Pokelit gotta catch em all!
I originally purchased the i5R, thinking it would be awesome because it was an Olight. Then I came across the green pokelight for $19.99 with a $5 coupon. So, $14.99, and it is now my go-to small flashlight. I also hate that the Olight uses a proprietary 14500 and will only run on 250 lumens with any other 14500. The CRI is far superior on the Acebeam. You can use any 14500, even the Olights. It has mode memory, which the olight does not. It also has 3 modes I use the Olight at work because I don't care what happens to it. My only real complaint about the. acebeam, is that it uses batteries way quicker than the Olight.
I finally got one and i got it for $16. It went up shortly after. I lucked out. Thanks for the review.
I have multiples of each, i switch between the two for edc, I like both equally. They are secondary carry as I edc a warrior mini daily mostly and occasionally another 18650 size. Best feature of pokelit is the tint of beam for sure.
It's good to see you are still making UA-cam videos dude, I used to watch your stuff like 12 years ago and it's good to see that you still do it. You still make real UA-cam videos that don't have click bait and cringey edited photos.
thanks, I pride myself on that even though its hurt me very much over the years...
I love the Acebeam Pokelit-AA!! Great light for the price.
I love my copper pokelite, plan on buying all the colors as well
Great review.
Many thanks.
My copper one has a different beam pattern and the tail switch is smoother, but it is noticeably heavier than my aluminum one. The copper one has become my home table light, and the aluminum one is my edc. I stretched the tail switch spring a little to make it harder to activate, and carry it in my back pocket next to my wallet without the clip. Half of the color has worn off but it’s a tough little light. And being rechargeable, no more buying batteries.
I have the acebeam rider rx titanium. Awesome light. I love that it tailstands
Nice lights, I like the green one!
Good review, for simplicity I carry the streamlight microstream AAA. The only function is in or off, no modes to have to mess with, extremely durable a decent battery last a long time, around 4+ hours constant run time. I have used them for many years now and even dropped one out of the boat while it was on. Water was very murky and it took me 30 minutes to find it and it was still on.
They are OK, have had a few, never use them anymore as I have moved on, though I do keep a microstream usb on my motorcycle
Nice comparison. Going to give Acebeam a try. I would have liked to see you weigh the copper and aluminum to see how much more it weighs.
Great Video, as always. Coincidentally, I just had the Cu model dropped off this morning. Fun fact, and totally discovered by accident, the tail cap, on the pokelit, is reverse threaded. It totally comes off. Keep up the great content!
Hey Jeff, I just used your link to Amazon, and they had a deal going for @$16. Thanks for the heads up.
You’re going to love going gear this month 😂😂
Totally agree on prime shipping.
Those are good. I like the Reylight LANapple which is also 14500 and AA. It has a warm high cri Nichia 519a led and many different output options.
I have Reylight's Pineapple Mini as well as the Reylight made Vosteed Rook, both are very excellent options.
Jeff, Wish I saw this video last week! I lost my Olight i5R and bought another one, but I would have tried this instead for half the price!
I still do enjoy the i5R's though lol overall I find it has a little better runtime...wish they had warm white versions
Got one of these yesterday to replace my original thrunite Archer V1. Funny, the charging cord that came with mine was just black. Lol.
I like the copper, nice!
How does this flashlight compare to the Eagtec D25A (~$60) or D3A (~$80)?
I bought the copper Pokelit a few weeks ago to add to my copper edc and I love this light! Paid waaay more than $40 for it in Canada though.
Have to pay for all that "free" Healthcare and university

@@kydd666 because Canada never has any school shootings???
as an american id totally live in canada if i had too. wouldnt even need to adjust.
Would you be interested in trading something for two or three county comm usa made delrin battery lockers for cr123 batteries?
does it lock out ?
is it's clicky a forward one ?
I've got some 52mm long 14500's will they fit in the Pokelit?
That high CRI LED in the Acebeam alone makes it so much better than the standard Olight. I can't stand the standard cold, green LED a lot of companies use.
Can anyone tell me flashlight which has max. lumens 150, but runtime on high mode will min. 10 hours, and with 2 or 3 mode.
I will thankful if anyone give me a sign.
I will give the Pocalyptic a try 😎😎😎👍👍👍
The acebeam seems to be better in every way. Not sure what the runtime comparisons are. But a nice low, a better price and a way way nicer led tint. Thanks for the comparison I'll definitely look into them.
It's cheaper for a reason
@Ace King How so? It's no worse than Olight's runtimes.
@Ace King Well that is what the video is about and for comparison's sake it's something to compare with. So how is the runtime not good with the Pokelit?
@Ace King The Pokelit's output is 200 lumens more than the Olight's, so yeah, it's going to have reduced runtime on turbo, especially considering the high CRI LED in the Pokelit isn't as efficient as the cool white one in the Olight.
I have a Wurkkos TS10 and while it's a nice light, I wouldn't put much faith in it's reliability, nor in a lot of Sofirn's offerings. Not to mention the TS10's runtimes are probably even worse than the Pokelit's. Lumintop's reliability is spotty too in my experience and Thrunite is no better than Olight or Acebeam really.
@Ace King Have you contacted Acebeam? I'd be curious about what they have to say and how good their customer service is.
Been on CPF since the early 2000s when ARC AAA was the top of the line. Guess this flashlight thing wasn’t just a phase 😀
what's the O-ring for?
There is a flash sale on Amazon right now.
I've notice amazon is slower lately as well.
call them if you have prime they will give you a discount or refund for a month or 2...just stay on them about it and tell them your not getti9ng the service they offered even though your paying for it...
Great video man. The olight has a weird battery. It doesn’t work in normal 14500 lights. They only work in the plights. Don’t know why they did that. But love the acebeam. The acebeam is neutral with high cri so like them better than th olights. Olights have bad color temperature.
Olight fancies themselves as the Apple of the flashlight world, so everything is proprietary.
@@floyd2386 too bad they don’t care about cri and tint lol.
@@gammarayburst4763 They do have a high CRI i5R available, it's no Nichia, but for an Olight, it's pretty good.
Sadly in Olight's world, lumens and different colored bodies is what sells, not light quality.
@@floyd2386 I know they don’t focus on that yet they will eventually. I have been telling them for the last year to focus on it. That why they just started dropping colors.
@@gammarayburst4763 They probably won't, they really don't do a great job at listening to customers. I've been telling them that for years, they then pick out crappy high CRI emitters to do a limited run with them and when nobody buys them, they think they're right not to offer high CRI lights.
I hate the green tint so much... but I love the exterior Olight design! So conflicted 😭
Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 is better than both. Carry one everyday and it’s super tough and super bright
And now there is a Lumintop Tool 3.0
The Lumintop tool pocket clips are not great
Review some sure fire lights
The acebeam is pronounced the same way as" pokemon". Lol. They are both good lights. I currently have the acebeam in orange in my rotation as my edc.
I like it but the multiple modes are a no go for me. Call me old school but i like the simple on and off, like my personal favorite microstream
I'll stick to O-light.
Don't forget that the acebeam has a standard 3.7V battery, while olight needlessly put a proprietary 2.4V battery in theirs, and normal 3.7V don't work in the i5R. Olight is weird.
And that 2.4V Battery at 1420 mAh = 3.4 Wh. Whereas the 3.7V Acebeam at 920 mAh = 3.4 Wh. So the actual energy is the same for both batteries.
Don't get me started on how superior the tint and CRI on the acebeam is...
Not all products qualify for prime 2 day shipping.
Green is 16 bucks now
Just bought one
I already have the orange... guess I'm gonna have the green now, too. 😅
Just had an Amazon truck block my Forester in, so they are weekend delivering here at least.
I love Olight flashlights but they think because they are a big name brand they can overprice things for no reason.
12:30 I had the same experience all last year (2022). Got the refund. They are aware of it for sure.
What happened with thrunite?
Nothing happened with Thrunite I still enjoy testing and using their great flashlights you may have missed an older video where I talk about how those videos go onto their own channel now not mine..
@@cutlerylover Coincidentally that video popped up and I watched it right after posting this comment lol. My apologies and thank you for the clarification!
@@robertgalusic5873 haha no problem and no apologies necessary I know not everyone sees every single video in fact im not sure if anyone has seen EVERY one of my 6,000+ videos haha
I dont like greenish tint of i5r 😜
I dont like olight i5r because of greenish tint 👍🏼🤪
It’s 2023 so I can’t stand anything that’s not type C😢
The Olight battery is Type C.
The Acebeam battery is type C.
Onboard charging is for noobs n boobs that have no real chargers
Type c is a plus, but don't care myself, as mostly I charge my batteries in quality base chargers. In light charging is for emergency and I have plenty of charge cords of all types.
Your brain is not type C !!!
i get amazon shipping OVERNIGHT 4-8am, sameday 5-10pm, tomorrow, two day. very frequently....its insane. i am getting packages in like 10-12 hours maybe less...i dont know wtf you live. but im in cali.
Acebeam>Olight , cheaper , 3 modes, and best of all Acebeams won’t blow up in your pockets lmak
