ZZ Top “Legs” 👍🏻
I said the same! None of their songs get me like that one does.
Cheep Sunglasses
Thug. That slap bass.... so good.
Sleeping Bag
@@bookhouseboy280 Definitely 👍🏻
You might also enjoy "Gimme all your LOVIN'" & "Legs" by ZZ Top
Yep, two absolute Crackers. Definitely worth checking out 👍👍🎸🎸
These two are part of the ZZTop car trilogy and are must see videos as well
@@truckrboat I was gonna say the ZZ Top 3 hot girls trilogy 😆
Ahh the Eliminator Trilogy.
Gimme all your lovin, definitely!
Everyone deserves a second chance, so happy you decided to give ZZ another go!
There is a decade between when La Grange and Sharp Dressed Man were produced. Evolution of music....it's amazing.
Most people like the early blues style ZZ Top. This is when they went more commercial with all the synths. Both eras are quality.
“TV Dinner”🎶 I feel like it’s easier to love both the newer and the classic if you’re older (read: me🤣.) The youngers will most likely enjoy the new stuff. I’m a huge Deguello girl, but I really also like La Futura and Rhythmeen.
I remember back in the day, albums released in the USA weeks before they did up here in Canada. Me and 2 of my mates did a road trip to get this album opening day. 2 of us bought the album and the driver got the cassette tape so we could listen on the way home. After side one finished, the driver popped out the tape and threw it out the window! It was too much of a shock how much they shifted to pop/New Wave. I grew to love some of the newer stuff , but my heart will always be with the pre-Eliminator blues rock.
Exactly. They blew up during this era, but their hard-core fans prefer the more blues songs, first 6 albums and Rytheem.
Both eras are great but old school ZZ has swagger
A great band that was good in both eras; like quite a few others. I always gravitate toward the 70's songs from all these bands but can still enjoy the 80's stuff. I really think Molly would love Gotsta Get Paid; hope he continues with ZZ long enough to get to that one.
One of the best ways to enjoy ZZ Top is to get a copy of Eliminator and listen to it on a long late night drive. Just you, the road, and ZZ Top - feels so right.
That works in the USA and Australia, but he lives in England, he could drive the entire length of the country in one album.
...it is unfortunately also one of the best ways to get a speeding ticket. Of course I heard that from a friend. :)
Just Got Paid, Cheap Sunglasses, Thunderbird, Gimme All Your Lovin', Jesus Just Left Chicago/Waiting for the Bus, Balinese, She's Just Killing Me, etc. They have so many great songs, from the 70's/80's/90's etc.
She don't love me. She loves my automobile. Mexican Blackbird it's only love man. You can't go wrong really I'm from Dallas we jammed on them all during the '70s but each of their own right can't like everything.
Tube Snake Boogie and Pearl Necklace for their fun, suggestive songs!
Yes. Yes, and yes. Texas Blues baby. Lol
Arrested for Driving While Blind
I’d add Tube Snake Boogie to that list.
Right on! I'm glad you gave them another chance.
Now as far as as suggestions, ' Tush', ' Pearl Necklace', ' Tube Snake Boogie', ' I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide' , ' I want to Thank You '. ✌️😉😎🎸🎵🇺🇸
Damn I miss the 80's. Couldn't go to High School in a better era. Not just the music the films were unforgetable.
All the songs above would make for great reactions!
I agree.
You got to check out all the songs above.

The 70s were a hundred times better than the 80s.
When asked if ZZ Top was playing Blues or Rock in an interview, Billy Gibbons reportedly answered: "Yeah."
They were "made" to go more mainstream in the 1980's and despite lots of the old fans not liking it, we are richer for it.
The newer stuff is a bit overengineered (for my taste), but still very nice, that is also why they are better live. They still tour.
Dusty Hill died in 2021, but even before his death he insisted they kept touring and Elwood Francis one of their guitar techs took over his part.
It is worth remembering that they only have three people playing. That full sould comes from three guys.
Yeah, I've never understood why people try to introduce someone to ZZ-Top with La Grange. Sure, its one of their best, if not the best, songs, but it's a song for those of us already loving and understanding what they were about. Not a song to show a 'newbie'. This is a much better 'introduction' song. ❤
La Grange always sounds better in a fast car, windows and engine wide open. Or live. It's a physical experience.
ZZ TOP is like Rush, the more you listen to there amazing musical gifts. The more they grow on you. R I.P Dusty and Neil
I'm still alive.
Southern rock - Jesus just left Chicago
I grew up in the 70's and 80's and I can appreciate the stellar musicianship but, try as I might, I just can't get into Rush.
@@jonahhex8178Rush is shoehorned into mainstream as some genius band, the reality is that their popularity is from nepotism. They had a couple of decent songs but overall they have a terrible vocalist and most songs are mid. Same thing with the band "Anthrax.". Most people can't name any Anthrax songs, but can name several Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth songs.. Yet somehow Anthrax is part of "the big 4.". There was a lot of corruption in the music industry before the internet, there still is but more people can get their music out now than before when music studios could block you from fame if they didn't like you personally.
@@Bmetalful no doubt that the Internet is a god send for entertainment in general. Music, comedy, short films, all kinds of good, highly original content out there that the powers that be wouldn't bother with. Or would actively crush.
Billy Gibbons is a legend. One of the best and most influential guitar players of all time
This is MTV ZZ Top, with the disco 4/4 flat beat and it's a 100% banger :)
Put this on in a club and everyone will dance.
I felt for Frank Beard being relegated to drum machine - but they already made their statement and this was easy money.
2 different eras of ZZ Top. LaGrange was put out in the early 1970s and Sharp Dressed was in the early 80s. Its great that your giving them a listen. And you can see how they progressed through the decade between the songs.
Mollyboy, you are right about the blues. Their roots are the Texas blues. Great job!
Once again I'm suggesting a real blues song by ZZ Top called "Blue Jean Blues".
Lol.... no one ever does that one.... or 2000 blues.....
Blue Jean Blues is the first ZZTop song i ever heard. It was at one four am morning in a diner with the first date i had with my future husband
I made him go over to the juke box and see who that was. Bought the album! Loved them( and him) ever since.@mikemclaughlin3306
"Sharp Dressed Man," "Gimme All Your Loving" and "Legs" were the three songs that jumped ZZ Top from rock/blues to mainstream. Even in the UK (where I was living when the songs came out) along with "TV Dinner" and "Rough Boy" and "Sleeping Bag".
ZZ top was the sheeeeit in the 80s. They had so many hits!
70's ZZ Top is much more "texas blues" mixed with rock. 80's ZZ Top had a much more 80's sound. 70's ZZ is amazing! As someone who turned 18 in 1989, I love both. Generally do 70's, but still have my OG vinyl copy of Eliminator! Great album. Helped make MTV and MTV brought ZZ into the 80's. Met these guys as a kid. My best friends dad's childhood/best friends. Spent a week camping, fishing, shooting and hearing them jam by the campfire. I was like 11... just a year before Eliminator dropped... I had NO idea who they were lol! Just my friends dads friends! Crazy how life works.
This was my first exposure to ZZ Top, and a hot rod '34 Ford and hot chicks made quite an impression on 12 year old me!
You might shocked to learn that those gorgeous women are the daughters of the bearded singers (two from one father, one from the other) ...
Nice! You will go back to La Grange eventually, & love it, oh yes you will😉
It's very different if you aren't used to it, but I agree it will likely grow on him if he comes back to it in a bit. It's a great song.
ZZ Top ruled MTV back in the day!
Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers- ❤❤❤
And only 3 guys.... lead bass and drums.....thanks for giving them a second chance ❤❤❤
Billy Gibbons is an insane blues guitarist. Saw them in concert about 10yrs ago I think it was and he got down with a number of crazy blues tunes. I first saw then in a small venue while visting my brother in Texas before ZZTop was still generally unknown outside the state and in all those year I never knew how much of a bluesman Billy really was.
I knew this was going to be more up your alley! I love La Grange but it’s not as digestible as most of their other work. Now go back and listen to Tush, Cheap Sunglasses or Pearl Necklace. And you’re right when you started saying Blues. They’re a Blues influenced Southern Rock band. La Grange doesn’t keep the groove going through out. Glad you did this! Keep up the honesty!
ZZ Top is one of those bands that is easy to take for granted. Like people were losing their shit for the White Stripes and The Black Keys, but they could have just as easily listened to the ZZ Top albums that came out the same years and been very impressed.
Cool man! Glad you're doing more!!! --- this was such an ERA...mid 80s ZZ Top basically ruled MTV and the radio with this album...great place to start!!!
Told you you’d like this one. ;) Billy Gibbons’ solo work on this and Gimme All Your Lovin’ is so tasteful. My favourite two songs of theirs, largely because of the solo work in them. So good.
This song brings me back to my childhood lol my mom would jam this song, over and over ... and over lol
Thank you for giving them another try you can not judge anyone by just one song, 😉 enjoy ❤️
Love the second chance. And you picked a good one. 👍💯
Just Got Paid, Live in Texas
DallasTx 🤘🏽😎
Get a few more of their songs in then go back and find the appreciation we all have for La Grange. It’ll hit differently now.
Saw ZZTOP headlining Donnington Monsters of Rock festival 1985....they had a car named after their Eliminator album. Donnington is a race track and they started the gig by having the car delivered to the track by helicopter,it drove around the track up onto the stage...then they jumped out the car and played the gig.....brilliant stuff.
I seen these guy's in concert on the Eliminator Tour when I was 14...summer of 1984
So did I! Although much older lol at 23. They were amazing!
@@darlanilsen879 Concerts and music today don't compare to 70's, 80's and early 90-'s. Everything is computerized...music was better when bands actually knew how to play an instrument and sing.
There's a fantastic documentary on Netflix about ZZ Top, worth watching to realise how long they have been around.
Personally, I appreciate you being honest about not liking one and loving the next. Not every song is for everyone. I don't love every song from my favorite groups but I do appreciate their skills and talents. I loved your reaction. Thanks.
I was 15 in 1979. The first song I heard from ZZTop was ''Cheap Sunglasses''. It
really put the hook in me. Love your reactions kiddo.
you might like their "Tube Snake Boogie"
Crazy to think this is an old school 3 piece band. dudes were super talented
Saw them live in concert, what a show!!! They sounded just as good live as on their recordings. Still have my ZZ TOP silver key chain.❤😂🎉
ZZ Top - Gotsa Get Paid 🔥 This one is a hip hop cover/sample. ZZ Top have a recording studio in Houston, Texas where other artists record at. the song DJ DMD [feat. Lil' Keke & Fat Pat] - 25 Lighters, was recorded there and ZZ Top were fans of the song so they covered it many years later
Yep, the 80s. It was a great decade. The culture we had was the best one.
Told you so!!!!! It’s just that Little Old Band from Tx just blues it up because that’s their roots!!! So says Austin Tx!!! 😎🍸
DallasTx agrees🤘🏽😎
Never apologize for not liking something. Music is an extremely personal experience. People should never criticize someone else's taste. Sometimes I dont understand how someone doesn't like a song I love, but I would not criticize. Again, personal taste. It's all good!!!!!
I worked night shift at a convenience store when this came out, I was around 18 or 19. The local rock station played an album at midnight, in the morning whomever guessed the name of the album got tickets to see ZZ Topp. Its the only thing I have ever won!! Great Show!!!
So happy you liked this song. Just FYI, this is part of a trilogy of music videos from their famous ELIMINATOR album. SHARP DRESS MAN is actually the 2nd part of the trilogy of videos. The trilogy from this album is :
1. Gimme all your Lovin'
2. Sharp Dressed Man
3. Legs
Their NEXT album, called AFTERBURNER, have another trilogy of videos that continue from the first 3, called:
1. Sleeping Bag
2. Rough Boy
3. Changes
I hope this helps you when choosing what order to watch their songs in. Keep smiling 👍🙂🇨🇦
This is a much better representation of their catalogue.
Nope....it is a better representation of what sold more.
This ua-cam.com/video/9W8d8YIsDkk/v-deo.html is pure ZZ top.
This album was one of the steps I took on the way to discovering Metallica and Slayer etc
I LOVE this song. "Cuff links. Stick pin. When I step out I'm gonna do you in." And the beat and the riffs and the bass and the drums and the dude coming in with the low voice. It's simply insane how good this song is.
I predict you'll like this better than LA Grange and if you do, you might revisit LA Grange but nbd if you don't. Even still, ZZTop isn't Metallica. Good for sure, but not AC/DC. ZZ is a toe tapper.
This and Legs … signature ZZ Top hits.
That was so popular at our high school dances...I saw them in concert in 91....an amazing show!!❤❤
My brother told me their concerts were the best live bands ever. Never got to make one myself. "Legs" should be the next ZZ Top song!
From this album Eliminator, and on, things changed with ZZ Top. This is when they went full pop and went digital. This album barely has any Dusty (bass) or Frank (drums) in it; nearly all their contributions were replaced by drum machines and bass/synth programming. More than anything, this is a project of Billy Gibbons, producer Bill Ham, and engineer Terry Manning. Up to this album, they were a pretty straight roadhouse blues band. This made them into an electronic blues rock band and they were never the same again; even using lots of prerecorded tracks (including vocals, yep) live from this point on.
It was the early 80’s when nuwave was making an impact. The synths and the drum machine was their foray into the next decade, but they kept the blues in it as the core. Great stuff.
Thank you for doing this song!! Loved the reaction. I knew that you would love it!!!
Def Leppard : Billy’s Got A Gun
YESSS!!! I knew you'd love this one! I LOVE ZZTop, for real!! And I may be wrong, but I'd almost classify ZZ as " Southern/Classic Rock." Next one should be " Gimme All Your Lovin' ". The vocals are great, the sound is impeccable!🎉🎉🎉
I think ZZ Top is always worth hearing & watching.
The fucking great 80 is Bro....my youth...my music...now im 58...still Listen to my music...❤😊
Pure Texas Boogie at its finest 🎸
One of the best three man bands of all time.
I was one of the commenters that said to give this video/song a listen and you'd like it. Turns out I was right and cheers to you for being open minded. It is crazy to me that some people will hear one song from an artist and make a judgement on all their music from that.
This is my favorite song by them. They were a vibe back in the day. Good old rock!
Early blues band turned rock / blues they did the $$$$$ game became legendary !!! RIP the bassist they still perform 😎🤟🍻
ZZ Top is the most pure blues/rock band you'll find. If you look that genre up, their picture is the definition. This song is dripping with Blues. It's awesome you picked that out. This song is played everywhere. Sports events, in between song sets, Target. You name it. A big thing with them is a simple rhythm to back the solos they put throughout the song. Straight rock beat with blues guitars going at the same time. Can't beat it.
The 1980's era of their music is what I remember the most. Eliminator and Afterburner are my favorite albums of theirs. Every time I hear Sharp Dressed Man I think of Jimmy Jam Garvin going to the ring for his matches.
Very pleased you took my advice! ZZ Top is at its core a blues rock band.? Eliminator was their commercial success. Saw them in Castle Donnington; loved them ever since. Legs is worth a spin and Cheap Sunglasses. And of course Gimme All your Lovin!
"gotsta get paid", "under pressure", and "just got paid" are the best!
One of my favorite bands I was lucky enough to see them 3x 8n the 80s they put on the best live show ❤
You cracked the code, mate. Openness, honesty and great skill in expressing yourself. A successful recipe.😊
Tush! Is one of their classic hits
When I was younger, the rhythm on this one was just everything ... it's a bit different now that I'm an old woman, but still great
An awesome cut. This is real 80's. Life was a party and everyone dressed up to hit the clubs.
Such a great blast from the past. We're here for ur truthful reaction/opinion, dont sweat it. Thanx so much, rock on, Peace
I saw them on this tour in Memphis. They had three trailers of stuff stolen before the show and still KILLED IT! Sammy Hagar opened up. 4 months later Sammy headlined in St. Louis on MTV. Great show.
I much prefer this one over La Grange too, I would never have introduced you to them with that song! I would have chosen this one or "Legs" Always stay honest, it's one of the things that keeps me coming back here! Fabulous reaction!
This was my "It's time to dress up and hit the clubs" music. The whole album was fire, and it was fun and carefree music which was simply perfect in the 80's!
One of the best road trip bands ever
"Gimme all your LOVIN'" by ZZ Top is a must react to.
I repeat ZZ Top “gots ta get paid” will blow your mind.
Legs was always my fav zz top song. This came out when I was 6 and I still remember my mom dancing around the living room to it lol😂❤
I’m SO happy for you!! Really glad you decided to give them another try. Both eras of their music are great. This is by far the more popular version of their music. But as an older fan, I started with their original stuff and I love them both 😎
Sure glad you did read your comments and gave ZZ another listen!
I've gotta say, I love it wheb you cover songs that give me goosebumps when i see you react to it. Once again, enjoy the ride !
This is a rock song with a blues edge ! I know because I'm from that era . Seen them 5 times in concert.
Who does not like this one, ZZ Top has so many styles. Legs is by far my fav!
Of all the rockers in history ZZ Top is jest smooth and cool
This was one of the radio hits
This channel is about Reactions. whether it good or bad does not matter. We are here to see your reactions nothing else. You entitled to not like something.
Keep up the amazing work. Love your channel Mollyboy 🤘🤘🤘
Its funny Rex Brown the bassist for Pantera has said he knew he wanted to be a musician the first time he heard La Grange. Its cool how one song can affect people in such different ways
ZZ Top grabbed a hold of the opportunity of making cool videos when MTV first debuted in the 80s.
Hey my young friend, ZZ TOP was huge during the 80s! a staple of Much Music videos! The car was known as"Eliminator" Great reaction video!!
As part of the "I want my MTV" first generation that grew up on seeing ZZ Top's videos, we had to kind of go backwards to know about La Grange, and their earlier stuff as well. Before video killed the radio star. Def a totally different sound. I knew you would like this one better, but I bet the older stuff will grow on you. Great reaction.
You're 100% spot on with your bluesy assessment. Well done.
Waitin on the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago, Give Me All Your Lovin, Rough Boy, Legs, Just Got Paid, Cheap Sunglasses, Thunderbird, Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers, TV Dinners, .... There are so many great ZZ Top songs, and so many different kind of grooves to their music, there's something there for everybody.
What I loved about being a teen of the 80s is we weren’t necessarily bound by genre. You could hear Poison, Prince, MJ, Mc Hammer, Rick Springfield, GNR, Madonna, Billy Idol, A tiny bit of Metallica(more so in the early 90s), ZZ Top, Peter Gabriel, Simply Red, Kiss, Stray Cats, Billy Ocean, Van Halen, Dire Straits……. On and on all on the same radio station. It didn’t really matter what the person looked like or the genre if the music was good the radio played it. Those of us who preferred rock tended to listen to stations that mostly played rock. On those stations you didn’t really get pop but there was still a wide variety of musicians with different sounds. On pop stations there was LOTS of crossover. A lot of rock and blues groups did make music that crossed over because it obviously gave them more popularity and if I had to guess their record labels strongly encouraged the crossover.
But I feel really lucky to have heard so much great music as it dropped in the 70s, 80s and into the 90s.
Glad you gave ZZ Top another listen
I fell in love with this band on a road trip. Late 70's? Early 80's? Dire straights, Elton John...
'Preciate you, MollyBoy! Stay true to you. Most of us are tuning in for honest, authentic reactions. I've left SO many channels, BIG channels, mind you, when it was clear to me they were faking a good review. Stay true, stay honest, and I'll stay with ya! btw, I KNEW you'd like this one 😏
