- Hey what;s going on everybody! In this video you watched me install new fuel components on my 2002 Nissan Maxima! I Installed a brand new Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, and Fuel Sending Unit! This was my first time doing anything fuel related on the Maxima and, let me tell you, it was awesome to learn and tackle something new! I hope everyone enjoyed the video!

Shouldn't be hardit should be under back seat.
Talk so much, take it to a shop since you so scare.
Your video was very detailed and informative ❤ thank you for sharing! 26:48
Any time you’re working with the fuel system, pull the fuel pump fuze, and turn the car over a couple times to release the pressure. I think the old 5.5 gen max has 9 bar pressure
Yes I definitely should've done that looking back on it now! Was my first time doing that. Live and learn haha. Thanks for the info/advice will know for next time.
@@Cpimms very good video though. Great angles
@@nissanslut7870 Thank you! Appreciate the support!
Are you available bro ? I'm at a major hurdle as far as finding these parts .. do u have an IG or something ?
@berniemackattack86 Ya my IG is in the description of the video.
Hey guys, hey guys, i'm sorry, sorry, talk so much bad vid, since you so sorry,.
Got a ‘01 maxima that I wanna mod and make it really stand out cause maximas aren’t too common to get mods or even seen out on the street as far as what I’ve seen and where I’m at. Any advice for a beginner? Looking forward to get started and see the potential my maxima truly has
Ya there's not a whole lot of modified ones out there. Parts can be hard to find too sometimes. Honestly it's all personal preference when it comes to modifying a car. One thing I would suggest is just don't cheap out on parts. If you're replacing OEM parts definitely stick with OEM if possible. If they are mods just make sure to do research and not just buy it because it's the "cheaper" option. I've done that and some stuff I definitely wasn't happy with.
Talks to much.
Appreciate the feedback. I'll take that into consideration for future videos.
I will probably be doing the same thing on my 2003 maxima.
I hate old Nissan clips with a passion... they’re everywhere!
Release the gas line pressure by pulling the pump fuse and run the car dry...clean the cover before you remove the gas tank cap
Yes definitely should've done that before hand now looking back. Was my first time doing that. Appreciate the advice! Will know that for next time.
I'm about to do mine at 309,XXX miles. I have new plugs and coils and my maxima is sputtering. after not driving it for 3 days I took it to work for a few days and it was driving good until the 3rd day than all of a sudden the sputter came back. I'm guessing it's a fuel issue since plugs and coils are new. plus i smelt gas when I took a embanked turn pretty fast. I remember my neighbor telling me he smelt gas inside his Sentra SE-R Spec V before he started having issues and his fuel pump failed.
Ya it's probably a good idea forsure! Obviously not knowing when it might of been done last either. Just better to be safe and do it just so you have peace of mind that it's new and ready to go.
@@Cpimms I doubt it was ever done. I had the car since December of 2012 and I never changed it either. not that the ECU is reflashed I'm guessing the extra fuel demand has got it to where fueling issues are starting to happen. reflash from Nisformance made a big differance, plus i have a lot of other mods...
@@uptownsamcv Gotcha!! Well definitely a good thing you're replacing it then. I would also possibly check your injectors as well just to be sure those are still good
@@Cpimms I changed the filter but it ended up being the connector on the #3 cylinder coil, I changed all 3 on that bank . I had already changed the ones on the front bank earlier this year. car runs like a champ now. I'm going to change the fuel pump and all the seals in the fuel pump housing just so everything is sealed real good and pressure is where it should be.
"Smelt"
By the way I found a UA-cam video by beachtroll where he shows how to test an older Nissan cluster to find out if the gauges are working ie if the cluster itself is bad. I tried it and my cluster is fine. All needles moved properly. I had my sending unit replaced by my mechanic but my gas gauge still always reads full, no matter the level of gas. Not sure what else it could be. 🤷♀️ Any ideas? Also, loved the video!
Unfortunately I have no idea. Sorry about that. Right now my gas gauge still doesn't read right. So I'm still putting up with it. I'm thinking about finding a place where I can get the whole cluster redone. Thank you! I appreciate that!
@@Cpimms Thanks for your reply! You might want to look at this UA-cam video to test your cluster. I did that and found the gas gauge and the whole cluster were working. Not sure what to do about that. ua-cam.com/video/gsRcK30z7c8/v-deo.html Let me know what you think if you want to :)
This might sound silly but I’d check it out if you’ve already gone as far as making sure your dash is reading properly... maybe your gas level gauge might be stuck in an up position? Could be giving you a wrong reading from inside the fuel tank? Since your dash is working, I’d say it’s either that or the sensor/clip or harness above the fuel pump assembly might be janky? Replacing the whole fuel pump assembly or just that sensor might help.
@@VZYBOI Thanks for answering! I did have a mechanic replace the sending unit. He said when he moved the part that floats, the gas gauge moved appropriately. However, once replaced into the tank, the gauge is still always reading full constantly. So it has to be something in the wiring somewhere. My cluster seems to be fine. What is the sensor/clip or harness? says there is a motor behind the cluster (?). He said his replacing everything in the video didn't fix his gauge either.
Doesn’t it all come together I mean the whole assembly
I know they can sometimes depending on the vehicle. I just got certain parts that needed to be replaced. The other stuff was fine to re-use
Would u recommend mix and matches components if. I'm not able to find the full assembly complete ??
Hey bro when I started up my maxima it up the gas gauge went from being in the half way after warmed up the gauge dropped to almost empty and the cluster still says I have 196 dte which obviously is a lie is it my cluster that is messed up? Or the fuel sending unit
What's going on man! My gas gauge is actually still giving me inaccurate readings as well even after replacing all the fuel components. So in my case I'm thinking that the small motor behind my cluster for the gas gauge is going bad. So you could be having the same issue as well. I'm planning to get my gauge cluster re-done soon at some point. I feel like you can't go wrong with replacing the fuel components though. That way you have the peace of mind that you have all new fresh parts you know.
@@Cpimms did you get it fixed? I have an 03 maxima as and gas gauge jumps most of the time.
Unfortunately replacing all that didn't fix the issue. I'm thinking it's one of the small motors behind the cluster that is bad. At some point I'm planning to get my cluster re-done.
@@Cpimms do you have a problem with your roof gettin wet towards the front of the sunroof as well? It usally only happens if the car is parked n it start raining. I’ve cleaned the drain holes over n over n it still gets wet n slightly drips if the rain is really heavy
@@derbycityracing2997 Are you referring to water actually getting inside the car? I haven't had any issues with water getting inside my car. However I've noticed water does like to collect towards the front of the sunroof near the windshield. I think it's just how they made it from the factory.
12:14 ok, problem averted 😂 mine was everywhere, but my fuel pump was in good condition
Hahaha yes luckly I didn't have a whole lot that came out!
Honestly, bc benzine is bad for the paint and obviously the smell
