Appreciate you putting these comparisons out into the world, man! A lot of the ones I digest on UA-cam are more voice over/spoken word based. And while I do feel that gives us a dose of the tone of the gear, your use of both processed and unprocessed signals in context of singing (with a very gifted voice, might I add) is spectacular and truly appreciated. Thank you for your work. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Man that Bluey is very snappy compared to the other 2 FETs! I like it. My main comp is the BAE 500c (I think it was just recently discontinued) which is a 500 series version of a Rev C 1176 so i'm a fan of that style of compressor. That WeightTank seemed really cool! I had never heard of them before. Great vid as always man!
Black Lion Audio is a solid company to me. I’ve got some of their pres, their modded mic and this Bluey and I’m not disappointed at all. I like the mid-forwardness that it introduces. And how it helps things like Vox or snares sit in the mix for me. Man I LOVE vari mu compressors. They’re super musical too me and the Weight Tank is loaded for $900. I actually like using it as my main vocal compressor. I know companies like Klark and Warm get a bad wrap but I believe in finding a place for gear. I could use the KT76, WA76 or KT2A comfortably and get the job done. Thanks for the support bro! Engaging, discussing and connecting on YT is always dope!
Thank you for this great conparison. You really have a fantastic voice! Very talented. I bought a bluey after listening to this and some other demos. It sits just right in the mix when needed. Next piece in my sight is the asa6 by audio scape for a mu. I enjoyed the weight tank but i need to do aome more listening research. Thanks again!
Definitely appreciate the kind words and the support of the channel! I’ve been curious of a few audioscape products. The weight tank is solid in my opinion
Wow dude, this was done really great, keep doing these comparisons . It helps us decide what to buy, and see differences in sound vs price . Too bad you don`t get many views for this level of profesional content .
I totally appreciate the kind words and the support! It’ll grow lol I’ve got a couple other videos that have better viewing numbers. And I realize interaction like this one helped me get there with those videos
@@CarlMooreMusic For sure ,if you keep it up like this, at some point the numbers will start ramping up ,even tho` youtube is really shit for creators nowadays.... By the way, you should try the new revision of the sE Electronics T2 , sounds really creamy and present .
Man say that again! “Algorithm” is always changing. But the relationships I’ve been able to make with audio companies has been fruitful to say the least. Thanks for the referral! I gotta check that out asap!
Much appreciation!!!!! I think the bluey is solid for the price and then the Eden has girthiness to it with present but not overdone top end in both the Neutral and Gentle modes. For the forward mode, I feel like I need filter for tame the top end a bit but it still is a beyond usable mode. If the source is dark enough, it would be a good compliment! Thank you for the support!
I would say VCAs can definitely work out for that source type but I more so encourage using your ears for the source and the source material. Some may like the clarity/transparency with certain VCAs over FETs on some rap vocals but FETs are fast with color. If it gives you the sound you NEED, go with it. There are some specific rules that help guide you when you need to break them, but there really isn’t a totally “set in stone” method or answer.
Yea that bluey is nice! And the mid forward push helps too! I necessarily don’t agree with the “meh” perspective but I’m not knocking it. Not everything needs “color” or “vibe” some cleaner options are extremely useful. For the sake of time, I skipped a few settings , but the weight tank has two modes and variable attack and release times so it offers variety as well. I definitely think there are other options on the market but this proves that one could achieve quite a bit with these compressors. Appreciate the interaction and checking out the video!
Bluey pura lumbre🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Currently my fav combo is 1176 type (IGS Bluestripe) and vari-mu (IGS Tubecore500).
Bluey and Weight Tank sounds very nice. Worth the price.
I feel like for the price it’s a no brainer. I want to get my hands some IGS stuff. I’ve heard good things!

You might wanna check out the 1176s that audioscape is making.for the price i think they're great.
A buddy of mine likes them too. I’m definitely interested but they’ve an interesting inventory method
@@CarlMooreMusic i listened to your video comparaison with the lauten mics and i love the Eden and bluey combo.keep up the great videos.

What compressor works best for rap vocals I’ve heard vca would you recommend the same?????

The 2A was musical and pretty smooth.
Thanks for checking out the video and commenting! I don’t taking the KT2A gets enough love but it’s a USABLE unit
Love the gritty harmonic distortion of the Bluey! The others sounds meh ...
