Thanks for translating the "Do you hate being with me?" I was under the impression from other English translations that she was saying "You won't be happy with me." That makes a huge difference in the story! I really enjoyed this movie overall, and I liked the director's choice not to translate all the sign language so the audience must rely on the body language, facial expressions, and cinematography. A Silent Voice really conveys well this feeling of frustration in communication a deaf individual goes through on a daily basis.
Hello DeafJapan TV. I just want to say how amazing that you not only know Japanese and English but how you have learned JSL and ASL. I think that's awesome to know two languages and both the sign languages of them. It takes determination to learn two spoken languages, and the sign languages accompanying them shows true determination. Thank you also for decoding the signs from a Silent Voice. Thank you for reading!! I hope you have an okay day!! :)
I just discovered this channel and i hope to see part 6 one day, i don't know neither JSL or ASL but this videos are very interesting and i think i can learn some signs from them!
Hitori Shinda thank you for your nice comment. I hope to get to part 6 as well. Sorry I’ve been very busy with trying to work and support my family during this coronavirus pandemic. I hope to make part 6 by the end of April.
I am trying to learn asl and it's hard lol. I'm also learning some spoken languages at the same time like Spanish and Japanese. I would love to learn jsl someday and many other types of sign language. I'm glad I found your channel.
Hayley’s Comet That is so awesome you are trying to learn many languages. I really hope you can enjoy learning and have fun learning Japanese language. Thank you for your nice comment.
I hope you do more of these, cuz not everything in this anime is Interpreted, I especially want to know what everything meant at the bridge scene near the end!!!
This is difficult processing english, japanese, ASL, and JSL at the same time. a random JSL lesson on tv in japan a few years back sparked my interest. I guess it's kinda niche to go from english to JSL or any combination of the 4.
Hi man 🙂 what happened to you? I'm curious to see part 6! in particular I am curious to know why Ishida in the bridge scene gets embarrassed after making the sign of friendship. 😰 Greetings🤍
Hi, thanks for your message. I have been crazy busy with my other work and other youtube channels: Aloha Life Now and New Media Interpreting. I hope to get back to making part 6 next month!
Demetri Petrenko, Yes, Japanese sentence usually flip from American sentence but sometimes we don’t use “I” and “you” unless you talk to yourself or you talk to specific person or group for in Japanese
Music Diversity there is an online dictionary but you’ll need to use google translate to help you navigate the Japanese Language for the JSL: www2.nhk.or.jp/signlanguage/syllsear.cgi
JSL seems more congruent for me. Maybe because english isn’t my first language What does it mean fist with the pinky extended and the other pinky hanging from the other finger ?
Can you explain the sign language that Nishimiya and Ishida did on the last scene of the bridge where Ishidia holding Nishimiya? Really want to know that sign language they did, I can't find any on the internet too😣
Hi DeafJapan TV, I was wonder if can you explain about Japanese Justice System work ? also Korean court system if you can explain or not. Reason I watch many movie and Krama show, I tried to understand how it work. I know Korean have weird system or me wrong? thanks.
James Torgerson good question. Sorry I don’t know how the Justice system works in Japan. I recommend Googling it because it seems like it would be a very detailed and complicated topic.
@@DeafJapanTV thank you for reply ASAP. I did read their judge law in court for japan and Korean but not really clear as glass understand how the system work. I was locking for someone can explain with ASL. Thank you maybe also you like learn too. :)
@@DeafJapanTV I mean learning Spoken and written Japanese not JSL. Since you see a ton of different books and videos you don't know who is right and who just wants your money.
Umm,if u dont mind, can you tell me what does it mean, when nishimiya hold both of her finger upside down or like hanging both finger, she does it at almost at the end of the movie,it was at night at the bridge
interesting,... about last name i have see on Krama show all time. If happens have 3 older brother when I call last name then all 3 will come to me. I was not ask all three of them. so how ?? for me I will walk to right person and tap on his shoulder (maybe not Japan culture "tap on shoulder" ?) or use hand wave ? :)

Muhammad Andika Putra yes it does

Tyler Rusciano You can do it!!
Fascinated by being able to understand what was said in the anime. Looking forward to any future videos on this topic.

Now that I watched these videos it makes the movie even more deeper than it already is. I did pick up on some signs but not all.
I'm glad it helped. I plan to make part 6 by next month!
I honestly just started watching this series because I only wanted to know one sign from the movie
But now I’m interested!
I love your videos 😍
since i watch the animation. I used to mix ASL and JSL.

Please continue this series. Just finished the movie and I didn't get the JSL at the end/near the end (bridge scene)
that sign language nishimiya did ?
I hope you do more of these, cuz not everything in this anime is Interpreted, I especially want to know what everything meant at the bridge scene near the end!!!
She signs “Promise” (pinky fingers hooking to each other)
Thank you so much

Chloé Falkowski she says “Promise”

How the flip is JSL easier than ASL!? looking at it JSL uses less gestures than ASL

@@DeafJapanTV ouh I see. Thank you sensei😄
@@DeafJapanTV hi sensei! and when ishida hold nishimiya's hands (before she said she promises), is this means something in nihon shuwa? thank you!
Please teach me how to say "I want you to help me live" in JSL as in the one scene near the end of this movie. I really want to say it to someone
so that bridge scene near ending means FRIENDS

Where I can also learn asl cause my city don't have any deaf club or cafe and clases too
The most easiest place is to take an online ASL course or find an ASL teacher online.
This is cool because I know ASL and I want to learn Japanese.
Ben Simon I’m happy that you enjoy the video!
@@DeafJapanTV It's hard to find the right resources for learning Japanese.

I want to know what Nishimiya said when she left during the fireworks scene. Cos usually she's saying "see you later" but she didn't, that time.
She said "Thank you"

Wait i have watched this movie but these scenes in this video today is not included on the movie i watched. Is this part two?
