After having featured on an album track by British electronic music duo Pet Shop Boys, the label they were signed to [Parlophone] showed interest in signing Kylie. Apart from her ongoing contract with Mushroom Records in Australia, Kylie was without a record label, and her future was uncertain following the lacklustre response to Impossible Princess in the UK. This is the golden era. So good it couldn't last.
Apparently her gold hot pants where bought from a second hand market for around 50p. They such iconic is this video and start of Kylie reinventing herself. When this came out I was overjoyed that the "princess of pop" was back at good at what she was doing

When you eventually get to with this album lights years the song "your disco needs you" was originally planned as the leading single to the album but her record label parlophone thought it was too camp and gay. The song "your disco needs you" never got released as a single in the Uk and was total uproar about it. It was eventually released in Germany and Australia after the uproar.
Loving your Kylie journey! This is one of my all time fav Kylie tracks & vids! Those hot pants were bought at a flee market in London by one of Kylie's best friends for 50p (UK pence, about 95c Australian). Kylie had worn them at a friend's party previously & then her stylist William Baker saw them the night before this vid was being shot. He waa the one that thought they'd be perfect for the vid & actually convinced Kylie to wear them. They're rumoured to be worth $10million AUD! Absurd & obviously I doubt it, but who knows! They're kept & well looked after at The Arts Centre in Melbourne, Kylie's home town.
Can't wait for the Sia / Kylie track either!!! They've worked together before when Sia made her debut as an executive producer as one of the producers of Kylie's 2014 album, Kiss Me Once. She wrote the track Sexercise. What until you get to that vid!!!
