Just made another blue solar light. This one is for my sister in law. She loves blue. Thanks again 😊

So cute 😍 Thank you for talking through and not playing some crazy music! New Subscriber 👍🏽
Thank you so much.
That was very clever and turned out great .
Absolutely georgious. I will make this.
You could also melt a hole in the bowl with a soldering iron that the light will fit in without falling through. Hope this is helpful
I saw a woman using one that had a blade somehow fixed on end. Worked well.
Duh! I just noticed she has one too. Oooops once again I spoke before paying attention.
Much more beautiful than I could have imagined !!!!
Thank you so much.
Absolutely adorable. Easy too. Gotta love dollar stores. I just might have to make some for grannies patio 👍👍💖
Good job
Made 4 my self and one 4 my neighbor

Wanted to tell you. I just finished this solar lamp. Sooooooo pretty. Had to go out of town to find the paint, is a beautiful color. The cap, I practiced and practiced till I mastered the woodburning tool. I was so happy with this I was out taking pictures from day light till after dark. Sending to friends. Your tutorial was great to follow, Thank You for Sharing this. Oh, I bought the items again just in case I need to make another. I feel I will need to by some more 😀
I am so glad it came out so well for you. I absolutely love mine as well.
I've seen alot of these outdoor diy solar hanging lights and THIS one I really like! Doesn't look cheap or gaudy! I'd buy this one and more in different colors! Good job, Thanks!
Thanks so much, I love the way it looks hanging, and may well do more next spring to hang around our fence.
Cool idea!
Thank you. :-)
Super cool! I will try this.
This Dollar Tree sounds like a great place!!
I enjoyed watching this video, thank you! Deanne x
I like this idea. I think I’d like the wire frame spray painted white though
Beautiful
Very pretty.
Love it can't wait to try it
Wow! I didn’t see that turning out so well! New subscriber here. Thanks for sharing your awesome ideas! Looking forward to what else you will come up with.
GREAT JOB! YOU ARE VERY SMART! THANKS
Another comment:) My sisters is still shining brightly after all this time. The solar light in mine died. So I was able to pop it out and then decided to take my wood burning tool and make a hole just large enough to slide another in, can not tell the difference. Looks so pretty in the yard :)
Absolutely beautiful 😍
Cute idea.
very pretty!
Very cute!
Thank you! 😊
Wow 😲 you did great job 👍👍
Thank you :-)
I like the way you finished off the end cap. That was a genius solution. That clumpy dried glue would have been an issue for me. 💙⭐️💙
It would have been for me too, even though it is hanging over my head. I still would have known. LOL
Great ideas ! Loving your videos so much I've become a fan and a subscriber! Keep posting!!
This is absolutely beautiful, I just love this!! You have a new subbie!! Looking forward to more DIY’s!!
Thanks for subscribing! I am working on getting more videos out now.
Love it!!
Love this project!!! The topper looks great and gives a finished look, but it blocks the sun unless it's directly overhead. I am thinking I might glue some small glass stones on top to decorate the crown to hide glue. But since those lights don't always last that long (some do), I think I may just put a hole in the bowl big enough to hold the light... less glue and the light can be replaced. I cannot wait to try this.
I love that ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Use a hole saw the size of the OD of the solar light. Then glue the top edge of the light flush with the hole in the bowl. The way it is glued now its restricting light penetration. Also paint the top cap you make the same color as the bowl for more light.
did anyone else have the optical illusion effect of the bowl being concave or convex, it kept changing for me.
yes i sure did lol
MD Bober It depends on what you’re smoking! No really it was changing but what am I smoking
yes
...I see things that way , frequently ..
Yes, it messed me up a couple of times. I’m going to have to watch this several times to “get it” in perspective, if I’m going to be making it. Thanks for the tip on the sea glass by Martha Stewart, never knew this existed.
If you would have used the metal ring around the solar light you would be able to replace the light when it burns out, which happens pretty often with these cheap lights. really enjoyed the video and will be able to use this on a wind chime I am making
You really should have sprayed with a polyurethane clear coat finish. Paint will come off. But what a great idea!
Enjoyed your tutorial and I just subscribed ‼️✝️🙏🏼❤️👏🏼👋🏼
Thanks for subscribing! I am working on getting more videos out now.
wonderful and so attractive at night!
Thanks, we really like it.
I love this idea hi sweetie Gbu I wish you can make more ideas for outside
Thank you, I will
WOW, who would have thought :) I like it with the black cap, I couldn't do as well as you, but gives a finished look. I love love the blue, soooooo pretty. Great tutorial.. Thanks for sharing :) Subscribed
Thanks, I thought the cap made all the difference in the world. :-)
I just bought everything to make this light. So beautiful. I hope the blue that I was able to get is as pretty as yours.
I hope so too, I love blue in the garden. It adds a beautiful unexpected pop of color.
What a beautiful, classy-looking idea!! I loved it so much I even sent it to my sister and she loves blue and I know she’s going to do this and get a little granddaughters to help her because she has three areas she’s going to want to hang these. Very impressive idea❣️ BERY CLEVER HOW YOU FIXED THE “BLACK DOME”
Looks great! New subscriber
Thanks for subscribing! So glad you like my channel.
Cute :)
cute
It came out very nice, I would like to know what sealer do you put over the paint, my sprinkler would wash the paint away
Nice. Could you have it right side up, put a plant in it with some sort of liner and hang it?
Thank you new subscriber
My daughter in law had a 4 bulb chandilier and I took the heads from the solar lights and made her a hanging solar light. It looks awesome. She has it hanging on her shepards hook in her yard.
I have seen those before. They are really cool. :-)
Great idea 👍🏼 Paint using a spray can paint made for plastic items unless you’d like the total $1.00 tree items.
Otherwise great idea and make them all colors...pretty 💫
Very nice video i have make 3 of them couldn't get my light a loose but no problem thank looking forward to some more of your videos 😅😅😅
....ooooooorrr you can just leave it clear! 😁😁😁😁 Great idea tho!
I would have glued some blue glass beads on it
It will be a perfect ending of the video, to see them at night. Just a hint👏
Did the paint have to dry in between each coat ?
I have looked for that paints and they don't carry it no more what kind of paint can I use that has that effect because I love that color
You could use sea glass spray paint. It is available in several colors.
Is the solar light able to recharge through the bowl and with the champagne glass constricting the sunlight from getting to it? I think this is absolutely beautiful and does not look like it was made using Dollar Tree supplies. Your paint choice makes it perfect. I need to find that paint and then I am going to try and make one. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yes, it recharges just fine through the champagne glass. I absolutely love it and may be making more for the garden this year. :-)
Thanks Sarah!
Does anyone know how long these dollar tree solar lights work ?
Just wondering if it is worth the work to make a lamp using them .
This one lasted 2 years for me.
Iv had some 2-3 yrs plus mine r out all through winter also
How does the solar battery recharge, if covered?
The light lasted for several hours each night. The solar panel itself was only covered by clear plastic as I was careful not to put any paint or glue over the panel portion of the solar light. It was on just as long as the unaltered DT lights I placed around our home. As a matter of fact, it kept working for months longer than the ones directly exposed to the weather.
This is creative and frugal which I like. However, how would you easily replace the solar light when it dies (because they rarely last long) if you permanently glued it to the bowl? Wouldn’t that mean you have to discard the entire thing and have repurchase a whole other bowl and hanging basket and have to repaint it all over again which would be a waste of time and money and energy having to reinvent the wheel/project from scratch all over again? Would hot gluing the solar light work better because it could be easier to remove and replace with a new one or would it not stay in and just fall off? If that is true, then wouldn’t the bowl fall off of the hanging basket frame as well? These are the things running through my mind wondering if this could be problematic. I hope I am not discouraging you; I am just trying to foresee and prevent problems down the road. But I admire your creativity. It is inspiring to me and helps me with solving something similar I wanted to create. I hope this encourages you.
I only glued the outer rim to the light and the light itself is easily removed
Where did you get your paint can't get it at Walmart I guess maybe the craft store
I picked mine up at Michael's.
You can actually take a mason jar lid the inside of the lid, the little flat thing you can glue it right on top of that middle part and actually glue a brooch in the center of it. I took glitter on top of the flat part, and then I put a beautiful brooch on the center of it… also gorilla glue now makes glue for a glue gun. Be careful because it holds insane when you put that with the E 3000 I think that’s the name of that glue anyway, it’s insane. Make sure you put it exactly where you want it because it will pull the paint off if you end up pulling it off and you have to pull it kind of hard because it does take that much
What happens when the battery wears out .

Just show how it’s done, and keep quiet. Thank you!
Very good idea. However, one little suggestion if I may: the demonstration could have been shorter, and possibly more effective (in my view) with less attention to detail and, therefore more to the point.
It's cute but your top cap will fill with water when it rains. You need drain holes or leave gaps in the glue.
Actually, the gluing down of the top cap did not completely clog up the cuts for the wires, as they were wider at the bottom so there has never been any water in the cap. This has been hanging for over a year now with no issues, although the light is dimming and I will have to replace that soon. This has held up amazingly well.
Now I hate the word"Aaand"... 😞😩😩
Too much trouble
