      Congratulations on the 890! It’s always fun watching other peoples videos and see how they build something up! I really enjoyed that bike but now I have sold it and built a 701 rally that I use it as an adventure bike, and a long, haul bike! The 890 is better on the highways for sure, but definitely prefer the 701 off-road!

    Randomly stumbled upon this video. I pick up my new adventure 790r on Tuesday.
    You name drop so many great parts. I just ordered the fuel cap eliminator from power cell and have a cart full on Rottweilers website. Holding off on that stuff until I get some miles on it.

    Check that foam air filter that came with the intake to make sure it’s thick enough to catch all dust. I’m hearing (from a friend who’s had this happen to him recently) about multiple engines out of commission due to this filter being too thin or the spaces being to large - either way, letting dust right through.
    I’m not trying to start a bashing here; I have no reason for that. Just look at the filter and see if you can’t see right through the material.
    Take care.

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  2 роки тому +1

      I make sure I oil my filter correctly and haven’t had any problems with anything sneaking past. I will keep an eye on it and thank you for letting me know. I think the key to this is using proper oil. I’ve use Rottweilers products since about the beginning I never have had an issue. I use the no toil biodegradable oil.

    I know this was two years ago but I just came across it and man, what an awesome build. Big thumbs up on that. I’m trying to locate a Rally 890 but the dealers who still have them still have the for a reason. Do you still own this one?

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  Рік тому +1

      I just recently sold this motorcycle that was a dream build! But a 701 rally adventure suited who I am much more than the 890. To be clear the 890 would be great for 55% on road and 45% off-road where the 701 is exactly opposite of that which fits me just a little bit better. I get a little bit longer range and much lighter, more nimble, and just better overall off-road for me! There really isn’t a bad choice between the two! I just couldn’t keep them both! Hope this helps! Cheers!

    Amazing build and video! I'm (very excitedly) about to pull the trigger on a Rottie intake system for my 890 R, just did the Arrow midpipe decat last weekend. It looks like you're running the stock silencer; did you also decat the bike?

      Thank you! I really love the Rottweiler intake system and I got a couple extra filters for it! The bike is so easy to service for filter changes! @HenryFromReclaimAI 2 роки тому +1

      @@TRCa51 Awesome, thanks! Yeah I did a change on my paper air filter after our last BDR ride and found dirt in the throttle bodies. That filter definitely doesn't seem to keep dust out of the engine, and for that reason alone I'm motivated to do it...plus the sound and power improvements aren't a bad incentive either. Even just taking the cat out and replacing it with the Arrow midpipe made the bike so much more badass sounding. I'm definitely gonna get this and install ASAP! Keep uploading :)

    Nice build brother! I've got the Akro exhaust, decat, and RR intake on my new 890 adventure r as well and considering adding the PCV however unsure about losing the cruise control feature. Did you install a power commander yet? If so what map are you running and would you say it makes sense on this bike? I did the whole 9 yards on my previous 690 and it was defenitly a game changer...

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  3 роки тому +1

      I have the full race map and the air fuel sensors for the auto tune and yes I did lose cruise control. For how I intend to use this bike it was a concern of mine. My 1290 has all of this done also I love the power and I also love the cruise control for long days on the road. I really hope they come up with a dongle or a workaround to get cruise control back. With my current tire and wheel set up I know I won’t be doing crazy miles on the blacktop. The 890 is set up as much a dirtbike as possible.

      I powder coat them the same day they come in!! Any local shops should be able to knock them out! The HDB guards work so well! I have them on 3 bikes! One of the bikes is my extreme enduro bike and they have hit the ground several times and protect and hold up better that the circa pro bends witch I consider a top choice!!

    Does this give it a nice sound? Kinda like putting a cold air intake on a car

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  3 роки тому

      It adds a tiny bit more sound but because the air box is under the seat on this one you don’t hear it like on the 1290! Hope this helps!

    What levers are those?

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  3 роки тому

      I got them off of EBay . They were very inexpensive and work great! Same brand I have on my 1290! Tighten up the bolts if you get them. Other than that they rock!
