    There’s been more and more women dealing with hair loss lately.. I hope scientists would find a permanent and not too invasive solution for it. It’s affecting very young girls and boys.

    I had 3 of these treatments. I had a young resident who had received training as a sidebar to her residency because she wanted to open a Medispa at some point after her residency concluded. She asked that I cover her cost for materials which was about $250 in exchange for perfecting her skill by “practicing” on me. The results were amazing and I was given a great deal of hope for my hair loss situation. She completed residency and left the area...thus, I never received any maintenance injections. As seems to be the usual when it comes to this type of procedure or with cosmetic injectable....it’s only affordable for the wealthy. The “retail” cost of this procedure is unsustainable for a middle to lower income person.

    Im 35 years old but for years I’ve been silently struggling with hair loss. It’s terrifying and depressing. There are days when I don’t even want to get out of bed because I don’t want to have to look in the mirror. There are days when I don’t leave the house because I don’t want to have to brush my hair. I have had panic attacks in the shower when I wash my hair and I see so many strands just washing out in my hands.
    I’ve had my thyroid checked. I’ve tried vitamins, apple cider vinegar, onion juice, used every birthday wish, and even begged to God. I’ve had in iron levels checked. I started eating more red meat.
    There are hair treatments out there to grow back hair but they are so expensive. Laser therapy, plasma injections, hair transplants, and even just buying supplements can get expensive. I need help. I realize that stress is also not good for growing hair but I’m getting desperate.
    I only wear my hair up now. My friends and people at work always say, “I’ve never seen you with your hair down. You should wear your hair down.” If only I could. They don’t know that I do want to wear my hair down so bad but I can’t. It’s embarrassing. I don’t feel pretty and I don’t feel feminine anymore.
    I don’t have any social media and this is a very sensitive and embarrassing topic for me to talk to people about. Please help me by sharing my fundraiser with your friends and family or on Facebook. Thank you.

    Could you comment on the recent reports by Dermatology Times that benzene was found in over 78 common sunscreen products??? Many popular drug store brands on the list. My favs were not tested in the study, but the findings suggest that it is a supply chain quality control issue that affects some batches and not others, so it isn’t just one brand or type of sunscreen that we should avoid. How can consumers protect themselves?

    Dr. Dray: Thank you for this video. Please do more for all of us suffering from hair loss despair. By the way, Finasteride 5mg po qd is being prescribed to women suffering AGA. Also, you may be interested in knowing that PRF seems to be gaining traction over PRP. It includes the fibrin from blood. Can you do a review of the literature on why AGA frequently presents in women during hormone decline (perimeno). And, since this is true, could you explore why it isn't logical to start HRT to keep the womens' estradiol, progesterone & testosterone levels at premeno levels to head off all of the dreadful problems that severe sex hormone deficiency causes including massive hair thinning and loss for 2/3 women. Hair loss devastates everyone but especially women. By the way, your hair looks gorgeous and I am so very jealous.

    Dr dray.. I have a question. The PrP treatments at the doctors office are around $3000 per session. I have seen some Groupon coupons where Med spas are offering around $300 per session. Can I go with the Med spas? What is the real deal between the price points at a doctors office vs Med spa? What should I look for if I go with the Med spa?

    • @christinamoller5742
      @christinamoller5742 3 роки тому +6

      I’m betting she’ll say no. I’ve heard don’t have procedures at spas because they aren’t licensed. Too bad, given the price difference. I wish insurance would cover at least part of dermatology....

    I was diagnosed with androgenic alopecia. I just had my first treatment of prp 2 weeks ago. Along with taking nutrafol and an iron supplement as well. My concern is as I'm gradually going bald, because since I've had my first treatment I've lost more hair and now I have 2 widening part areas. How can I at least stop my hair loss Dr? I just want to stop losing hair and keep it from falling out. Its so depressed all I wear is caps and I've never been one to wear caps so I just leave it in a small bun. I dont smoke or drink.

    Is it true that Saw Palmetto, coupled with vitamin A&B (to help with absorption) lowers DHT and increases collagen production (for better hair and skin)?

      “20-30 years from now, PRP is going to be fine-tuned”. Right! I’m guessing most people don’t want to wait 20-30 years. Have seen another very informative video which advises that PRP for hair is effective for approximately 3-4 months, and that’s after an initial 3-4 sessions 6 weeks apart, whereupon the patient will require similar treatment at least once a year to maintain the so-called growth! Check out the clip by Dr. Gary Linkov titled “ PRP vs Hair Transplant. A little more credible than this one ( to me anyway).
