Your van looked new after they buffed it up, very nice. Curt - great choice on the fish tacos! Each one looked like a meal in itself! Excited to see what's next! Stay safe, have fun.
Snow, I love that you two are pushing through all these changes and borders. I've been losing weight too and have had some slacker days. I need to get on the weight lose again before I slide backwards! So gonna tighten it up this week. Hope your Knees feel better because mine are doing lots better.

So you got the van all shiny and buffed but you do realize its going to be so dirty and dusty on the other end when you pick it up at the port? So all that shine and buff will be gone. Has it helped with your knees? Well be blessed on your next step to South America.
The buff out was mainly just to get rid of any little dings and scratched to help us fight rust. We have no doubt that the van will be filthy when we get it back in Colombia! The knee is too far gone for the weight loss to help with the pain, but it is going ot help with the recovery after surgery... which is planned for Colombia!

Just a thought. How about a permanent door so you can divide the driver side with the house side, then open the door anytime. Just an idea for more border and shipping crossing in the future.
Nope... Our drivers and passenger seats swivel around to become a big part of our living room. A permanent wall is something we definitely do not want in our van 😁
Overall Panama was a bit expensive, similar to Costa Rica, but the parking was outrageous and limited in the area we stayed. Also, we scouted the area first, and we research showed a few options, even free spots, but nothing worked out. This has been a very expensive move all around 😔.
Hey Guys. You were in Casco Viejo in Panama city. I was there a few years back. Great Place! See you also made it to Bocas? What a brilliant company you found to fix the van. Will you make it to the UK? If so, let me know. Sally UK
Am SO connected with you all! Thank you SO much for all you are sharing with this extraordinary crossing. We adopted 2 kids from Colombia 35 years ago and returned there 3 years ago. We LOVE Colombia. Cartagena is BEAUTIFUL! I’m wondering where in Colombia you are getting your knee replacement? We are the ones who spend Winter in Puerto Escondido and will be returning this year. Will be in Mexico for 5 months. Sending you both a big hug. Love you both and adore your kitties. Best of luck over this next period. Will be thinking of you lots…
I hope you guys have a great winter in Puerto! That place will always be special to us. We are so excited to explore Colombia! The knee surgery will either be Medellin or Cali... I am meeting with two different doctors and touring facilities before I make my final decision.
@@SnowAndCurt Good for you Snow! I had a knee replacement almost a year ago. It was VERY successful. My knee is rock solid now, better than any other joint in my body. First 3 weeks were a bit gnarly but to be expected. I hope you are planning on being out of the van for the first month or so at least, as there is a lot to negotiate. PT is ESSENTIAL for a good outcome. You can DO this, as you are strong and have a great attitude. I{lol be one of your biggest fans…
@@cathyplatin3906 renting an apartment for two months minimum... Three if needed! Focus will 100% be on PT! Happy to hear about your knee... I keep telling Curt that if just half of the pain goes away... I'll be happy!!
@@SnowAndCurt The pain will definitely go away. Each person is different but after 3 weeks, the pain was minimal and soon afterwards, it was rock solid! I will be supporting you all the way…
@@cathyplatin3906 I’m so glad to hear about your positive outcome with your knee replacement. It’s very reassuring to hear from someone who has been through it and your really wonderful outcome. I’m in the first stages of getting ready for the surgery here in Australia, I just can’t take the pain any longer. So I’m on an intensive pre-surgery physiotherapy program to strengthen all of the necessary muscles, lose weight, tone up, and generally get a lot fitter. As my knee (and spine) have got worse over the past few years, my overall fitness and weigh gain has just caused me a world of hurt, and I’m really trying very hard to get myself physically and mentally ready for this surgery. I’ve had several spinal surgeries in the past 5 years and that has really messed my life up, but I’m hoping that the knee replacement will put me on the road to recovery too. And good luck to you too Snow, I will be following your progress along closely. Big hugs from Australia 🇦🇺
Hello have u seen that security system which comes with a camera and alert system which u can watch from yr phone maybe that would make yr travel easier on u ? Simplysafe
Nope... they did not! Mainly I think they knew they were in their van and were confused why we would not let them out! Keep your fingers crossed that they handle the flight to colombia ok!
Curt, forget Columbia, Kīlauea is erupting! There's a 1-stop flight out of Tocumen Intl. that leaves at 6:35pm that will get you into Oahu at 10:50 am. Hurry!
It won't take long down here! But, something we forgot to mention in the video... All cars must be clean... So everyone has to wash their cars to get them shipped! 😊
Over 4000$ ? I was going to ship out to Panama tired of waiting for land borders down here to open 2 weeks ago I got a quote to Panama from Cartagena for 2400$US plus 300$ to the agent in Panama. I am also in Colombia now waiting on Ecuador’s land border to open. I’ve been here waiting 6 months. Forget what you’ve heard about Colombia it has nothing but very friendly people in it. I had my motor home shipped into Cartagena but do yourself a favor get out of there as fast as you can.
Nope... When we beefed up the suspension... We think we ended up about 1/2" too tall. And that would be with taking the attic off and having small metal "container wheels" built. There's also an issue with how long we are. Here in Panama, most agents put your van in the container at their shipping yard and then drive the container to the port. So, the container is already on the semi when they load you because they don't have cranes in their yards. Yo load you, they put you on a flatbed wrecker... We are too long to fit on the wreckers that the agents have here in Panama (at least the ones we could find). We will likely revisit this option when it's time to ship from South America to Africa.
@@SnowAndCurt Please be resourceful in Africa it is heating up and not safe at all people are fleeing, the government is taking their land and not compensating them for it, people are desperate.
I realize it's a fluid situation and things can change but I noticed on your map the route along the Gulf of Guinea. I believe I saw where the "pirates" had shifted west to their from Somalia.
FYI - I could not access either your facebook or instagram account to see what you are doing ???? I clicked on the link and I also tried copy and pasting the link - neither way worked :(

I saw a similar security build of another van lifer when they shipped from Argentina to the US. They installed internal locks on the back door and external of course on the side. I'll be praying all goes well. At least your crossing will only be a couple weeks at most. There's took months. I love Gee's voice, but I'm sorry he wasn't happy in the carrier. Hope they get/got to be with you during the flight and not down in the cargo hold.😳❤️
Yes, Panama is very strict. It was uncommon to see someone in public without a mask unless they were exercising. We always do our best to comply with country guidelines.🍻

Simplysafe
No connection on the ship down in the hull. And... Must power down the van... No power in the van once you drop it at customs. 😒
@@SnowAndCurt interesting hope all goes well for u both
Gee those fish tacos looked amazing, did they taste as good as they looked?
Yes they did!!
If you are coming to Ecuador...I invite you to come visit my farm in the Southern part of the country near the town of Vilcabamba.
Amazing offer!!! We will be in Ecuador next spring... stay in touch as we get closer!
the kitties were like i do not like this crate thing
Nope... they did not! Mainly I think they knew they were in their van and were confused why we would not let them out! Keep your fingers crossed that they handle the flight to colombia ok!
It's all going to go just fine praying 🙏
Thanks Brian!
Curt, forget Columbia, Kīlauea is erupting! There's a 1-stop flight out of Tocumen Intl. that leaves at 6:35pm that will get you into Oahu at 10:50 am. Hurry!
Curt is forbidden from reading this post!!! Lol 😂😂😂😂
For safety reasons you might let a little dirt build up on that brand-new looking van!
It won't take long down here! But, something we forgot to mention in the video... All cars must be clean... So everyone has to wash their cars to get them shipped! 😊
@@SnowAndCurt oh, interesting.
Splendid
Good video guys!
Thanks Bill
I am getting nervous along with you both. Snow, you have lost so much weight. Any possibility to avoid the surgery?
Say pray for all the best.
Nope... Knee too far gone. But it's ok .. counting down the days until surgery!!
Snow what's the name of the locks you guys purchased for shipping your van?
Thanks and stay safe and healthy.
He's awesome
The whole family is just amazing!!
Safe travling ❤🙏
THANKS
Over 4000$ ? I was going to ship out to Panama tired of waiting for land borders down here to open 2 weeks ago I got a quote to Panama from Cartagena for 2400$US plus 300$ to the agent in Panama. I am also in Colombia now waiting on Ecuador’s land border to open. I’ve been here waiting 6 months. Forget what you’ve heard about Colombia it has nothing but very friendly people in it. I had my motor home shipped into Cartagena but do yourself a favor get out of there as fast as you can.
A terrible fire destroyed over 200 homes and businesses last Saturday on Island of Guanaja Honduras. Did you visit there?
That is terrible... we did not visit there.
Snow, I ❤️ your mask.
😊😊😊 I figure if we gotta where then, they nights as well be fun!
If they have the keys, What is to stop someone from entering the side or rear doors?
Pull the fuse for the door locks... Extra locks on the doors... No manual key entry on side or r are doors of our sprinter 🤞🤞🤞
So the van didn’t fit in a shipping container like many UA-camrs do?
How about the side and back doors. Will you be blocking those off as well.
I think they said they have exterior locks for those doors.
Yep... Exterior locks!
Oh.. humidity.. Did you guys put “Damp Rid” inside the van?
We have tried it in the past... but nothing works better than blasting either the heater or the AC for 20-30 minutes to dry the van right up!
Crazy adventure .. what are you anticipating for stress and cost levels for the big move to South Africa?
We plan on it being way more stressful... It's a 3-4 week shipping route 😳 but, we will deal with that when it gets closer.
I clicked on the link and I also tried copy and pasting the link - neither way worked :(
THANKS... we will check it out when we get to our laptop.
It worked for us.... try this link. If that does not work, just search "snow and curt" on insta and you should find us. CHEERS!

Why are you not putting in a containers? Will it not fit ?
Don't fit
What happened to Snow's scheduled knee replacement surgery? I know she was dieting for it. I'm confused now with them going to South America.
Knee surgery is planned for Colombia!
This guy could set up a network of Overlander Embassy shops in other places! Just imagine!
I think he could too... He's young and ambitious... So it would not surprise us at all!
No cargo for the kitties... They will be with us! We will have extra locks!
Did your cats have to stay in the van by themselves during this process?
Nope! They were with us in our Airbnb 😻😻

Hi from malaysia🥰
Good morning!!
Another from Malaysia. You guys should come here!
Did you have to wear masks outside??
Yes, Panama is very strict. It was uncommon to see someone in public without a mask unless they were exercising. We always do our best to comply with country guidelines.🍻
