    This light is way smaller than I thought it would be, but I love being able to switch to regular double A battery in case I need to

    Just received the high cri variant last night. Ive become a nut for right angle small lights tbh. Started with the original high cri Manker E02 with thicker body and actual reflector rather than TIR. I loved the crap out of that light even for walks through the mohave at night alone. I wanted a AA sized version of that light which was never available and eventually i came across Armytek Wizards.
    Ive had every variant of and including duplicates of the Armytek wizards except for the dual colour variants. As someone that works with wiring and tons of colour codes the High CRI is invaluable for immediately being positive of the true colour i need to identify.
    This Acebeam H16 is my first Acebeam flashlight (been on a Wuben spree lately...) and in all seriousness, this is exactly the flashlight ive been waiting for someone to design so i can have the most function for size to complement my high cri XHP50 in my daily Wizard.
    H16 can utilize disposable batts the same as my wizard
    Both render colour in what feels like HD
    Both have magnetic tailcaps
    Both have great clips that work on all kinds of clothing
    The H16 is my backup because i live in the real world where things absolutely just come out of nowhere and a AA is such a ubiquitous battery that it just made perfect sense especially with disposable options.
    I want to say my only comment on the light is i have never experienced a beam patten light the H16 expect for something like a moon beam pen light 🤣 its so strange to have such a crisp "flood" hotspot it looks incredible though. The light emitted from mine makes everything look incredible.
    I dont miss running around in the 90s dropping incan lights hoping i didnt break the filament 🤣🤣🤣 or beating on a light rapidly hoping it would come on and light up what should be a tree and not a bear.

    As an IT professional I work in data centre and telecom rooms with poor lighting. I would definitely use a right angle flashlight with a magnetic base.

    Home run on this one. I wore it (same exact model) for a few hours yesterday evening/night doing work outside. It’s so lightweight with the headband that I forgot I had it on. Plenty of light. I prefer the 6500K (this model) for detail work in the garage and outside (excellent color rendition). For general nondetail use my other light with the 5000K is my preference (just pleasant/walk around the block then have a beer).

      I can't decide which color temperature to get i have both nw and cw lights. Everyone raves about high cri but i seem to just like cw better. I swear it's easier to see things. How often do i need things to be color accurate in the dark?

    Both AA tail switch & right angled flashlights are okey but magnetic 🧲 back is kinda useful when your car breaks down. So I think the H16 is more practical & useful for most situations.

    I'm becoming a fan of right angle lights after getting one a year ago. Now I'm looking for a light to keep in my car. A magnetic right angle light that can be turned into a headlamp seems like it will work well for that purpose. And being AA means I can use batteries that don't fail from the winter cold and are easily available at gas stations etc

    Recently started carrying a Wurkkos HD15r after years with tail switch light and still having trouble with muscle memory so the jury is out for me. If I didn't want the power bank capability of that light I could really see the value in down-sizing to an AA-size. Swapping cells is not unique to those more common sizes though. I have a bunch of other kit (including a USB-PD power bank) that work with 18650's. When I'm in the middle of something I much prefer the option to swap cells right away instead of waiting for charging.

    The H16 is smaller than I thought which I'm happy about. I wasn't able to buy the Sofirn HS05 & it got discontinued but luckily I now have the Acebeam H16. It's UI is okey too, I like it better than my Pokelit AA Titanium.

    Been subbed on the channel and you're my go to flashlight guy, maybe you can do a video on some small, low lumin, red flashlights? I'm active duty in the coast guard and looking for some lights for navigation at night for my navigators. I LOVE the thrunight BSS V5 with the red filter. .5 lumin with the red lens is perfect. But my guys say it's too big and they'd prefer something smaller. Suggestions? Looking for 5 lumins or less if at all possible.

    It won't charge from USB C to USB C cable because it doesn't support power delivery. The 65 watt charger you mention will attempt to negotiate a voltage with whatever device is plugged in. Most higher wattage chargers support 5v, 9v, 12v (with the notable exeption of Anker chargers, among others), 15v, 20v, and more recently 28v, 36v, and 48 v with the new power delivery 3.1 spec and compatible chargers.
    This battery will only accept a 5v input source utilizing a USB C to USB A cable, and does not negotiate with a power delivery capable charger.

    I'm always a bit torn when it comes to tiny ultra bright flashlights.
    The " turbo mode " is always impressive but never proves particularly useful, they don't run in that mode for very long if that output was useful, and they get pretty hot too.
    lights like this have lured me in a few times, but they never end up replacing my AAA pocket light.
    I gotta have a regular straight flashlight because it's what I'm used to and what works best with what I use my small EDC pocket flashlight for.

  • @XSR_RUGGER

    What does CRI mean? I think this would be great for my portable light for my kiddos. I have a Neebo Mycro that is very useful but if this is better I'd be all for switching up to this one for the price.

    • @allemander
      @allemander Рік тому +7

      CRI = Color Rendering Index.
      The higher the number, the closer to natural sunlight the color temperature of the beam will be and the better the light’s ability to illuminate the natural color of an object without washing out its true color.
