I would like to see this for the standard versions. For example a stainless Black Bay or more typical Omega Seamasters. I enjoyed this oddity less common list, but would like to see common versions.
Let’s be frank. Only the brands from Omega and below are normal. With the exception of very unique collectible that are produced in small quantities and which may hold certain sentimental value (such as autographs, rare paintings, Paul Newman’s own Daytona etc), second hands good aren’t supposed to appreciate in value. Rolexes are at the end of the day, mass produced things are largely come out of the same mold.
I did sell the Tudor Pelagos, less then a year old with 25 % discount. Then bought a new submariner in AD and hope to keep the retail price forewer. But I dont care about resale value. Most of the time Omega is my go to watch.
Always enjoy your analysis, the 1Y Delta is interesting, have you done any ML to determine what other attributes related to case dimensions or complications are driving those increases?
The practice of offering discounts off of retail price is inconsistent across retailers/products/brands/locations and so we rely on the retail price itself only.
Only Rolex, AP and the occasional Omega hold any kind of value…if you own any of the rest you better not need to sell…Tudor surprisingly not holding well at all considering the value.
The Aqua Terra was excluded for lacking a dive bezel and maxing out at 150m of water resistance, and the steel Sub was excluded as it's the most basic dive watch from Rolex. This video was intended to focus on higher end dive watches where the feature set is overkill.
No point putting fantasy retail prices in there - if you can't buy a Rolex at retail then it doesn't count. It's complete BS. The grey market price IS the price.
The idea of watch as investment is long gone this is good to encourage us to buy preowned and save the headache i got fifty fathoms chrono for less than 9k almost new no regrets

Very interesting. Sometimes MSRP can be avoided. I purchased a new GO SeaQ Pano on a bracelet from an AD for $9,400.00.
I was wondering if retail price includes discounts that some brands offer and others don't which will has an impact on depreciation value.

Would be nice to have seen how Panerai would do
Buy depriciated and youll basically never lose money.
Thought provoking vid. Tanks! BUT, the comparisons are not valid. You should be more consistent with your selections?

Tudor is not good at all
Interesting information but mentioning value changes to one decimal point doesn't make sense, that's parsing the data way too fine to be relevant.
Thanks for the feedback!
where is the sub, Seamaster Aqua terra?

Rolex is king. Always has been and always will be.

It’s really not that hard
