I've read the stand, 11/22/63, Mr mercedes and I'm currently reading under the dome. I started with the stand. It was the first book I have read as an adult (sad since I'm 34)😅😅

Never too late to start back into reading. I work at a bookstore and people always say this, and I tell them you just have to find what you like and you'll become a reader

I just finished 11/22/63 and it was absolutely incredible! Technically, it was my first book I've read entirely since college and it was also my first time reading the work of Stephen King. Now, coincidentally, I feel the need to read more, especially after watching your videos and seeing your enthusiasm and interest in reading. Also, ironically enough, while at one of my local thrift stores looking for my next book to read, I found a copy of Duma Key and became very interested because it was a Stephen King book I had never heard or seen before. I apologize for this long-winded comment, but the moral of the story is "books are sick," and I'm diving into Duma Key!!

Christine is a fabulous book. Very vivid characters, locales, and an awesome soundtrack! Yes, I said soundtrack to a book haha. Will probably make more sense as you read it. I recommend listening to the songs mentioned in the book

I've been an on and off reader my whole life, but this year as I turn 29 I'm commiting to two books a month. One of my goals is to FINALLY get into Stephen King, a massive blind spot. I'm currently reading Skeleton Crew.

I'm reading King in order. On The Shining now (5th reread), he just hits all those notes for me. Keeps the tension strong throughout his stories.

Hi! So stoked to see a fellow Canadian and Stephen King fan start a reading journey - love your show so far. I've read a lot of his stuff but will be filling in gaps soon of stuff I missed like The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. He has sooooo many books.

Great video! I found your channel by accident a couple weeks ago and have loved watching your videos. Stephen King is my all time favorite writer. I first got into him in '92 when I was in middle school and since then I've been able to read every novel he's ever published. I love his books. Obviously it's subjective, so who knows what you'll think of them, but I'm excited to see what you think of these. I adore The Green Mile and Talisman. Duma Key too. Insomnia is a massive book. Has a little bit of a Dark Tower tie in, fyi. And if you read Black House, that has a pretty big tie-in. From a Buick 8 is actually my least favorite book by King.... But I read it when it first came out and have considered giving it another chance one of these days. Enjoy these books! Lots of good stuff!

Consider adding Hearts In Atlantis to your Stephen King reading list. A short story collection with recurring characters. I still think of these characters often - and I read it years ago!

I just finished The Talisman and also have Duma Key to read this year. Other Stephen King books I own and hope to read this year are 11/22/63, The Wind through the Keyhole, The Institute, and Mr. Mercedes.

I’m a big Stephen King fan. I haven’t read everything but so far I’ve given five stars to all of what I’ve read. Buick 8 though… eh, I dunno, there were several moments where I had to check the cover to remind myself it really was written by King. I gave it three stars because it’s certainly not terrible, just not great like what I’m used to from him. Desperation was my introduction to King and The Stand remains not only my favorite King, but one of my most favorite books of all time. Enjoy your journey! ❤️

I have just started reading Stephen King. I read On Writing at the tail end of 2023 and started this year with Carrie and finished The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon this week. I enjoyed both! Seemed reasonable to start with some shorter ones before taking on the bigger books but I'm excited to get into it.

Insomnia is super good. I read it in early 2023. It took me a while to really get into it and took me over a month to read, but its quite interesting and I really enjoyed the characters.

Christine was my introduction to Stephen King in the 80’s. Been a constant reader ever since. He once said that if he got them young, he’d have them forever. (I am paraphrasing). True. I was 12 back them and still love him.
I love to see your enthusiasm while you’re discovering 😊

I hope you enjoy The Talisman more than I did! (I just thought it was okay, I didn't think it was bad by any means).
Bag of Bones is one of my favorites. I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by King himself and there was a bonus interview of him at the end which brought a lot of fantastic insights to the novel.
I gotta reread Insomnia and From a Buick 8. Read them in high school over a decade ago and adored both.

I'm doing a King project this year too. I've read quite a few but I've missed quite few as well. Here's my list:
    11/22/63
    The Shining
    Billy Summers
    Gerald's Game
    Lisey's Story
    *Joyland
The Stand gaphic novel (I've read the novel a couple of times.)
The Colorado Kid (Audiobook I got on a whim from my local library. I'm abt halfway thru.)
I have the same HB edition of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon but I've misplaced it. I'll read it if i can find it. Yeah, It's short! I might do the Bill Hodges trilogy too. We'll see...
*EDIT: Got the title wrong. It's called JOYLAND. It's a Hardcase book.

I've wanted to read more King this year, but with so many titles to choose from it's hard to know where to start. I started with The Shining in 2021, and have since read Pet Sematary, The Long Walk, Cujo, The Outsider and Black House. Maybe I'll try a few of these titles as well! I'd read The Stand, but I already have a couple of chonkers planned for this year, so I'd rather start with some shorter ones instead. As for The Talisman; I've read Black House without reading The Talisman first, which worked out fine, but now when I look at the synopsis for The Talisman it feels more fantasy to me than horror, and it sort of puts me off reading it 😮‍💨 even though I like fantasy. It just feels sort of disconnected with Black House, I guess. But many people have said they loved it, so maybe I just need to get over myself, like you and Duma Key, and start reading.

Christine is great, but I feel its a little overlooked in that the car gets all the credit, but the characters involved are the strong point.

The Girl who loved Tom Gordon 🤣 walkies with mum and brother, walks off the path, lost in wilderness, battery runs out on radio listens to a baseball game, animal in the woods, finds exit trail, gets back home…the end. Save yourself a few hours. What was King thinking of? Just read Elevation and there’s another nothing novel for a quick $$$… we all float away! Love your channel and videos, great find for me! Superb

I'm reading SK chronologically and I'm about to start Insomnia soon. I'd have to say Christine might be the most surprising read for me so far because the character work was so good. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Talisman, wanted to like it but it just never happened. But that's what is great about King, everyone is different. I don't have It or Pet Semetary in my Top 10 but enjoyed Tommyknockers (read it as a B movie) which many hate. Enjoy the experience!
