They certainly wont fold like OMC/Burp, they are the power stroke of outboards, everyone on the internet isn’t commenting how good they are, just the bad, and when your market share is 50%, 1% comeback looks bad.....
Please do a video on this motor. An in-depth review would be helpful about the pros/cons/good/bad/etc.. and your thoughts compared to the other 4 stoeks out there. How does it compare! Thanks
Well it's hard to pick a favorite...Anything Suzuki because they seem to be the most reliable....Anything Mercury because we like speed...Nothing Evinrude because they're junk...and Yamaha is just Yamaha, they're okay! Haha
@@TeamMarineService I like the detailed, longer videos as its entertainment as well as educational. So whatever you want to do for the next repower is OK with me. So how did Team Marine come to be?
I just ran across yalls champ build and got to episode 8 and found no updates. Killin me lol. I have a 96 202 and its my pride and joy, parked it 4 years ago because it needed a rehab so bad and im about to take it on. gut and rebuild including transom. Any updates coming out?
Did you ever figure out why mercury and most other outboards put so much cylinders for so little hp, like when they get up to 8hp, ONLY 8 horsepower they switch to 2 cylinders. I have a riding mower with an 18hp engine and it had only 1 cylinder and it has to push the wheels, me, 1,000 pounds of tractor, and spin the blades while maintaining a specific rpm. And they put a v8 in ONLY 175HP . And they also put 4 cylinders in a 40HP OUTBOARD. Which is completely ridiculous. Why so many cylinders?
What would it take for a 37 year old to man to change his trade be a boat rigger outboard mechanic coming from an HVAC trade I luv boats I always see there hiring at the local marine places I jus couldn't go down on pay for my lack of experience from what I make now I guess you gotta risk it for the biscuit haha
Well you would have to take the pay cut for sure. Honestly it would be tough if you are inexperienced but it's the drive and work ethic that makes up the backbone of a good marine tech. Good luck buddy!
I’m just going out on a hunch this guy don’t like Mercury’s lol. Ran one for years no problem mostly Mercury’s down here in TN don’t hear much about a lot of problems with them but there are good and bad in all brand motors and if you run any motor hard enough and long enough it’s going to eventually break
I would say there is a lot of expierence for years…….Mercury is number 1 in boat engines . Look at the Japanese and Chinese crap….. do you wanna a Suzuki or do you like a BMW ???? for me the mercs are the Porsche on the water….. I am happy with merc pro xs
I’ll just have to come out and say it: Mercury Marine has been able to compete with the Japanese and do quite well to be honest.
When you strive to keep pushing the limits of horsepower it doesn't go unnoticed.

We can do that, however as of now it's NOT going to be a very positive review!
Great video, do these come as a complete package to rig and go , or do the control and guages come as an extra .
I love how he advertises the thumbnail like a kids toy unboxing video😂
I’ll look down the barrel and say it. I love Suzuki 👍
So what's your favorite motor or top 5 and where do the sho line up? I'm also not a merc fan. Way to many problems I've seen with them.

Umm... working with a sore back. MURICA-RY🇺🇸
How do you deal with repowers that have all the steering, power pole hoses, transducer thru the rigging tube
Wish you guys were in South Carolina.
Just hop in the truck and come up for a visit! haha
Don't you have to check the throttle opening % with the computer on the new Merc 4 strokes?
Yes we do! Thats part of the river testing...maybe we should film that part in the future?

We are firing up the Champ build again soon! 👍🏻
Wished that BMW could have bought Evinrude and made a go of it.BRP killed the brand!
What’s the price of one of these 4 strokes? When you trade in a 2 stroke ProXS
Two-year-old comment I know but base price on a 175 is $18,500 so a 250 is.... A LOT.

The new merc cowl are ugly. They would look so much better with an alien style cowl. You dropped the ball merc.....
Junk.
Before I watch let me guess it’s a piece of shit? Lol
They are a very ugly motor, almost as bad as the Evinrude G2 lol
We agree!
Don’t buy mercury motor they suck..👎👎
