t foreign because you’re in Switzerland!🤣 And you do butcher them!
wait the matterhorn? You guys finally doing real mountaineer expeditions? also by the way Switzerland is one of my favorite places in the entire world. I am Belgian American so I have been several times. the Matterhorn is known as the Servin in French. I most likely butchered the spelling.
Absolutely WoW!!!
You guys are climbing Matterhorn???
I was thinking the same thing!
That was their plan for this trip, but I'm afraid they didn't get to do that this time around due to weather. Saw it on matts Instagram story
Like!, now let’s see it.
Maybe I'm already an oldtimer, but with just three guys on a rope, would it make sense to make knots in the rope between you, just for extra friction in case someone would fall into a crevasse? Or has this been abandoned already?
what did you use as an anchor to do the short rappel over the crevase?
How do you go down that? I usually have no issue up, but going down in always a scary and painful (knees) experience. How do you go down?
Brilliant video guy's. I did pretty much the exact same route a couple of years ago. Did you get chance to climb the Monch?
Yay!
Keep it up! Danny, also what track is the 2:49 mark? been wanting to find it for the past 2 years watching you guys!
You guys forgot your skis…
I think you need to dispense with the words 'mediocre' and 'amateur' - that looked pretty hardcore. Keen to see if you do the Matterhorn - that's another level of hardcore. Good luck.
I follow matt on Instagram, seems they didn't get to do it on this trip due to weather it seems
nice! I did it on skis in April. We had better views, but temperature was bellow -15C
"New day, trying to hit the Jungfrau" (=virgin in german)
Og mediocre music. Diggin it 🤙🏼
so cool!
I noticed that you have been privatizing old old vedijoes. I like the early early ones. I just want you sound font for my phone ring. The old old one .
Mediocre Amateurs for life!
so rad!
Just killing the pronunciations today. I’m a mix of impressed and concerned
