    The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2022 US Open saw Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz claiming his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek claiming her third Grand Slam title. The 2023 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 28 - September 10.       Without a doubt the greatest in singles doubles and mixed doubles. Also she set the bar for physical fitness which breeds mental toughness in a champion like Martina.A classy woman.

      Steffi is the greatest singles player of all time, narrowly ahead of Margaret Court.

    Martina is one of the most underappreciated master athletes ofnall sports. Tennis was blessed to have her. Her rivalry with the great Chris Evert has no equal.

      @@carrerau7138 Not a relevant question when the player in question has 60 more singles titles than her nearest GOAT competitor. A player who skipped numerous slams to help build up the nascent women’s tour. And who was playing against another top 5 all-time great throughout their primes, not just the B list of Mary-Joe or the statuesque Sabatini.

    Fantastic documentary of a great tennis champ w 9 Wimbledon singles titles! Such a courageous pioneer, role model for women, LGBTQ, tennis, athletics, womens sports, those wishing to get out an oppressive situation, speaking up and standing on ur own, go by ur own beliefs. U have meant a lot to us tennis players from the 80s. Thank u.

      @@carrerau7138 Yes, she finally spoke her mind, that’s what brave people do. After that BBC documentary from a few years back she was wavering…but the years since that documentary it’s become crystal clear that transwomen in female sports is denying biological females their hard won rights.
      She’s had to put up with the likes of Megan Rapinoe calling her “transphobic” for supporting females in females sports! An utterly absurd defamation of someone who’s entire professional life has involved fighting for women’s and minority rights.

    sidebar....Martina Navratilova won 167 singles titles....she won over 80 titles at the same event , and in 1987 is the last player men or female to win tennis triple crown the 1987 USO ....in 1993 Helena Sukova finalist 1993 USO singles final, won the ladies doubles and Mixed doubles ....Barbora Krejcikova 2021 won Roland Garros ladies singles , ladies doubles and semi finals in Mixed doubles .....look how rare that feat is...

    I have almost no doubt that Martina would have had a winning head to head against Serena. Serena's game was based on intimidation and martina did not get intimidated.

    It was ok but using Chris at the end seems a strange option. Why wouldn't you do a exit with Martina?
    Maybe she wasn't interested but surely they could have done something better, even a snippet of her old hall of fame speech would have been better.

      Well, Evert won 3 slams in a row with a wooden racket (USO82, AO82, FO83) while others transitioned to graphite, so she probably fancied her chances!

    Marion Bartoli is a better Tennis player than Martina Navratilova. Marion Bartoli won Wimbledon grass court grand slam in 2013. Martina never won.
