    Thank you for your tutorial.. I am an artist and I dabble in everything and just haven't found the right concept to combine all of my artwork into one thing to make a living it it yet.. But I just discovered about how these stop animations are created and honestly... I think this could be my calling.. This is literally art that combines so many different techniques, mediums, amd styles cause your not only make the dolls, but the sets, amd then the actual animation... So much detail and time, but so amazing to see the outcome of all the hard work... I am sure its extremely rewarding and so much fun to do..

    Thank you for your treasurable video. This one is such a good video in a way that it gave me ideas on how to make a stop motion puppet doll just with all those simple but good materials. I mean watching the making of any stop motion movie of any famous studio looks incredibly difficult and requiring a lot of different specific materials and equipment.

    Amazing work as always, Adeena! At 4:33 are you scraping the felt so it's easier to wrap around the contours of the face, or is there another reason?

    • @AdeenaGrubb
      @AdeenaGrubb  3 роки тому +5

      Thank you! I’m scraping the back of the felt to make it slightly thinner so it’s easier to wrap around and create wrinkles :)

    How did you make the mouth and eyelid pieces stay in place?

  • @americaurbano9794
    @americaurbano9794 Рік тому +2

    So the eyes just lie in the eye socket and when you move them with the pin they just stay in place with sole friction?

    Awesome work, im trying to make a puppet as well, what wood did you use and what are the names of the metal holders for the wire? and last but not least how do you blend the film (for example the nose) with the rest of the skin? thanks a lot in advance. gr. Thomas :)

    • @mywalterego9248
      @mywalterego9248 Рік тому

      You can get these metal hollow squares (and the ones a size smaller to fit in them) at any craft store but I suggest going to a home improvement store (like Home Depot) for thriftiness. Metal tubing is cheap and comes in all sizes depending on the puppet you're trying to make. Get Balsa wood while you're at the home improvement store, it's VERY easy to carve with a whittling knife and I think it may have been used for this puppet. It's light weight will also be less stress on the metal armature. Lastly, the technique to blend the nose is called "needlefelting" I think. I've never seen it used with felt fabric, only raw wool but I think it's a marvelous idea that I'll be using in the future. Without getting too longwinded I'll just say poke a needle to tease the felt "out" to meet what you're trying to blend, then poke the needle to push the felt "down" or "in" to make the fabrics join. This works with felts, wools, and lints. If you'd like to animate they brows and eyes just don't glue them down, instead using a tacky putty like an earthquake putty. The amount of technique this creator is sharing could actually cause a BOOM in the stop motion industry.

    Just wanted to suggest changing the title maybe since g*psy is a slur still used today in europe and to maybe use Romani instead.
