I miss your videos. My growing zone in Maryland is the same as yours and I liked watching your videos so I could compare my results to yours. Yours is always better. I know life gets busy but I hope to see you soon.
I just happened on your video today, great!!! I collect heirloom tomato seed and sell them for a living. I have about 160+ tomatoes/ varieties in mmy garden yearly. I really loved the Dwarf Purple heart throb, it looks similar to berkeley tie dye pink but is a heart shape and is very productive with all the umami complex smokey flavors. Another of my favoirte is Daniel Buson, considered a black , but is the mahogany brown color with slightly green shoulders, has the smokey complex flavor and super productive, these plants are just constintly producing tomatoes. I have pulled close to 30 tomatoes off my vines since they First started ripening, and I still have a few on the plant.
Kelloggs Breakfast and Ananas Noir are favourites of mine as well! If you are looking for a tomato similar to Paul Robeson try Sokolades. I believe Adaptive Seeds sells it. Its a super early black tomato that is more productive for me than Paul Robeson. I'm also trying Black Krim this year and its loaded with large tomatoes but none ripe yet to try. I also agree with you on the blue cream berries. They are tasteless and crack super easy. I will never grow those again lol.
Ananas Noir is one of my very favorite tomatoes, they are soooo delicious and very pretty as well. Last year the squirrels found out how good they were and kept going after them.. This year we built a giant cage to protect them. Mwahahaha squirrels! No tomato for you!
I absolutely love your rating system!! It brought a smile to me every time you referred to it. And I like the graphic/visuals. Appreciated seeing growth habit and hearing about any issues you experienced. Most tomato tasting videos only show the ripened tomatoes cut up.
@@GroundedHavenHomestead It varies from year to year...It is not a big producer like some others but I always grow them because of the wonderful taste. A tomato that you may like that produces a lot for me is the Glacier...not a large tomato but taste good and produces all the way until frost.
Awesome! I planted Blush for the 1st time this year and the plant is one of the worst looking plants I have ever grown. :) Can't believe it is still growing and looked like it was going to die since the beginning. I am guessing that the plants just look that way because it is producing pretty good. As long as it produces, I can deal with the looks.
Lots of people say that heirloom seed stock can take a few years to adjust to your soil. Idk if you’re a seed saver, but maybe that’s why you had a better year!
I can recomand you from my lasts years experience the 🍅varietys Cherokee rose, Cherokee lime stripes, Carbon, Karma purple Multiflora, Ivas sweet white, Amana orange, Strawberry orange and Dwarf Uluru ochre. Constanze 💚
Love your reviews. We gave up growing new varieties. We started only growing heirloom varieties and choosing which grew the best for us. We have 8 heirloom tomatoes we save seed from and each year we grow 4 varieties and the next year 4 others. Our favorites are an heirloom german pink that reaches almost 2lbs and produces like crazy with mostly meat inside with little seeds. They make the best sauce and ketchup ever. Our second favowhrite is a striped heirloom indeterminate striped roma. Our 3rd is the Black Krim which has a smokey flavor and makes some awesome BBQ sauce or enchilada sauce. Since only growing from seeds we have saved the plants are well acclimated to our area and soil.
If you haven't tried it, try the Black Krim. I have had production similar to the Ananas Noire. Both of those produce well for me and will always be in my garden. A cherry that I truly enjoyed, both for taste and production, is the Principe Borghese (black prince)
I've heard great things about Black Krim, so that's going on my list for next year. I tried Princepe Borghese last year and wasn't really a fan 🤷♀️ maybe i'll have to give it another shot
Good feedback. I appreciate the information so I don’t waste a whole season finding out. I grew pineapple this year and it quickly jumped to my new favorite. Green giant is really meaty and flavorful. Very good production and most were about a pound. Black Krim was my previous favorite. Italian heirloom started out weak and branches out kind of jumbled and annoying but is almost like a large round paste tomato. I would have rated super sweet lower. I was really disappointed in those. Super productive but tasteless.
I grew Italian heirloom for the first time this year and found them to be great. Maybe a little less on flavor but the flavor was their on mine, they are like most of your paste varieties that have little flavor fresh but they are killer as a sauce. I grow about 160+ tomatoes each year, and have about 1500 varieties catagorized and over 7000 varieties inmy collection.
A few flavorful favorites of mine in last few years, Brandywine, Rutgers, Chefs Choice, Box Car Willie and Black Krim. I would like to try the Black Pineapple next year.
I grew them this year after Roots and Refuge raved about them and got a few, but all 3 of my plants died too. I really love the smoky flavor so I’ll have to give the pineapple ones you recommended a shot.
I've read somewhere that the blueish tomato lose their blue color with direct sunlight and shades actually helps to keep the blue color. But I'm not sure if this is true or not.
Thank you for sharing with us

I really enjoyed this video. Thank you!
One of my best tasting this year was Adelaide Festival - a Dwarf Tomato Project tomato. Red with green stripes on skin. Very sweet/meaty.

You have to try the Cherokee Purple tomato, great taste..it's my favorite tasting tomato of all the ones I've grown over the past 38 years.
I've grown it once - great flavor, but production wasn't great for me. Is it a good producer for you?

What was the dwarf uluru like? I was going to try them this year.
Really enjoyed this video. I think the comparison videos are my very favorite videos on UA-cam.

❤great review😊
love love love these type of videos!! LOL at your categories. So many varieties I hadn't heard of!
Loving this tier list 😆 this was also so helpful! A lot of these tomatoes are ones I’ve thought about getting, so I loved the insight!

Thanks for the recs!
Muy buenos resultados
Where did you guys go???
the same thing happened with me for paul robeson!! just out of nowhere wilted and died before it even started producing

Whew! I thought I was the only to get one or two tomatoes from some of my plants. I was feeling like a terrible gardener.
I've read somewhere that the blueish tomato lose their blue color with direct sunlight and shades actually helps to keep the blue color. But I'm not sure if this is true or not.
Where are you
what's going on?
hope life is okay.
